Scott Adams: Omar Versus Trump, Manafort, Spartacus

Manafort lied, CNN headline calls that a bombshell?
Amy Klobuchar calls the AOC New Green Deal “aspirational”
Cory Booker beginning to understand phrase, “The Party of Women”
Cory says he will “look to women first” for a VP
Men need not apply unless all women are unqualified
Kamala Harris tax rate statement not getting fact-checked by CNN
Jake Tapper’s unfair, mean-spirited coverage of President Trump
Jake and CNN believe the President is anti-Semitic…
…and Israel hasn’t noticed? How can they believe that?
TDS requires two pillars of belief that are obvious hoaxes
1. Charlottesville hoax
2. Russia collusion hoax (involving President Trump)
Human ego maintenance requires TDS victims cling to the 2 pillars
Accepting the 2 pillars as hoaxes…
…would be too large of a blow to their ego

All your Google searches will now be used against you by the state to block your right to buy a gun

Be careful what you search for online. Big Tech, in lockstep with Big Brother, is reportedly plotting to use your internet browsing history against you in order to deprive you of your Second Amendment rights. -- At the close of 2018, the state of New York – which recently legalized infanticide (baby murder), to thunderous applause – put forth a new gun control bill that, if passed, would require anyone who wants to purchase a gun to first hand over three years’ worth of social media history, as well as one year’s worth of internet search history.

AIPAC Uses Recent Controversy Around Ilhan Omar’s Criticism of Israel Lobby to Raise Funds

AIPAC – apparently impervious to irony – has used Omar’s comments and cautions about the problematic role of lobbyists in U.S. politics as a rallying cry to raise even more funds to further influence the political process on Capitol Hill.

Here’s how the pro-Israel lobby — criticized by Ilhan Omar — stacks up against other Washington influencers

Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar sparked an outcry after the Minnesota Democrat said Sunday that support for Israel on Capitol Hill is driven by campaign contributions. She apologized on Monday, but continued to say that one prominent pro-Israel group’s role in U.S. politics was “problematic.”

The pro-Israel lobby is a significant player in terms of political donations, contributing $14.9 million in the 2018 election cycle, according to data from OpenSecrets.org, a website tracking money in politics that’s run by a nonpartisan research group, the Center for Responsive Politics.

The center ranks this lobby as the 50th-biggest spender in the last cycle — well behind the securities and investment industry at No. 1 with its $399 million, as well as lagging the electronics industry at No. 19 with its $57 million.

$32,500 for CBD Oil?

If we don’t change a key FDA policy, that’s how much you may be forced to pay if you want to purchase CBD oil. Action Alert!

For years, consumers have benefitted from access to cheap, safe, and effective CBD oil supplements. But now the FDA says that CBD is a drug, not a supplement—a drug which will be sold for $32,500 a year. Legally the FDA could at any time remove all CBD supplements from the market, on its own volition, or if the drug company which holds drug market exclusivity requests FDA do so. Unless we change the rules, we may see a government-sponsored monopoly on CBD oil, and in the near future, additional monopolies on other cheap, safe, and effective supplements.

This is happening because of a back-channel that allows natural supplements to be turned into drugs by the FDA. It works like this: if a company is investigating a substance as a drug, FDA rules give the company market exclusivity on that substance—even if it is currently being sold as a supplement.

Paul Manafort: Trump ex-aide lied to prosecutors, judge rules

Donald Trump's former election campaign chief Paul Manafort breached his plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller by lying to prosecutors, a US judge says.

US District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled that Manafort "made multiple false statements" to the FBI, Mr Mueller's office and a grand jury.

Mr Mueller leads a probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 US election.

Manafort has pleaded guilty to some charges, avoiding a separate trial.

He was convicted of financial fraud in August, relating to his work as a political consultant in Ukraine.

Trump Puts Best Face on Border Deal, as Aides Try to Assuage an Angry Right

In pursuit of a wall, President Trump ran into one. A single-minded drive to force Congress to finance his signature campaign promise has left Mr. Trump right back where he started, this time seeking a way to climb over the political barrier in his way after trying to charge through it did not work.

As he inched closer to reluctantly accepting a bipartisan spending compromise without the money he demanded for his border wall, Mr. Trump offered no acknowledgment on Wednesday that his pressure tactics had failed even as aides sought to minimize the damage by tamping down criticism on the right.

One call was made to Lou Dobbs, a favorite of Mr. Trump’s whose Fox Business Network show he often tries to catch live. Another was placed to Sean Hannity, the Fox host who regularly talks with the president. The message: Mr. Trump deserved support because he still forced concessions that he would never have gotten without a five-week partial government shutdown.

Have Beer, Lose Guns – Are Anti-Gun-Rights Warriors Drunk With Power?

They have come a long way, boiling the frog slowly under the radar, but you and I know it. Permits for carrying firearms discreetly already come with a ban on possession in places serving alcohol. That’s almost anywhere decent you might want to eat. There’s no inherent danger in owning sidearms in a restaurant, especially if you don’t consume alcohol (the typical requirement), but the gun ban tied to the eating ban is now virtually complete across the nation. Several narrow exceptions exist.

US COMPANY THAT SMUGGLED WEAPONS INTO VENEZUELA LINKED TO CIA RENDITIONS

Two executives at the company that chartered the U.S. plane that was caught smuggling weapons into Venezuela last week have been tied to an air cargo company that aided the CIA in the rendition of alleged terrorists to “black site” centers for interrogation. The troubling revelation comes as Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has rejected a U.S. “humanitarian aid” convoy over concerns that it could contain weapons meant to arm the country’s U.S.-backed opposition.

Last Tuesday, Venezuelan authorities announced that 19 rifles, 118 ammo magazines, 90 radios and six iPhones had been smuggled into the country via a U.S. plane that had originated in Miami. The authorities blamed the United States government for the illicit cargo, accusing it of seeking to arm U.S.-funded opposition groups in the country in order to topple the current Maduro-led government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

CIA "front operations" go back a long time.

Many years ago, my late Dad worked for a CIA-Front airline, titled (and I am not kidding on this) Slick Airways, which was first stationed in the Hollywood/Burbank Airport, but moved to San Francisco Airport when I was about 13. I remember that dad never mentioned who owned the airline, originally founded by Earl Slick, or what kind of work they did, but told me that it was primarily used for "cargo transport", just like this one mentioned in the article above.

McCabe says he ordered the obstruction of justice probe of President Trump

The former FBI acting director tells 60 Minutes about the measures taken to ensure investigations into President Trump wouldn’t "vanish."

Soon after speaking to President Trump about the firing of his boss James Comey, Andrew McCabe, who became the bureau's acting director, began obstruction of justice and counterintelligence investigations involving the president and his ties to Russia. In his first television interview since his own firing, McCabe tells 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley he wanted those inquiries to be documented and underway so they would be difficult to quash without raising scrutiny.

"I was very concerned that I was able to put the Russia case on absolutely solid ground, in an indelible fashion," McCabe tells Pelley in the interview. "That were I removed quickly, or reassigned or fired, that the case could not be closed or vanish in the night without a trace."

IT’S NOT ONLY ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

The defenses of Rep. Ilhan Omar have centered on the fact that AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, really does wield power through money, as lobbies do, and they even brag about it. But in the New York Times, David Leonhardt writes that Omar’s tweet is antisemitic because not all the support for Israel is paid for by money. Much of it is sincere, he says.

He is probably right. But it isn’t a trail of logic he wants to follow to the end.

DOJ Considered Recruiting Mike Pence to Remove Trump from Office

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe just dropped a bombshell revelation in his new book: the DOJ talked about recruiting Mike Pence to remove Trump from the presidency.

The Department of Justice reportedly held meetings discussing the possibility of having Mike Pence replace Trump as the president, justifying the de facto coup by invoking the 25th Amendment.

The discussions reportedly occurred following James Comey’s unceremonious ousting as director of the FBI. Rod Rosenstein, the current Deputy Attorney General, was a part of these discussions. It was reported last year that Rosenstein actually suggested removing Trump via the 25th Amemdment, comments he later described as not serious.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the FDA has admitted, for the first time, that government agencies, including the CDC, are recommending vaccines for pregnant women that have neither been licensed for pregnant mothers by FDA nor tested for safety in clinical trials. The lawsuit, filed by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) attorney, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on behalf of Informed Consent Action Network(ICAN), a vaccine safety advocacy group, sought all clinical trial data used by FDA to approve influenza vaccines for pregnant women. The FDA’s terse reply: “We have no records responsive to your requests.”

'It's extreme': Bill Gates hits back at Ocasio-Cortez tax plan

It's a word that politicians use to drum up fear of their opponents in this country but the word "tax" is on everybody's lips — and it's getting sexier.

When a little known Dutch historian Rutger Bregman lambasted billionaire tax avoiders on stage at the World Economic Forum last month, the clip hit home with many people and quickly went viral.

"What we have there are billionaires with totally corrupt business models. They're not paying their workers a living wage, they're avoiding their taxes, they're polluting the environment," Bregman told Australia's ABC 7.30 programme last week during a media tour sparked by his new-found fame.

The issue will be addressed in a five-day hearing at the Court of Arbitration of Sport seen as a landmark case surrounding athletes with differences of sexual development (DSD).

GINSBURG’S HEALTH RAISES FRIGHTENING HISTORY OF INCAPACITY AND DISABILITY ON THE SUPREME COURT

Fervid speculation as to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s well-being was set off in December when the Supreme Court abruptly announced that she was being treated for lung cancer.

Though a positive prognosis has since allayed the worst fears of Ginsburg’s admirers, her continued struggles broach important but little-discussed questions about judicial fitness in an era when unprecedented longevity often entails sudden declines in mental and physical faculties.

Those questions are hardly theoretical: The modern history of the Supreme Court is replete with examples of real or perceived incapacity among the justices, who alone decide when to leave active service.

East German-Style Gun Confiscation Orders (“Red-Flag Laws”) Coming to Wisconsin

DOJ’s Rosenstein Doles Out $24 Million in Hush Money for Las Vegas Massacre Cops & ‘Victims’ after FED Cover-Up

Rod Rosenstein has been doling out over $24 million in taxpayer funds to state bureaucrats in Nevada and California under the guise of ‘helping’ the victims of the Mandalay Bay massacre shooting.

Today he announced a new award of over $8 million to assist victims in California but the funds, like a previous $16 million Nevada, do not go directly to the victims. It goes to law enforcement and state boards who can give it to victims — or anyone else — they see fit.

Sounds legit.

This is the old bait and switch and the real victims end up on the short end again, after being gunned down. Even worse news for families who lost loved ones.

With the way the FBI led the cover-up of the investigation into the Las Vegas shooting, this also reeks of hush money payouts to co-conspirators. A reward to feckless and corrupt law enforcement agencies like The Metro Police in Las Vegas.

FEC Still Refuses To Investigate Alleged $84 Million Clinton Campaign Money Laundering

Tuesday evening the Committee to Defend the President (CDP) filed a motion in a D.C. federal court seeking to supplement the complaint it had filed against the Federal Election Committee (FEC) in April 2018. In its original complaint, the CDP alleged that the agency responsible for enforcing campaign-finance law failed to act on an administrative complaint the CDP had filed with the FEC. That complaint charged that, during the 2016 presidential election, Democrats illegally funneled approximately $84 million through the Hillary Victory Fund to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which then illegally coordinated with the Hillary Clinton campaign.

To understand the alleged scheme requires familiarity with controlling campaign-finance law and campaign contribution limits.

Senate Intelligence Committee: No Evidence of Collusion Between Trump Campaign and Russia

Republicans and Democrats report that the Senate Intelligence Committee has been unable to find any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The revelation comes after two years of investigations involving over 200 interviews.

While members of the political parties disagree on an ill-defined and so-called “pattern of contacts,” what is indisputable is that both sides concur that there remains “no direct evidence of a conspiracy.”

Democratic Senate investigators who spoke with NBC News did not dispute an assessment made by Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) last week.

“If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia,” Burr said in an interview with CBS News last week.

Medical Expenses Contribute To Two-Thirds Of Bankruptcy Filings In U.S.

For many Americans, putting one’s health first can mean putting one’s financial status at risk. A study of bankruptcy filings in the United States showed that 66.5% were due, at least in part, to medical expenses.

The study, led by Dr. David Himmelstein, Distinguished Professor at the City University of New York’s (CUNY) Hunter College and Lecturer at Harvard Medical School, indicates that about 530,000 families each year are financially ruined by medical bills and sicknesses. It’s the first research of its kind to link medical expenses and bankruptcy since the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010.

“Unless you’re Bill Gates, you’re just one serious illness away from bankruptcy,” Himmelstein says in a release by the Physicians for a National Health Program. “For middle-class Americans, health insurance offers little protection. Most of us have policies with so many loopholes, copayments and deductibles that illness can put you in the poorhouse.”

McConnell Says Senate Will Vote On Ocasio-Cortez's "Green New Deal"

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just lobbed what we imagine will be the first of many stink bombs into the 2020 Democratic primary.

During a news conference on Tuesday where he was flanked by fellow Senate Republican, McConnell revealed that he plans to call a vote on the Green New Deal bill proposed by NYC Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, a plan that, as we have noted, is filled with extreme proposals like rebuilding every building in the US, and weaning the US off all carbon-based forms of energy within 10 years.

While the plan doesn't have a prayer of passing in the Republican majority Senate, McConnell's intentions should be clear to any avid follower of US politics. Now that no fewer than five Democratic Senators have announced their 2020 campaigns, McConnell is going to force them to make a choice with potentially major consequences down the line:

Rep. Omar Labeled Anti-Semitic for Pointing Out the Problematic Role of AIPAC

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) apologized this afternoon for what many saw as anti-Semitic comments discussing links between AIPAC, as well as other Zionist lobbying efforts and money, and American policy output. She quote tweeted journalist and Intercept co-founding editor Glenn Greenwald, who said: "GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy threatens punishment for @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib over their criticisms of Israel. It's stunning how much time US political leaders spend defending a foreign nation even if it means attacking free speech rights of Americans," and she added that McCarthy's motives were "all about the Benjamins." When people asked what she meant, Omar tweeted, "AIPAC," referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group that has spent millions sending lawmakers on visits to the Jewish nation over the years. What did Congresswoman Omar say or tweet, and was it anti-Semitic?

Trump's pick for Brett Kavanaugh's old judgeship apologizes for writing in college that date rape victims share responsibility for their own sexual assaults

Neomi Rao, President Donald Trump's nominee for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's now-open federal court seat, apologized for columns she wrote as a Yale University student that said date rape victims share responsibility for their assault.

'Sexual assault in all forms, including date rape, is abhorrent. Responsibility for the rape is with the rapist. I believed that as a college student and continue to believe that today,' she wrote in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, CNN reported. 'As a society, we should create an environment where survivors feel empowered and comfortable coming forward. I am sorry for anything in my college writings to the contrary.'

During her confirmation hearing last week, Rao told senators she cringes at some of the language used as a college student when writing about controversial topics such as sexual assault, race and equal rights for women.

Embattled Virginia governor plans statewide 'listening tour' to argue he should keep his job despite blackface scandal

Embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is planning a 'listening tour' to meet with citizens in his commonwealth as his 'blackface' scandal continues and he vowed to remain in his post.

Cohen has largely been banished from mainstream media.

The Israeli Lobby Is the Deep State

This week the Intercept reported on the firestorm created by Rep. Ilhan Omar when she audaciously cited the AIPAC lobby as being behind a political smear campaign against her. The Intercept reported,

“…Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., responded sharply to reports that Republican leader Kevin McCarthy was targeting both Omar and fellow Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan.

Omar quoted rap lyrics — “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” — to suggest McCarthy’s move was driven by the lobby’s prolific spending. Asked specifically who she was referring to, Omar responded, “AIPAC!” (The Intercept)

Don’t blame the Israel lobby on Christians and Republicans

Let’s say your neighbor’s barn burned down and she came to you and said she’d seen your son running from the barn, and you talked to your son and he said, Well I got the rags and kerosene but Jimmy Jones got the matches; and you went back to your neighbor and said, You really need to be talking to Jimmy Jones, leave my family out of it.

That would of course be the height of irresponsibility, but it is the stance of a lot of Jewish writers when anyone mentions the Israel lobby. They say, Don’t blame the Jewish establishment; it’s Christian evangelicals who drive U.S. policy.

Bret Stephens said it the other day in the New York Times: American Jews have “wealth without political power.” Paul Waldman said it in the Washington Post: Ben Cardin and other Democratic senators were serving a rightwing agenda in pushing the Israel Anti-Boycott Act (which was pushed by a leading Jewish organization, AIPAC).

In December 2018, Syed “Saqib” Ali, an outspoken proponent of BDS and co-founder of Maryland grassroots pro-BDS organization Freedom2Boycott, found two potentially lucrative contracts open for bidding. He intended to apply for both, judging his 20-years experience in tech would make him a formidable contender.

It isn’t just about ‘the Benjamins’, Ilhan

Newly-elected Ilhan Omar isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and smack issues in the face, stirring up a hornet’s nest of angry reaction from Republicans and Democrats alike. The Minnesota Congresswoman, one of two Muslim women now in the US House of Representatives, stepped into controversy this week when she responded to a tweet by journalist Glenn Greenwald.

The co-founder of the online newspaper The Intercept is perhaps best known for his writings on Edward Snowden, the former CIA whistle blower. Greenwald criticised California’s Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy who demanded that his colleagues censor Omar and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for their powerful criticism of Israel which, lest we forget, is a foreign country.

Former Israeli spies tried to influence local US election: Report

A defunct private intelligence agency in Israel attempted to influence at least one local US election and other domestic affairs, according to a report by US media.
