Lebanon suffers intimidation attempts to cancel gas deal with Russia – Lebanese FM

Lebanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil has said that there is currently an anti-Lebanon campaign in the Middle East, aimed at "intimidating" his country and forcing it to give up a joint gas project with Russia.

Beirut has faced certain difficulties in the course of its own efforts to “stabilize the region,” the Lebanese foreign minister said on Friday, ahead of his talks with Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. He revealed that, prior to the current crisis, Lebanon was "almost at a threshold of the first-ever contract to develop shale-gas fields with... Russian companies." However, a campaign to hinder the deal "under various pretexts" is now underway, he claimed.

Saudi Crown Prince plans war on Lebanon

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is planning a war on Lebanon, but hopes to rely on the use of Israel's military force, the Daily Mail reports.

According to the newspaper, bin Salman promised Israel billions of Dollars in direct financial aid if it submits to his plan.

His father, the current Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is reportedly preparing himself to step down so that he will be able to take over.

Saudi-Israeli Collusion? Is Israel Seeking Role as Leader of the Sunni Bloc?

Israel has instructed its overseas embassies to lobby their respective host countries in support of Saudi Arabia and its apparent efforts to destabilise Lebanon, a recently leaked diplomatic cable shows.

The cable appears to be the first formal confirmation of rumours that Israel and Saudi Arabia are colluding to stoke tensions in the region.

Sent by the Israeli foreign ministry and disclosed by Israel’s Channel 10 news this week, the cable demanded that diplomats stress Iran and Hezbollah’s engagement in “regional subversion”.

That closely echoes accusations Riyadh levelled against Tehran and the Lebanese faction in recent days.

Analysts have noted that diplomatic moves by Israel to intervene directly in a seemingly internal Arab matter are “very rare”.

Yossi Alpher, a former adviser to Ehud Barak when he was Israeli prime minister, called the cable “extremely presumptuous”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You have to remember that Netanyahu is facing a bribery/corruption charge at home. this makes him a very politically vulnerable "wounded animal" in Israeli politics, and and all wounded animals are dangerous.

This new purge by Prince Salman may have been interpreted by Netanyahu as a "the enemy of my enemy (Iran/Hezbullah) is my friend" moment, to further factionalize the Middle East, and potentially give him the momentum to attack both Lebanon and Iran, to misdirect political attention away from his corruption issues, and toward those countries which have been declared Israel's "existential enemies" in the region.

"IRGC and Hezbollah are welcome to stay in Syria" - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reminded that Russia HAS NOT promised to ensure the withdrawal of Iranian/pro-Iranian forces (meaning IRGC/Hezbollah) from southern Syria as desired by Israel.

Lavrov's denial of the previous Israeli claims that IRGC/Hezbollah will soon leave the south of Syria due to Israel's repeated requests, in fact comes as no surprise.

Iran Lambasts Saudi Arabia for Asking Israel to Attack Lebanon

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has lashed out at Saudi officials for asking the Zionist regime of Israel to attack Lebanon, saying such moves are a shame for the Muslim world.
Speaking in a cabinet session on Wednesday, Rouhani slammed Saudi Arabia’s clear interference in the affairs of an independent country like Lebanon.

It is a very unprecedented event in the history that a country asks the prime minister of another country to resign and then introduces someone else as his replacement, the Iranian president added.

“In what position do you think you [Saudis] are? Why do you think you have the right to say a party should not be part of another country’s government? How far do you think money can work?”

ISRAEL, SAUDI ARABIA SETTING PRECONDITIONS FOR WAR WITH HEZBOLLAH

The crisis in the Middle East is developing further.

In Saudi Arabia, the purge continued. According to Middle East Eye, senior Saudi figures were tortured and beaten in the purge under the banner of an anti-corruption movement, conducted by current Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

He has overseen arrests of hundreds of people, including senior royals, ministers and tycoons, with some of them reportedly being tortured so badly during their arrest or subsequent interrogations that they required hospital treatment. Even Prince Bandar bin Sultan — Saudi Arabia’s most famous arms dealer, longtime former ambassador to the US, and recent head of Saudi intelligence — was reported to be among those detained as part of the purge.

If confirmed, this will be the most significant and high profile case of this purge, even above that of high profile billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, considering Bandar’s closeness to multiple US administrations.

Saudi Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomes Lebanese Patriarch

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met Lebanese Patriarch Bechara Boutros al Rahi, Tuesday, reported Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz received earlier today the Lebanese Maronite Patriarch at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meeting tackled brotherly relations between the Saudi kingdom and Lebanon and confirmed the importance of different religions and cultures in strengthening tolerance, rejecting violence, extremism and terrorism and achieving peace and security for the region’s people and the world.

A number of Saudi ministers including Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir and Gulf Affairs Minister Thamer al-Sabhan attended the reception.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Great optics for the Prince; but I have to wonder why in the Sam Hill Lebanese Maronite Patriarch Al Rahi actually consented to meet with Prince Salman in the first place.

After all, Saudi Arabia is a country where the profession of Christianity is treated as a crime, potentially punishable by death.

The following article goes on to state:

"here are more than a million Roman Catholics in Saudi Arabia. Most of them are expatriate Filipinos who work there, but are not Saudi Arabian citizens.[1][6] The percentage of Christians of all denominations among the roughly 1.2 million Filipinos in Saudi Arabia likely exceeds 60%.[7] There are also Christians from Canada, the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Greece, South Korea, Ireland, the United Kingdom, India, China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and as well a number of Christians from sub-Saharan countries who are working in the Saudi Kingdom.[7]

Saudi Arabia allows Christians to enter the country as foreign workers for temporary work, but does not allow them to practice their faith openly.

Because of that Christians generally only worship within private homes.[7] Items and articles belonging to religions other than Islam are prohibited.[7] These include Bibles, crucifixes, statues, carvings, items with religious symbols, and others.[7]

The Saudi Arabian Mutaween (Arabic: مطوعين‎‎), or Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (i.e., the religious police) prohibits the practice of any religion other than Islam.[7] Conversion of a Muslim to another religion is considered apostasy,[7] a crime punishable by death if the accused does not recant. There have been no confirmed reports of executions for either crime in modern times.

[7] The Government does not permit non-Muslim clergy to enter the country for the purpose of conducting religious services.[7] In spite of this, a 2015 study estimates that there are some 60,000 Christians with a Muslim background living in the country, though that does not mean that all of those are citizens of the country.[8]

International Christian Concern (ICC) protested what it reported as the 2001 detention of 11 Christians in Saudi Arabia, for practicing their religion in their homes.[9] In June 2004, at least 46 Christians were arrested in what the ICC described as a "pogrom-like" action by Saudi police. The arrests took place shortly after the media reported that a Quran had been desecrated in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.[10]

Christians and other non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the cities of Mecca and Medina, Islam's holiest cities.[7]"

What Craziness Is Going on in Saudi Arabia?

But behind all this lies the stalemated Saudi war against wretched Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest, most backwards nation. Saudi Arabia has been heavily bombing Yemen for over two years, using US-supplied warplanes, munitions, including cluster bombs and white phosphorus, and US Air Force management. A Saudi blockade of Yemen, aided by the US, has caused mass starvation and epidemics such as cholera.

When I first explored Yemen, in the mid 1970’s, it was just creeping out of the 12th century AD. Today, it’s been bombed back into the 6th Century.

In spite of spending over $200 million daily (not including payoffs to `coalition’ members like Egypt) the Saudis are stuck in a stalemated conflict against Yemen’s Shia Houthi people. The US and Britain are cheerfully selling bombs and weapons to the Saudis. President Donald Trump has been lauding the destruction of Yemen because he mistakenly believes Iran is the mainstay of the anti-Saudi resistance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We could well be looking at a regional, if not a world war here, particularly if Russia intervenes on Iran's behalf, which should well be a large part of Prince Salman's calculus here, but most probably is not.

Tel Aviv signals Israel will continue striking Syria with no respect to de-escalation zone agreement

The Israeli regime has signaled that Tel Aviv would continue with military strikes across the Syrian border to thwart any alleged encroachment by Iranian-allied forces, including the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, even by violating a de-escalation zone designated by Russia and the US in the southwest of the Arab country.
Back on July 7, Russia, the US and Jordan agreed to back a ceasefire in southwestern Syria and to establish a de-escalation zone in the Syrian provinces of Dara’a, Suwayda and Quneitra, which borders the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The truce came into force two days later and proved to be helpful in reducing fighting in the designated area.

Israel has already said that it refuses to abide by the July 7 truce deal. Later in the month, the regime’s Minister of Military Affairs Avigdor Liberman affirmed that “Israel reserves its complete freedom of action, regardless of any understandings or developments” in the region.

ARAB LEAGUE SET TO HOLD EMERGENCY MEETING, AS SAUDI ARABIA AND ISRAEL PREPARE FOR WAR AGAINST “IRANIAN EXPANSION”

Egypt-based Ahram Online reports that the Arab League is set to hold an emergency meeting on Iran at Saudi Arabia’s request in order to discuss “Iranian interference” in the region at League headquarters in Cairo.

Early unconfirmed reports indicate the meeting could take place next Sunday.

According to Zerohedge, news of the Arab League extraordinary session comes as tensions are at breaking point as regional powers – especially Saudi Arabia and Israel – talk war against perceived Iranian expansion and domination in the Middle East.

Via Reuters…

Saudi Arabia has called for an urgent meeting of Arab League foreign ministers in Cairo next week to discuss Iran’s intervention in the region, an official league source told Egypt’s MENA state news agency on Sunday.

The call came after the resignation of Lebanon’s prime minister pushed Beirut back into the center of a rivalry between Sunni kingdom Saudi Arabia and Shi‘ite Iran and heightened regional tensions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudis may not have have much of an appetite for a direct confrontation with Hezbollah in Syria, but Israel will use any excuse to claim the Litani River in Lebanon as its own.

Such a war will most probably include Russia, on Iran's side, and the US and Saudi Arabia against Iran, and has all the potential of going global.

Even if you think such a war has no potential to affect you, please think again.

IF there is no quick end to this, look for a reinstitution of the draft in this country, coming after both our young men, and our young women.

US declines comment on Hariri’s status in Saudi Arabia

The United States has declined to comment on the status of Lebanon’s former prime minister who suddenly announced his resignation from the Saudi capital last week and has yet to return to Beirut.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert told a press briefing on Thursday that Chris Henzel, the US charge d’affaires in Riyadh, met Saad Hariri on Wednesday, but refused to comment on where the meeting took place or to elaborate on Hariri’s status.

“[The talks] were sensitive, private, diplomatic conversations,” Nauert said.

This was done by a widespread arrest of royals, ministers and businessmen who have large sums of money and control key parts of the economy and parts of the military. Such an unorthodox move is bound to force internal conflict with-in the country that could very well spillover.

Trump’s CIA Is Laying the Groundwork for a Devastating War on Iran, with Help from Neocon Think Tank

President Donald Trump has, since the beginning of his term, made aggressive opposition to Iran a key feature of his foreign policy. He has surrounded himself with anti-Iran hawks in the White House, and pledged to unilaterally “tear up” the nuclear deal agreed to by major world powers.

Saudi Arabia, a key U.S. proxy in the Middle East, has in recent weeks escalated its campaign against Iran. The Saudi monarchy pressured Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to resign, and has been accused of holding him hostage. The kingdom then effectively declared war on Lebanon, in the name of countering Iran and its ally Hezbollah.

President Trump has praised Saudi Arabia’s belligerent intervention and foreign meddling, even while accusing Tehran of doing exactly what Riyadh is doing. The U.S. government is working very closely with the Saudi monarchy and Israel to, in Trump’s words, “counter the regime’s destabilizing activity.”

There are only two teensy tinsy problems with this scenario.

And President Trump, attempting to go to this well of lies, in attempting to "win" American opinion to the point where they will volunteer their kids to be slaughtered in such an upcoming meatgrinder, will not work.

Although Hariri claimed that he stepped down while abroad because he feared that Iran was plotting to assassinate him back home, the Lebanese Armed Forces confirmed that they had no knowledge whatsoever about any potential threat to his life, throwing into question the former Prime Minister's entire narrative and adding credence to the suspicions that it was Saudi Arabia which is behind this political crisis.

Muhammd Bin-Salman’s Purge in Saudi Arabia Is the Prelude to Something Bigger

Muhammad Bin-Salman’s domestic purge, including the detention of 11 princes and scores of businessmen and former officials under the banner of fighting corruption, is only a first phase. It seems to haves proceeded smoothly so far, without encountering any serious obstacles.

The man now has now brought the four major pillars of state power – the economy, the security and military forces, the media and the religious establishment (both the official Council of Senior Ulema and the unofficial ‘awakening’ clerics) — totally under his control. He has thrown all his opponents, and anyone who uttered any criticism of his rule, behind bars (or, in the case of the princes and other high-ranking figures, incarcerated them in a luxury hotel for now). The latest round of detentions is unlikely to be the last, for we are dealing here with a bulldozer that levels everything that stands in its path.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is one factor which the writer absolutely misses in his analysis of the situation, and that is the question of what Russia is willing - and prepared - to do if Iran gets attacked by a Saudi coalition.

Russian military and civilian leadership has always pledged to come to Iran's aid if it is attacked militarily; so I think the question here, has to be what will Russia do, and how far will it go, to prevent regime change in Tehran?!?

"I speak here about facts not analysis. Saudi Arabia is ready to pay tens of billions of dollars to Israel for that,” he added.

Japan's biggest warship to drill with U.S. carriers near Korean peninsula

Japan said on Friday it would send one of its two big helicopter carriers, the largest warship in its fleet, along with two escorts to join three U.S. aircraft carriers for exercises in waters close to the Korean peninsula.

The Japanese ships Ise, Inazuma and Makinami will sail with the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Sea of Japan and East China Sea on Sunday, Japan’s Maritime Self Defence Force said in a press release.

It is the first time three American carriers have trained together in a decade. The show of force comes as U.S. President Donald Trump meets with regional leaders at an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Vietnam.

Trump is on a 12-day tour of Asia and has already made stops in Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing.

His administration has demanded that North Korea halt ballistic missile and nuclear tests. The naval exercise will be a potent reminder to Pyongyang of the U.S. ability to rapidly mobilize military force.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think that the signals President Trump got from Beijing put the issue of North Korea on the proverbial "back burner", at least for the time being; the infinitely more rapidly emerging and volatile struggles are happening in the Middle East, between angagonists Saudi Arabia and Iran, where a war of words may spill out into a hot war, and very quickly.

What If The Saudis, The US And Israel Attack Lebanon?

Recent events in the Mideast are rather disturbing even to people like me whose baseline position is that the professionals in both the Israeli and US military will reject war with Lebanon and its allies as unwinnable. But there are some disturbing events all over the Mideast that give us all reason for concern.

Even Dov Zakheim wrote an article in the Chicago Tribune speculating that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MSB), Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, and PM Netanyahu were plotting something. MSB had gone to Israel in September. Kushner has gone to Saudi Arabia 4 times. Kushner had been going to Israel but the cover story was that he was negotiating with the Palestinians. Some speculate that he wants the Palestinian leader Abbas to support Israel in a war with Lebanon.

Does Trump Want a New Middle East War?

Does Donald Trump want a new Middle East war, pitting Saudi Arabia against Iran in a conflict that could lay waste to the world's oil region and drag the United States into a conflict that would make the war in Iraq look like a minor skirmish? It sure looks like it.

Indeed, it's reasonable to suspect the Trump administration had a direct hand in Saudi Arabia's newfound muscular policies. Just a few days before all of this unfolded, Jared Kushner – Trump's son-in-law, who's been given a vast portfolio for Middle East policy – made an unannounced and still unexplained visit to Saudi Arabia, where he powwowed with Mohammed bin Salman. Kushner, 36, and MBS, 32, reportedly spent long hours, just the two of them, deep in conversation. "MBS is emboldened by strong support from President Trump and his inner circle, who see him as a kindred disrupter of the status quo — at once a wealthy tycoon and a populist insurgent," wrote David Ignatius in The Washington Post.

Trump backs purge of Saudi royal family – at a price

US President Donald Trump has swiftly followed up his Tuesday tweet in support of the great Saudi purge of the kingdom’s elite. A White House statement on Wednesday “welcomed” the allegation by Riyadh that Iran is supporting the Houthi militias of Yemen “including the supply of illegal arms such as ballistic missiles.”

In his tweet, Trump plunged straight into the heart of the power struggle in the House of Saud, saying “I have great confidence in King Salman and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, they know exactly what they are doing … Some of those they are harshly treating have been “milking” their country for years!”

The Saudi blockade of Yemen is starving kids and killing thousands, so why is Washington still defending it?

Yemen is considered the world’s worst humanitarian disaster by the U.N.

Now, at this point, you may be thinking, “This is shocking, but ultimately not surprising. The Middle East is a chaotic and violent place, and it has been for some time. What’s happening in Yemen is an extension of the broader Sunni vs. Shiite conflict, and while it’s incredibly tragic, this is a regional conflict that we as Americans obviously can’t solve.”

True enough, but here’s the thing: That Saudi-led coalition is made possible by Washington. The blockade is happening with our government’s endorsement, and the entire Saudi intervention is happening with our government’s material and intelligence support. Washington is selling the Saudis weapons, refueling their bombers, planning their flights and using our Navy to bolster the blockade in Yemen’s ports. Ending U.S. support wouldn’t magically make Yemen peaceful, but it would let in the food and medicine ordinary people desperately need.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prince Salman, the principal architect of this genocide, has many honorifics by which he is described, due to his damned good luck in having been born into the House of Saud; however, there is one which will haunt him to his grave and beyond, and that is the following: the Butcher of Yemen.

Yes I said it, and out loud. It is absolutely impossible not to say, looking at the ongoing carnage in Yemen.

As someone who loves people in general, and hates to see people hurting or suffering, I am thoroughly appalled and disgusted to see the US government enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen. And yet, under President Trump's watch, this is precisely what I am seeing happening in Yemen.

In fact, I am surprised that the Saudi Arabian military hasn't carpet bombed the country, killing every single Yemeni infant, woman, and medically fragile elderly person still standing; but perhaps, that is what is to come, particularly if Saudi Arabia plans to go in to Lebanon to goad Iran into fighting for Lebanese integrity, so Saudi Arabia can declare war against it.

Hezbollah Leader Says Saudi Arabia Wants to Impose New PM on Lebanese People

Saudi Arabia has "blatantly interfered" in Lebanon's local issues by allegedly detaining Saad Hariri and putting him "under house arrest," Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said, as quoted by Al Manar broadcaster, adding that the former Lebanese prime minister's "forced" resignation was unconstitutional because it had been done "under duress."

Saudi Arabia kidnapped Hariri on Israeli order: Analyst

The Israeli regime has put pressure on Saudi Arabia to abduct Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in order to drag Hezbollah and Iran into a new war, says a commentator.

“It looks as if Israel is now desperate to create a pretext for war with Iran,” E. Michael Jones told Press TV on Thursday.

The expert said Tel Aviv thinks the kidnap "will serve as a pretext for the war that Israel wants to break up Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

The Saudis have always been “junior partners” in several Israeli-US operations in the Middle East, the editor of the Culture Wars online magazine noted.

SAUDI BILLIONAIRES SCRAMBLE TO MOVE CASH OFFSHORE, ESCAPE ASSET FREEZE

Over the weekend, Saudi King Salman shocked the world by abruptly announcing the arrests of 11 senior princes and some 38 ministers, including Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, the world’s sixty-first richest man and the largest shareholder in Citi, News Corp. and Twitter. The purge was orchestrated by a new “supreme committee” to investigate public corruption created by King Salman but under the control of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who chairs the committee and is widely suspected of being the driving force behind the purge.

In addition to the arrests, two Royals have died since the purge began. Prince Mansour bin-Muqrin reportedly perished in a helicopter crash near the Yemen border earlier this week, and Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd - killed during a firefight as authorities attempted to arrest him.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The big question here, outside of the lootings, confiscations of assets, and assassinations of various Saudi princes, is when Saudi Arabia is going to invade Lebanon, as the feint for getting Iran to defend it, then declaring war against Iran for doing so.

Both the Kuwaiti and Saudi governments have called for their nationals to leave Lebanon immediately; this cannot be interpreted as anything other than a screaming telegraphing of the reality that there is an imminent Saudi war against Lebanon and Hezbullah, and ultimately Iran, coming.

Is Israel Is Getting Ready for a Major War? And No One Is Talking About It

“The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has deployed thousands of air, sea and land personnel to the Lebanese border for its biggest military drill in almost two decades, a show of strength designed to [intimidate] Hezbollah and Iran even as their power grows in neighbouring Syria.”

Beginning last Monday, soldiers and reservists alike practiced simulating a 10-day-long war with Hezbollah, an Iranian-sponsored Shi’a militant group located mainly in Lebanon. Israel even prepared two field hospitals, as well as trucks and helicopters for evacuating simulated casualties.

According to the Independent, the drill began with small border skirmishes and escalated into a full-on war with the aim of completely obliterating the Lebanese opponents. Even the soldiers playing the role of Hezbollah were to be dressed in the group’s traditional attire and will don their yellow and green flag.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Kuwait Orders Citizens To Leave Lebanon Immediately "As Precaution Against Any Negative Impact That Might Take Place"

The drums of war are beating at a deafening pace: with Saudi Arabia ordering its citizens to immediately leave Lebanon on Thursday, just a few hours later Kuwait joined in.

According to the Kuwait News Agency, citing a foreign ministry statement, Kuwait citizens currently in Lebanon are urged to leave the country immediately.

The statement said the order is due to the "circumstances experienced by Lebanon at the moment, as well as a precautionary measure against any negative impact that might take place."

The ministry also urged citizens not to travel to Lebanon, "wishing at the same time security and stability for the Arab country."

At this point it is safe to assume that war between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia/Israel is just a matter of time.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister calls for sanctions on Iran for its 'support of terrorism’

"We would like to see sanctions on Iran for its support of terrorism and sanctions on Iran for violating the ballistic missile resolutions of the United Nations," Adel Al-Jubeir, Saudi minister of foreign affairs, told CNBC Thursday

The Kingdom's foreign minister went on to say the most effective way of dealing with Iran would be for the international community to hold Tehran accountable for "fixing" the nuclear agreement, supporting terrorism and for its ballistic missile program

Al-Jubeir described the situation in Lebanon as "unfortunate." He went on to accuse Hezbollah of "hijacking the system" and putting "roadblocks" in front of Hariri at every opportunity

Saudi Arabia later warned its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately

THE SAUDI PURGE: THE MIDDLE-EAST IS ON THE VERGE OF A NEW WAR

Other high-ranking members of the establishment and the royal family - the two tend to be one and the same in Saudi Arabia - get arrested on charges of corruption, with their bank accounts frozen.

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri unexpectedly resigns after he was summoned to Riyadh by his Saudi-backers.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia accused Iran of conducting acts of “direct military aggression” and accused Lebanon of “declaring war” on Riyadh by allowing Hezbollah “aggression” against the kingdom.

All this happened in a span of just a few days.

With ever-growing security challenges and problems at the regional level, the crisis that took hold of Saudi Arabia does not seem to be slowing down.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This "attack against corruption", with which these imprisoned princes are accused, was simply a way for the Crown Prince to consolidate his power; seize about 88 billion dollars' worth of assets; and leave him a free hand to finish the job in Yemen according to his will (which will probably mean carpet bombing the country very soon), and tricking the Iranian military into invading Lebanon to defend Hizbullah as an excuse to declare war against Iran.

We have just seen the Saudi decree that all Saudi nationals need to leave Lebanon immediately; they could not be telegraphing any more loudly that something wicked this way comes for Lebanon.

But Prince Salman had better get his geopolitical ducks in somewhat of a row before he attacks Iran.

Russia's military and civilian leadership has pledged, consistently, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

Does Prince Salman really believe, seriously, that he could win a military confrontation with Russia over Iran, even with the US's and Israel's military assistance?!? Were I he, and his advisors, I would rethink that scenario through, very, very carefully before he starts World War III.

Saudi Arabia’s King to 'stand down and hand power to son after purging' rivals

KING Salman is reportedly preparing to make his son Prince Mohammed bin Salman the ruler of Saudi Arabia in a shock move following a corruption purge, reports claim.

Saudi expert James Dorsey, a senior fellow at Singapore's S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, said: "The most recent crackdown breaks with the tradition of consensus within the ruling family whose secretive inner workings are equivalent to those of the Kremlin at the time of the Soviet Union.

"Prince Mohammed, rather than forging alliances, is extending his iron grip to the ruling family, the military, and the National Guard to counter what appears to be more widespread opposition within the family as well as the military to his reforms and the Yemen war.”

The news comes after the US promised to aid Saudi Arabia in neutralising “Iran’s destabilising influence” and battle extremism in the Middle East, the Pentagon has announced.

US Demands UN Action Against Iran Over Yemen Missile

Though Saudi Arabia accused Iran (and Lebanon for that matter) of being behind a Yemen missile strike over the weekend, they offered no evidence that this was the case. Indeed, while they claimed Iran provided the missile, they also confirmed the missile was a Burqan 2H, which is a Yemen-made design, and which Yemen’s Defense Ministry confirmed firing themselves.

Still, one allegation from the Saudis was enough for US Ambassador Nikki Haley to come to the UN Tuesday to demand international action against Iran, claiming the missile “may be of Iranian origin” and that would be a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

Saudi Arabia has been frustrated by how poorly the war in Yemen is going, and has been keen to pick fights with Iran. The Trump Administration has very much been supportive of that idea, and subsequently is backing the Saudi allegations against Iran, even though they are transparently untrue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley, a word, please: the "big lie" went out with the whoopie cushion and the dribble glass, and this seems to be understood by every UN member country's Ambassador....except for yourself, the Ambassador from Saudi Arabia, and the Ambassador from Israel.

Unfortuntely, it appears that you are violently allergic to the truth, and in a massive depth of geopolitical denial which is going to ultimately get the US sleepwalking into a war against Iran, using Saudi Arabia, as a proxy, which will most likely ultimately involve Russia on Iran's side.

And although Saudi Arabia and Israel's political leadership have been cheerleading for a war against Iran, regime change in Tehran is most apt to be borne at the costs primarily of American blood, and American money.

Shakeup In Saudi Arabia, Hariri Resignation, And Threats Of War Spell Possible Chaos In Middle East

By Brandon Turbeville

Over the past few days, a series of events have occurred which rocked the geopolitical scene and have affected a number of countries specifically such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. Naturally, the events that taking place in these locations are immensely important for the rest of the world and, for that reason, other regional and international players are being drawn into the drama as well.

While it would be foolish to pretend to know all the details taking place behind the scenes, we are still able to analyze current events in order to attempt to gain a greater understanding of where the situation is heading and thus have a better understanding of how to respond to them. The article that follows is simply an attempt to point to the most logical conclusion regarding these events...

"Explosive" Leaked Secret Israeli Cable Confirms Israeli-Saudi Coordination To Provoke War

As is already well-known, the Saudi and Israeli common cause against perceived Iranian influence and expansion in places like Syria, Lebanon and Iraq of late has led the historic bitter enemies down a pragmatic path of unspoken cooperation as both seem to have placed the break up of the so-called “Shia crescent” as their primary policy goal in the region. For Israel, Hezbollah has long been its greatest foe, which Israeli leaders see as an extension of Iran’s territorial presence right up against the Jewish state’s northern border.

Hariri’s resignation kicks off new phase of Iranophobia

Lebanese Prime Minister Sadd Hariri’s surprise resignation while visiting Saudi Arabia instead of his own country raises many questions about the new phase of the tensions and instabilities planned by the U.S., Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime. All these happens at a time when the Islamic Republic of Iran and its allies are widely seen to have won the war against the terrorist groups backed by Washington and its regional allies in Syria and Iraq.

Is Saudi Arabia Engaging Iran in a New Regional Conflict?

While Hariri stepped down in a televised address from Saudi Arabia and blamed Hezbollah and Iran for meddling in the country’s internal affairs, this might only be a prelude to a new Hezbollah-Israel war—something that might enable the Saudis to force Iran to shift its focus away from Iraq and Syria.

This is how things might be forced to turn ugly in Lebanon. The Saudis, by pulling Hariri out of his office, seem to be hoping to ensure that Hezbollah gets stuck with the blame and responsibility for Lebanon’s challenges, from caring for Syrian refugees to wiping out Al Qaida and ISIS affiliates. This will probably require Hezbollah to assume more control in Lebanon—something that Israel is most likely to sees as a red-line. A stronger Hezbollah in Lebanon means a stronger Iranian presence close to Israel, forcing Israel in a conflict with them.

Saudi Arabia Says Lebanon, Iran Declare War

Over the weekend, Saudi Arabia intercepted a ballistic missile fired by north Yemeni forces at their capital city. The missile was identified as a Burqan 2H, a Yemeni design, and Yemen’s Defense Ministry confirmed firing it.

Rather than just the latest retaliation in Saudi Arabia’s two and a half year war in Yemen, however, Saudi officials seem to be looking to turn the incident into the start of a region-wide war, saying it amounted to a declaration of war against them by both Lebanon and Iran.

This claim centers on Saudi claims, which appear to have started Monday but weren’t mentioned over the weekend when the interception happened, that the missile was an “Iranian” missile, fired at the Saudi capital by Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, which is part of the Lebanese government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is insane; this charge has been proven absolutely wrong by its identification by Saudi and Yemeni military as a Burqan 2H, of Yemeni manufacturing, and Yemeni design.

This is not an Iranian designed or manufactured missile.

But we have a two week huge military exercise by Israeli and "coalition" forces,in one of the most dense, integrative natures ever conducted by the Israeli military; the purge of Saudi royalty and businessmen who didn't like where Prince Salman was going; and the resignation of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, which is going to leave that country in great geopolitical turmoil.

And I hope President Trump understands that even though Prince Salman and Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu have been "cheerleading" for regime change in Tehran, it will primarily be bought, if Trump is foolish enough to sign on to this, at the costs of American blood and American money.

Think about it, Mr. President, please, before you sign off on this; and please remember that Russian military and political personnel have long pledged to come to Iran's aid militarily, should it be attacked.

And on top of this, comes this very sad statement about how President Trump is characterizing this purge:

Trump Endorses Saudi Crackdown to "neutralize" Iran.

DEFEATED ELSEWHERE, SAUDI TYRANT DECLARES WAR ON LEBANON

The Saudi clown prince Mohammed bin Salman is purging all potential internal resistance and solidifies his dictatorial position. (The move includes a huge money grab. All assets of those accused of corruption are confiscated by the state which, in Saudi Arabia, is the tyrant himself.) The internal consolidation of power is the prelude for a larger external venture.

At the same time as the internal purges proceed, MbS implements an extremely aggressive foreign policy agenda targeted at Iran and its allies. Having been defeated in Iraq and Syria and at stalemate in Qatar and Yemen the Saudi ruler decided to try his luck in Lebanon. The Saudi declares war on Lebanon and will put enormous economic and political pressure on it. But all of that will be to no avail. The war will only cause Lebanon to move deeper into the "resistance" camp and join its forces with Syria, Iran and Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, please; don't panic here.

But do plan.

The situations in both the Middle East and Asia are getting about as serious as is a heart attack, and you need to make contingency plans in order to keep your family as safe as possible.

If you do not already have resources in place for long term storable food and water, and any medication you and the family needs, get them now. If the cell system goes down, you will need long-range, walkie-talkies. Start working with them now, and make sure you are comfortable, so that if you need to use them, you can.

IF you and the family get separated, have a plan to get back together. Have a bugout kit, which gets reviewed episodically, to make sure your equipment, or food, has not expired. Non-leaking batteries are a must on the equipment side.

If you have kids in school, find out their policy regarding taking them out of school before the end of the school day, if you see that you are looking at some kind of emergency coming forward.

IT is always better to have and not need, rather than need and not have...

Expert: Hariri's resignation is a sign that Saudis and U.S-Israel are pursuing a disastrous 'Plan B'

To contextualize the resignation of Hariri in Lebanon, we must understand the ongoing development of the liberation of Syrian land as a result of the work of the Syrian Arab Army and their allies especially that of Hezbollah, where their elected leadership has already said that soon enough there would be the total liberation of Syria from ISIS, and we have already seen it this week in Iraq now in Iraq, and we are supposed to see it again between today and tomorrow when the SAA and allies reach Al Bukamal, which is a border area between Iraq and Syria.

So all of these events happening inside of Syria which indicate that the Saudis have indeed lost their war, especially with their proxies being a total failure inside of Syria, it has shown that now it's time for 'Plan B'.

Hariri Resigned after Failing to Carry Out Saudi Plots: Lebanese Analyst

A senior political analyst said the Riyadh regime has forced Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri to resign after he failed to carry out the kingdom’s seditious plots in Lebanon.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Abdo al-Laqqis said Hariri, in fact, did not resign but the Saudi government ousted him.

His resignation was a decision taken by Riyadh because the Saudi regime saw him inefficient to implement its seditious plots, the analyst said.

He further said that one of the main reasons behind the resignation is that Riyadh was dissatisfied with the presence of Hezbollah Resistance Movement in Hariri’s administration.

Hariri resigned on Saturday, saying in a televised broadcast he sensed a plot to target his life.

On the verge of catastrophe: Saudi Arabia says Lebanon declared war

LEBANESE PRESIDENT WON'T ACCEPT PM'S RESIGNATION UNTIL HE RETURNS

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri resigned on television while visiting Saudi-Arabia, leaving the validity of his abdication unclear.

Lebanon's president will not accept the resignation of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri until he returns to Lebanon, palace sources said on Sunday, delaying for now politically difficult consultations on his successor.

Hariri left Lebanon for Saudi Arabia on Friday and resigned on Saturday in a televised statement that took the Lebanese political establishment by surprise.

A resignation would thrust Lebanon back into the arena of regional rivalry between Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabia, an ally of Hariri, and Shi'ite Muslim Iran, which backs Hezbollah.

President Michel Aoun, a political ally of Hezbollah, will wait to accept or reject Hariri's resignation until he returns to Lebanon to explain his reasons, sources at the presidential palace said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At this point, Lebanes President Ayoun has to consider the very real possibility that Harrari will not return to Lebanon, because he feels his life is at risk, should he do so.

TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE PALESTINIAN WAY

I wish that the US and the Western governments take care of their people in need. Instead of legislating to help Puerto Rico, the Israeli occupied US Congress is trying to be an even more obedient "house slave" for the Zionist masters by imposing more penalties on Hizballah (Lebanon) and Iran and pushing for yet another devastating war (just like they did in Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Libya). Bernard Levy, the Jewish Zionist instigator of the mayhem in Libya was in Northern Iraq building Zionist relationships with the Kurdish region and instigating for dividing Iraq like the Zionists did in Sudan. Other Zionists pour illegally acquired money in illegal Jewish settlements and the largest terrorist organization in the world - the Israeli army. Dividing the world and creating hatred and wars has been a key pillar of global Zionist machinery for decades*. It is the old colonial strategy of divide and conquer. As always many reject divisions while some fall into this trap.

A plea to Israel: Don’t start the third Lebanon War

Yet Israel’s leaders don’t sound like they fear the consequences of such a war. They sound like they’re mainly afraid of letting Hezbollah keep its 150,000 missiles, and of letting the cease-fire agreement in Syria go through, which Netanyahu says would bring Iranian weaponry and Iranian-aligned militias near the Israeli Golan Heights. More than being afraid of the prospect of hundreds or thousands of Israeli deaths, they sound afraid of letting Iran establish a “band of control” from its territory through Iraq and Syria and into Lebanon for the transfer of weapons and fighters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, Israel steals the Golan from Syria, and now act indignant that Syria might want it back, especially with all the oil and gas underneath (which Israel is already selling).

Israel Strikes Damascus After Syrian Missile Defense Fires On Aircraft

For the third time in as many weeks Israel has reportedly bombed positions inside Syria. Syrian state media along with multiple regional outlets showed fires burning at a facility near the Damascus international airport in the early hours of Friday. Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that like with previous attacks, Israel jets fired from over Lebanese airspace. But it appears the latest exchange was part of a tit-for-tat exchange of fire between Syria and Israel in a situation that continues to dangerously escalate.

Multiple reports are circulating that the Israeli attack was initiated after Syria's aerial defense missile system engaged and fired on an Israeli aircraft in the area. Video of what purports to show Syrian missiles firing on the aircraft circulated widely in Syrian social media and was picked up by Lebanese and Israeli news outlets. Early reports indicate that an Israeli drone was likely the target.

Syria’s Victory in Deir Ezzor

The Tide is Turning against the Deep State NWO.

The Syrian Arab Army have achieved yet another dramatic victory this time lifting the ISIS siege of the heroic city of Deir Ezzor. For years Deir Ezzor has been surrounded by enemies and under siege first by the FSA and Al Nusra and then by ISIS. They have withstood repeated attacks by the US-NATO air force most infamously last fall when the Americans bombed Deir Ezzor right after agreeing to a ceasefire, a treacherous move that paved the way for a nearly successful ISIS offensive to capture the city. The brave defenders of Deir Ezzor withstood these endless attacks becoming a symbol of the heroic resistance of all of Syria. For years Syrians and their friends around the world have dreamed that one day this siege would be lifted. Our dreams have finally come true and faster then anyone could have imagined.

Is Israel Is Getting Ready for a Major War? And No One Is Talking About It

“The purpose of the drill is to test the fitness of the Northern Command and the relevant battalions during an emergency,” one IDF officer told Haaretz.

The drill, known as the “Light of the Grain” drill, took 18 months to plan. It utilizes fighter planes, ships, submarines, drones, cyber and canine units, and Israel’s missile defense system.

Putin and Netanyahu: The World’s Most Powerful President Meets the World’s Most Powerful Liar

There is no doubt that Vladimir Putin is the world’s most powerful President. By comparison, while China’s Xi Jinping is highly powerful and intelligent, China’s leadership retains a collective element while in Russia, Vladimir Putin maintains an unwritten but obvious veto power over all major decisions.

By the same extrapolation it is abundantly clear that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli leader is the world’s most powerful liar. His power comes from the fact that he is in charge of the highest portion of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, including nuclear weapons.

His dishonesty is immediately revealed by his statements about Iran. When speaking in front of the Russian President, Netanyahu said,

“…where the defeated Islamic State (Daesh) group vanishes, Iran is stepping in”.

This statement is disingenuous on many levels. First of all, Netanyahu stated to Putin that he felt that Iran is a danger and secondly, that this danger is tantamount to that of Daesh.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These are dangerous times for Israel's Prime Minister; caught in a corruption probe at home, Corruption and bribery: Netanyahu Chief of Staff Revelations and disdained by heads of state abroad, he has become geopolitically cornered, and wounded; and no one can be more vicious than a cornered, wounded politician.

Several days ago, Prime Minister Netanyahu made the following statement:

IDF will stop Iranian threat in Syria, declares Israeli defense minister

The article then goes on to say:

"Source: IDF will stop Iranian threat in Syria, declares Israeli defense minister

Israel will do what it takes to prevent an Iranian threat on its northern border, Liberman declared."

"Israel will not stand by while Iran advances in Syria and establishes itself militarily on Israel’s northern border, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman stated."

So is the Israeli government seriously looking at attacking Syria, using the excuse/justification that the presence of Iranian forces is just too large to tolerate?!?

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against Netanyahu doing something like this, in order to deflect attention from his upcoming corruption trial.

And if that happens, what wil Russia do at that point?!?

I seriously hope that when Putin and Netanyahu met last week to discuss this, Russia issued some red lines here regarding Syria, in terms of what absolutely cannot be tolerated, in terms of an Israeli military response.

Also, if there is an American military component to Israel's plans for Syria, that could well mean war against Russia and Iran over this country.

NETANYAHU TO PUTIN: IRAN MUST LEAVE SYRIA OR "WE WILL ACT"

For Netanyahu and other Israeli officials the chief concern was never the black clad death cult which filmed itself beheading Americans and burning people alive. "Let the Sunni evil prevail," they say.

Israel is threatening to escalate military action in Syria against perceived Iranian interests. This week Netanyahu declared, "we will act when necessary according to our red lines" while hinting he prefers ISIS presence in Syria as opposed to Iran aligned fighters at his border. This comes as ISIS is now crumbling, and at a time when most world leaders of nations driving the external proxy war in Syria have toned down their rhetoric regarding the future fate of the Assad government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister Netanyahu, where are you hearing the following?!? ""We cannot forget for a single minute that Iran threatens every day to annihilate Israel."

Are the voices in your head getting louder, perhaps, sir?!?

Because in semi-official Iranian blogs such as presstv.com, and farsnews.com, which I read and to which I link pretty much daily, there is not a word about destroying Israel, but some deep, and intelligent, criticisms of how Israel treats the Palestinians, and particularly Palestinian children.

Where, please, do indefinite detentions, and the routine torture of children, to get them to accuse others in their communities of crimes they did not commit,"fit" in the only alleged democracy in the Middle East, which, by the way, still has no constitution, 69 years after it was founded?!?

Just curious, sir.

You could immediately make peace in a win/win situation by flying to Tehran, and developing a relationship with President Rouhani. And the reality here, sir, is that unlike what one sees in anti-Iranian Israeli propaganda, Jews in Iran are thriving.

Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran

But of course, you won't, because part of the power Israeli politicians hold over their people is the power of fear; that the others in the region are ready to tear the hearts out of Israeli children, when it is generally Israeli settlers who are illegally claiming Palestinian land; encroaching more deeply in East Jerusalem, and the West Bank, and briskly evicting Palestinians whose families have lived on certain spots for multiple generations.

And we all know that you most likely won't be fighting directly against Iranians in Syria; you have the American troops to do do that for you.

American troops will be in Syria for decades

An independent Kurdistan is being established in sections of Iraq and Kurdistan, in order to balkanize those countries, and control their oil, something Israel is encouraging.

And we all know that you would love to regime change Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

So please, don't give us this codswallop about "Iranian aggression", when Israeli aggression against its neighbors and the Palestinians have made it the absolute pariah of the entire Middle East.
