Media Freaks Out About Facebook Changes; Maybe They Shouldn't Have Become So Reliant On Facebook

Last week, a large part of the media ecosystem seemed to totally flip out following Facebook's announcement that it was going to effectively de-prioritize news content in favor of content from friends and family. Facebook was pretty direct about how this will decrease traffic to many publishers:

Donald Trump Insults White House Press Corps. by Ordering Them ‘Out’

Over the weekend, you couldn’t read a major news site without encountering journalists screaming that Trump was a racist for the comments, despite the fact that every American has said the exact same thing at some point in their life.

It’s obnoxious behavior, but it’s par for the course for the contemporary media. The press has long given up the veil of impartiality and revealed itself to be partisan mouthpiece of the Democratic Party. That truth couldn’t be more apparent in all the fake reporting going on around Trump, whether it’s through publishing fake scoops or using fake pictures to slander President Trump.

Tillerson Breaks With White House, Rejects Freeze Of Military Exercises Near North Korea

In a direct reversal with the recently disclosed official White House policy, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. rejects a 'freeze for freeze' approach that would pause joint U.S./South Korean military drills in exchange for a pause to North Korea's nuclear program.

Speaking in Vancouver at a meeting with foreign ministers, Tillerson said that "we reject a 'freeze for freeze' approach, in which legitimate defensive military exercises are placed on the same level as the DPRK’s unlawful actions. The pressure campaign will continue until North Korea takes decisive steps to de-nuclearize."

deja vu: Japanese Public Broadcaster NHK Issues False Alarm Over North Korean Missile Launch

It's deja vu, all over again... Just four days after residents of Hawaii lived through 38 minutes of doomsday hell, after a false public broadcast alarm announced that a ballistic missile launch was headed for the island, only to reverse and announce later it was a mistake, moments ago Japan's National broadcaster NHK’s app issued a false J-Alert to phones over a North Korean missile launch at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday evening local time.

Japan public broadcaster falsely reports N. Korean missile launch

The incident comes just four days after a public warning was issued to residents in Hawaii to “seek immediate shelter” from an alleged incoming ballistic missile which had been launched.

That alert was issued in error by the Hawaii Civil Defense, which apologized profusely and sparked debate online about US President Donald Trump’s rhetoric regarding his country’s nuclear capabilities and the threat posed by the North Korean regime.

BBC: ‘Is It Transphobic to Not Date Transgender People?’

The BBC article followed the recent Celebrity Big Brother row — a reality television programme in which minor public figures are filmed 24/7 as they live together in a TV studio — in which U.S. former singer ‘Ginuwine’ turned down a kiss from fellow contestant India Willoughby, a TV journalist who recently “transitioned” from male to female.

Asked by the 51-year-old ITV Border reporter whether he would “go out with a transexual woman”, Ginuwine replied: “I believe it’s your choice… I would choose not to.”

Trust in news media takes a hit during Trump presidency

When truck driver Chris Gromek wants to know what’s really going on in Washington, he scans the internet and satellite radio. He no longer flips TV channels because networks such as Fox News and MSNBC deliver conflicting accounts tainted by politics, he says.

“Where is the truth?” asks the 47-year-old North Carolina resident.

Answering that question accurately is a cornerstone of any functioning democracy, according to none other than Thomas Jefferson. But a year into Donald Trump’s fact-bending, media-bashing presidency, Americans are increasingly confused about who can be trusted to tell them reliably what their government and their commander in chief are doing.

Interviews across the polarized country as well as polling from Trump’s first year suggest people seek out various outlets of information, including Trump’s Twitter account, and trust none in particular.

FOX NEWS Trump may be digging himself into a 's---hole'

As President Trump nears his first anniversary in office, he faces an unforgiving political ?landscape. Every word he says and every action he takes will either help him keep a Republican Congress or hand control to Democrats.

And if Dems get the gavel, impeachment could be the result.

Emma Watson Writes Open Letter Apologizing For Her 'White Privilege'

Actress Emma Watson wrote an open letter to her book club after reading Reni Eddo-Lodge's "Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race" where she acknowledged her "white privilege" and said she's thought about the ways she "upholds a system that is structurally racist."

After coming out as a feminist in 2015, Watson was criticized by black feminists for being a privileged "white feminist." She said she began "panicking" as a result.

"What was the need to define me — or anyone else for that matter — as a feminist by race? What did this mean? Was I being called racist?"

"Every time I think I’ve peeled all the layers, there’s another layer to peel," she said.

Indeed, Emma. Acknowledging your "white privilege" is a never-ending process for which the only logical conclusion at the end is to commit suicide.

Corporate Powers Are Stealing Online Identities, Posting Fake Comments to Push for Consumer Law Repeals

Hundreds of thousands of comments, purportedly made by Americans, have come in over the electronic transom to at least five different federal agencies calling for an end to Obama-era consumer protections and other regulations that impede profits, a series of investigative reports by the Wall Street Journal found. Except, the people who supposedly sent these comments never did.

The latest example concerns the so-called "Fiduciary Rule," which originated in the Labor Department and was to talk effect in July 2019, to try to prevent conflicts of investment from investment advisers targeting retirees.

Health Ranger calls for First Amendment to be expanded to the online world: Vindictive censorship must be STOPPED

What has become remarkably clear to nearly everyone is that Google, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo and other tech giants now operate as radical left-wing censorship regimes that selectively “shadow ban” and oppress conservative ideas. Tech giants have been infiltrated by left-wing “cultists” who literally believe that they have the right to suppress and destroy any speech with which they disagree. This is all pursued under the banner of “social justice” and “equality,” of course, because to a deranged Leftist, “equality” means only hearing one side of any given debate.

US illegal rogue state empire shits on ‘former’ colonial targets annually killing millions, harming billions, looting trillions. Demanding .01% arrests for OBVIOUS Crimes Against Humanity, or prefer causing shitholes under propaganda shitstorms?

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

hat tip: Kauilapele’s Blog

On January 12th, The Washington Post reported from anonymous “people” at a White House meeting:

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to countries mentioned by the lawmakers.

Corporate media ignores the overwhelming and ongoing emergencies of so-called “former” colonial nations suffering under military attacks by so-called “developed” nations that annually kill millions, harm billions, and loot trillions. These facts cause the US to most accurately be labeled a “lying and illegal rogue state empire” rather than what We the People are propagandized as “limited government under the US Constitution.”

Google’s New ‘Fact-Checker’ Is Partisan Garbage

In the midst of the “fake news” hysteria last year, Google launched a project to help curate reliable information for its readers by identifying articles and sites that need fact-checking. And this may come as a surprise to some of you, but it looks like the tech giant’s truth project is imbued with a tiny bit of ideological and political bias.

Eric Lieberman at The Daily Caller recently found that the fact checks displayed in Google’s search engine results are targeted almost exclusively at conservative publications. You can test it out yourself.

Trump says newspaper misquoted him on Kim Jong Un, points to audio tape

President Trump on Sunday accused The Wall Street Journal of “falsely” reporting him saying he has a “good relationship” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and publishing so-called fake news because the newspaper wanted a big story.

“The Wall Street Journal stated falsely that I said to them ‘I have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un’ (of N. Korea). Obviously I didn’t say that. I said ‘I’d have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un,’ a big difference. Fortunately we now record conversations with reporters,” Trump said over two tweets. “And they knew exactly what I said and meant. They just wanted a story. FAKE NEWS!”

‘Don’t Be Evil’? Google Is Becoming A Police State

Back in the day, Google famously adopted the corporate motto, “Don’t be evil.” It hasn’t turned out so well.

The problem is that their motto didn’t define what constitutes evil, so it left an opening for narrow-minded zealots to commandeer company resources in a witch hunt against whatever they define as the forces of wickedness. That’s what has happened at Google, which has adopted a corporate culture of quasi-totalitarian ideological uniformity that it is now starting to impose on everyone who uses its services. Which is, let’s face it, pretty much everyone. For now.

Google’s internal culture has been laid bare by James Damore’s lawsuit alleging employment discrimination. The picture we get is a corporate culture of lockstep ideological uniformity, enforced by censorship, badgering, and blacklisting. Damore furnishes one note from a Google manager in 2015, addressed to “hostile voices.”

Korea: Peace Breaks Out Despite McMaster

This isn’t just about the Olympics: it’s the beginning of a new phase in North-South relations, and the start of the decoupling process that was begun, ironically, by this President when he brought up the US-South Korean trade imbalance and raised the possibility during the presidential campaign of withdrawing US troops and having the South take care of their own defense. This no doubt got the South Koreans – particularly then candidate Moon – to thinking that maybe it’s time to strike out on a more independent course … and start putting Korea first.

Who or What Is Feeding the Unrest in Iran? Philip Giraldi

Given the history of foreign interventions in the Middle East, is the United States or Israel plausibly involved in the demonstrations?
The answer to that is both yes and no. There is considerable evidence that the United States and possibly Israel, joined by Saudi Arabia, have set up several command centers in Iraq and Afghanistan to support the protests. They have been using social networking as well as radio broadcasts to encourage the people to get out and demonstrate. One such station called AmadNews, broadcasting from outside Iran, called on demonstrators to attack police stations and government buildings. It appears to be a US government front manned by Persian speaking Israelis.

Twitter Caught Trying To Silence James O’Keefe After He Exposed Their Conservative Censorship Regime

Twitter has finally unblocked Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe’s account after attempting to silence the conservative journalist over his expose on the social media giants direct political censorship of conservatives.

Multiple media outlets have noted that before the suspension, O’Keefe had been gaining upwards of 10,000 new followers per day since the release of his bombshell expose that showed Twitter employees literally bragging about censoring conservative viewpoints on the platform.

“The suspension was likely an attempt by Twitter to bury the news story exposing company practices, but Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was ultimately bombarded with over 20,000 tweets demanding he lift O’Keefe’s suspension,” wrote Kit Daniels.

“Twitter is trying to block our journalism,” O’Keefe was also quoted as saying.

Fighting Fake News: Back Door Trick to Enact Censorship?

Fighting fake news is the new pretext given by the ruling cabal in many nations to enact censorship via the back door. Amid the rallying cries of “We must fight fake news!” both France (under would-be dictator Macron) and now Brazil are attempting to pass legislation to ban political content on the web that the government deems to be fake news. There is a theme to this, as it follows on from many acts of censorship in 2016 and 2017. Whether it’s Twitter shadowbanning, Facebook rolling our fake news checkers or deleting entire accounts, YouTube embarking upon soft censorship through forced sign-ins or hard censorship by deleting entire channels, Google’s search engine hiding websites (by de-ranking them) or – worst of all – Google demonetizing content and sites not to its liking, censorship is clearly getting worse and threatening to overtake a free and open internet.

Classical Liberalism Strikes Out

Is the Trump presidency an example of liberalism’s decay, or a last gasp to save the system?

We can see how the attraction for a strong, blustering, iconoclastic leader would arise in this context. The appeal of Trump arose from the pervasive sense of helplessness by a broad swath of Americans, especially those who have suffered most from the dissolution of families, churches, communities, and a range of constitutive bonds. On the one hand, I see the effort to exert some control over our destiny – by demanding an economy that works for average citizens, by insisting that a national culture amount to more than borderless non-judgmentalism, and rejecting the “political correctness” accompanying a sexual revolution whose wreckage is accumulating exponentially – as a “last gasp,” as you put it, and even an admirable one.

FBI chief calls unbreakable encryption 'urgent public safety issue'

- The inability of law enforcement authorities to access data from electronic devices due to powerful encryption is an “urgent public safety issue,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said on Tuesday as he sought to renew a contentious debate over privacy and security.

Technology companies and many digital security experts have said that the FBI’s attempts to require that devices allow investigators a way to access a criminal suspect’s cellphone would harm internet security and empower malicious hackers. U.S. lawmakers, meanwhile, have expressed little interest in pursuing legislation to require companies to create products whose contents are accessible to authorities who obtain a warrant.

Wray’s comments at the International Conference on Cyber Security were his most extensive yet as FBI director about the so-called Going Dark problem, which his agency and local law enforcement authorities for years have said bedevils countless investigations. Wray took over as FBI chief in August.

Russiagate Turns On Its Originators

Russiagate originated in a conspiracy between the military/security complex, the Clinton-controlled Democratic National Committee, and the liberal/progressive/left. The goal of the military/security complex is to protect its out-sized budget and power by preventing President Trump from normalizing relations with Russia. Hillary and the DNC want to explain away their election loss by blaming a Trump/Putin conspiracy to steal the election. The liberal/progressive/left want Trump driven from office.

As the presstitutes are aligned with the military/security complex, Hillary and the DNC, and the liberal/progressive/left, the Russiagate orchestration is a powerful conspiracy against the president of the United States and the “deplorables” who elected him. Nevertheless, the Russiagate Conspiracy has fallen apart and has now been turned against its originators.

APPLE INVESTIGATED BY FRANCE FOR 'PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE'

French prosecutors have launched a probe over allegations of "planned obsolescence" in Apple's iPhone.

Under French law it is a crime to intentionally shorten lifespan of a product with the aim of making customers replace it.

In December, Apple admitted that older iPhone models were deliberately slowed down through software updates.

But it insisted it was because the phones' battery performance diminished over time.

The French investigation is being led by the economy ministry's consumer protection agency.

It follows a legal complaint filed in December by pro-consumer group Stop Planned Obsolescence (Hop).

Hop said France was the third country to investigate Apple after Israel and the US, but the only one in which the alleged offence was a crime. Penalties could include up to 5% of annual turnover or even a jail term.

WOLFF’S BOOK CONTAINS A DISCLAIMER, IN WHICH HE ACTUALLY ADMITS THAT MANY OF THE ACCOUNTS IN HIS BOOK ARE NOT TRUE!
This is what Wolff says in “Author’s Note” at the beginning of Fire and Fury:

“Many of the accounts of what has happened in the Trump White House are in conflict with one another; many, in Trumpian fashion, are baldly untrue. Those conflicts, and that looseness with the truth, if not with reality itself, are an elemental thread of the book. Sometimes I have let the players offer their versions, in turn allowing the reader to judge them. In other instances I have, through a consistency in accounts and through sources I have come to trust, settled on a version of events I believe to be true.”

The federal government is a large part of these firms’ essential market; so, invasions by the US against other countries require lots of their goods and services; and, also, America’s foreign allies additionally buy these weapons; and, right now, US President Trump is demanding that they increase their ‘defense’ budgets to buy more of them. Wars produce corporate profits if (like in the United States) the military suppliers are private corporations instead of government-owned (socialized). Selling wars is crucial to such firms’ bottom lines.

>>> On last night’s Hannity, three longtime Iran hawks were gathered before Fox News cameras like we’ve never done this before to explain to their audience how deeply concerning it is that the US government isn’t providing weapons to Iranian protesters, and how we should all want the US government to support the opposition groups by giving them whatever they want.

Sean Hannity, who was one of the loudest and most aggressive proponents of the unforgivable Iraq invasion in US media, twice expressed grave concern when speaking with his two guests that the protesters in Iran don’t have weapons to protect themselves from the Iranian government.

Establishment Media Now Laughably Claiming That Trump Cannot READ In Latest Pathetic Attack On The President

Another day, another pathetic attack on Donald Trump, this time with the laughable claim that the president may not actually be able to read.

That’s right, Trump derangement syndrome has “reached its peak” and has even increased with the release of a so far uncorroborated book by anti-Trump author Michael Wolff that claims that almost every person who comes into contact with the president believes him to be a moron.

Keep in mind that this comes at the same time that the media and leftists throughout the country are also trying to claim that Trump is mentally unstable.
