The American Civil Liberties Union won an early victory today in its federal lawsuit arguing that a Kansas law requiring a public school educator to certify that she won’t boycott Israel violates her First Amendment rights.

A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of the law while the case filed in October proceeds. It is the first ruling addressing a recent wave of laws nationwide aiming to punish people who boycott Israel.

The law, which took effect on July 1, requires that any person or company that contracts with the state submit a written certification that they are “not currently engaged in a boycott of Israel.” The ACLU is also currently fighting a case filed in December against a similar law in Arizona.

Erik Prince, former head of mercenary business Blackwater, revealed in a bombshell interview Friday that he attended a meeting in Trump Tower with Donald Trump Jr. and a representative of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to discuss “Iran policy” during the presidential campaign.

The interview marked the first time Prince has publicly acknowledged such a meeting. Prince said in congressional testimony in 2017 that he had no “official” or “unofficial” role in the campaign — other than a “yard sign” and writing “papers” — according to the transcript of his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee. Nor did he mention the meeting in his testimony, according to transcripts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Tom Perez, a word, please. You are a very brilliant and accomplished gentleman, and I am sure that your family is very proud of your accomplishments.

But that being said, sir, the last paragraph I've posted, makes me a little sick to my stomach, and angry that these folks are still fixated on Trump's election, and have zero proof of amy illegal foreign money making it into Trump's coffers. Notice the phrase: "MAY have provided illegal international aid to sway the American election."

So here is a heartfelt plea to this countries' Dementocrats from an independent centerist progressive; please, everyone, can you cage the rage , and manage to focus on 2020, and not on the 2016 election?!?

There are a lot of things President Trump has pledged in his campaign which haven't been delivered, and in preparing for 2020, you need to balance those unmet challenges with intelligent solutions, and give the American people something (and someone) behind which the American people can rally?!?

You did this with the election of John Kennedy, a president about whom all Americans could feel proud; yes, he had his moral weaknesses, but they did not affect his presidency.

Why, please, is this not possible now?!?

Because I need to make this argument as clearly to you as I can; having to hold one's nose, because time and time again, the American people feel like they have to vote for the lesser of two evils, which is still voting for evil.

Can you possibly please manage to find a candidate that doesn't have more baggage than does Kim Kardashian on a photo shoot?!?!?

You're welcome!!

Gabbard's Pro-INF Bill Has 'No Chance' Due to Military-Industrial Complex Lobby

In a last-ditch effort to keep the US from exiting the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), Democratic Party presidential hopeful Tulsi Gabbard introduced a draft bill to Congress which would prevent the authorization of government funds for the testing, procurement or deployment of any missile prohibited under the treaty.

Congress released the full text of Gabbard's bill, dubbed the INF Treaty Compliance Act of 2019, this week, with the proposed legislation originally introduced by the Hawaii congresswoman in mid-February for deliberation by the House Armed Services Committee.

Gabbard had earlier described Trump's decision to pull out of the 1987 treaty as a "reckless" move which could exacerbate "a new Cold War" with Russia. The bill has now been cosponsored by six Democratic lawmakers, including Ilhan Omar, James McGovern, Mark Pocan, Barbara Lee, Raul M. Grijalva, Eleanor Holmes Norton and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Bernie Sanders: Still Progressive Except for Palestine

A text message appeared on my phone a few days ago from the newly-minted Bernie Sanders campaign. The message reported the “HUGE NEWS” that Sanders “JUST” announced he is running, and asking me if I’m ‘in.’ I texted back, asking about his position on Palestine, and was told where I could donate to the Sanders campaign. For whatever reason, I wasted my time with a few more texts, and got responses such as “I understand, have a great day!” Eventually, the question was answered, and it was the same tired refrain we hear from any PEP politician. That response is included here in its entirety:

“In response to you (sic) first message, he supports diplomatic efforts to end the occupation and broker a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine which allows both peoples to coexist in peace, security and dignity. He also supports steps to put pressure on both sides in response to policies that undermine that goal.”

The Fake News Nazi - Corbyn, Williamson And The Anti-Semitism Scandal

One of us had a discussion with an elderly relative:

'He can't be allowed to become Prime Minister.'

'Why not?'

'It's so awful...'

'What is?'

'The way he hates the Jews.'

The last comment was spoken with real anguish, the result of continuous exposure to just two main news sources: the Daily Mail and the BBC.

What is astonishing is that, just four years ago, essentially no-one held this view of Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn first became an MP in 1983. He stood for the Labour leadership 32 years later, in May 2015. We searched the ProQuest database for UK newspaper articles containing:

'Jeremy Corbyn' and 'anti-semitism' before 1 May 2015 = 18 hits

'Jeremy Corbyn' and 'anti-semitism' after 1 May 2015 = 11,251 hits

None of the 18 hits accused Corbyn of anti-semitism. For his first 32 years as an MP, it just wasn't a theme associated with him.

Keep It Up, Ilhan Omar

Maybe Mogadishu will turn out to be the source of hope. This war-torn city was the birthplace of the most promising U.S. congresswoman today.

Ilhan Omar is not only one of the first two female Muslim members of the House of Representatives, she may herald a dramatic change in that body. “Hamas has entered the House,” Roseanne Barr was quick to cry out; “A black day for Israel,” tweeted Donald Trump. Neither Hamas nor a black day, but a glimmer of hope on Capitol Hill.

Maybe, for the first time in history, someone will dare tell the truth to the American people, absorbing scathing accusations of anti-Semitism, without bowing her head. The chances of this happening aren’t great; the savage engine of the Jewish lobby and of Israel’s “friends” is already doing everything it can to trample her.

Thanks to FEE (Foundation for Economic Education) for this eye opening article – what does the Khmer Rouge have in common with Democratic Socialism? Democratic Socialists are just mass murderers waiting in the wings for an opportunity to ply their trade. Remember that SOCIALISM IS FOR THE RICH!

“Social justice” is a nebulous and amorphous canard that cannot be clearly, concisely and cogently confirmed let alone defined. It is an obscure, but very effective tool for tyrants and mass murderers to oppress, intimidate cajole and compel people into the pig pen of Communist society. By the way, have you noticed that those who run Communism are always well fed pigs! Read George Orwell’s Animal farm to see how easily the masses can be propagandized and manipulated into the herd mentality.

The right's revealing hypocrisy over Rep. Ilhan Omar's comments is painful to watch

Right wing radio host and commentator Ben Shapiro wrote a book in 2014 called, “Bullies: How the Left's Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans.” Praising the book Sean Hannity said, “Ben Shapiro shows once and for all that the left is the single greatest source of bullying in modern American life.”

Shapiro and Hannity are now among those bullying Congresswoman Ilhan Omar — smearing her as anti-Semitic because of her criticism of the state of Israel and calling for her to face official penalties by loosing her committee assignments. Omar, it bears pointing out for the conservative set, is an American — and Hannity, Shapiro and the right are trying desperately to silence her.

The right wing is the single greatest source of hypocrisy in modern American life.

Ilhan Omar Viciously Trashes Barack Obama, Basically Calls Him A Total Fraud

Ilhan Omar just committed the cardinal sin in Democratic politics – she trashed Barack Obama with a blistering rebuke.

She, and this is even more devastating for the left, said we should not be angry at Trump because he is more of the same from the DC establishment.

The Democrats, who have been trying to paint Trump as an absolute monster for two years, will be furious that Omar says Trump and Obama are similar and both are tools of the establishment.

She goes on to call him a ‘polished mirage’ – in other words, a fraud – before accusing him of committing atrocities with is drone program and blasts him for caging kids at the border.

Ilhan Omar: Obama’s a ‘pretty face’ who got ‘away with murder’

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar ripped former President Barack Obama in an interview published Friday, belittling his “pretty face” and saying his agenda of hope and change was an illusion.

Pence Asked Merkel to Provoke Russia by Sending Warships to Crimea

The U.S. leaned on German Chancellor Angela Merkel last month to conduct a naval maneuver in Russia’s backyard aimed at provoking President Vladimir Putin, according to three people familiar with the talks.

At a Feb. 16 meeting at the Munich Security Conference, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence urged Merkel to send German warships through a narrow channel between the Crimean peninsula and mainland Russia to show Putin that Western powers won’t surrender their access to those waters, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

CNN Ends Interview When Venezuelan Guest Warns Radical Dems Endangering America

CNN certainly knows how to end an interview when things get a bit out of hand.

Take, for instance, the network’s recent segment with Daniel Di Martino. Di Martino is a Venezuelan expatriate who supports an international force coming to the aid of U.S.-recognized Venezuelan President Juan Guaidó and to end the violence and impoverishment that the country is facing.

He’s also the author of a USA Today piece titled “Venezuela was my home, and socialism destroyed it. Slowly, it will destroy America, too.”

The folks at CNN’s “New Day” were OK with hearing about the first part. However, when Di Martino talked about his piece and issued a stark warning about the Democrats and the direction they were taking, they CNN hosts were much happier to bring the interview to an end.

Facebook announces plan to 'tackle vaccine misinformation'

Amid growing calls from health experts to stem the tide of misinformation spread by anti-vaccination groups on social media, Facebook announced on Thursday that it would reduce the visibility of inaccurate posts and reject ads that include such content.

"We are working to tackle vaccine misinformation on Facebook by reducing its distribution and providing people with authoritative information on the topic," said a blog post by Monika Bickert, Facebook's vice-president of global policy management.

In recent years, groups trying to promote an anti-vaccine agenda have been able to spread their messages — largely uncensored — on Facebook, YouTube and other social media sites. Public health authorities believe these posts have frightened some parents into "vaccine hesitancy."

Election Finance Fraud: Is Ocasio-Cortez Going to Jail?

A complaint was filed this week with the Federal Election Committee accusing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top campaign aide of shuffling more than $1 million in political donations to his personal private companies during the 2018 election. According to the Washington Examiner, that aide – Saikat Charabarti – could be facing stiff legal penalties for using the money in this way, and Ocasio-Cortez herself could be deemed liable for the misappropriation of donated funds.

The complaint, which was filed by watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center, says that Chakrabarti set up the companies for the specific purpose of funneling donations through an empty shell while avoiding the deeper scrutiny of the FEC. This allowed the political activist to use the money in ways that could not be publicly vetted.

In an interview with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on Wednesday night, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said that Democrats were engaged in nothing less than “vicious character assassination” in their war against President Donald Trump.

Responding to the news that the House Judiciary Committee was requesting documents from more than 80 of Trump’s associates, Gingrich said that Democrats were now going well beyond their proper role of federal oversight by delving into the president’s career and personal life he led before getting into politics.

Americans are led to believe that they have a choice, and that is the strength of our “democracy”. Let’s first clear the air about “democracy”. You will not find that word anywhere in the Declaration of Independence, or the Constitution. America is without a doubt (see 10 minute and 5 minute follow up videos linked here) a republic. Here’s why; a republic is “rule by law”. The Constitution is the “supreme law of the land”, or so it says, although those in power and their financiers behind the scenes don’t want it to be so. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance by those who are ruled, and hopefully for the republic’s sake by the rulers themselves. As a republic, there are certain laws (rights) that are inalienable (can’t be taken away) and “God given” which means there is no higher authority over those rights.

REPORT: Cohen Met With Schiff’s Staff Numerous Times Before Hearing

Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen told investigators that House Intelligence Committee staffers for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) traveled to New York to meet with him multiple times “immediately before” last month’s hearing on Capitol Hill, according to a Fox News report.
Two sources told Fox News that Cohen said the staffers traveled to New York at least four times and met with him for over 10 hours.

Fox News writes, “The sources said the sessions covered a slew of topics addressed during the public hearing before the oversight committee — including the National Enquirer’s “Catch and Kill” policy, American Media CEO David Pecker and the alleged undervaluing of President Trump’s assets.”

Republicans, however, are not convinced of the news and Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) sent a letter to Cohen’s attorneys demanding answers.

Founder of massage parlor where Robert Kraft was arrested is a Trump donor, frequent Mar-a-Lago partygoer and White House guest who was seen watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl with the president

The Chinese entrepreneur who founded Orchids of Asia Day Spa & Massage was seen rooting for the New England Patriots at Mar-a-Lago alongside President Donald Trump early last month.

Li Yang shared a photo of herself and a friend sitting directly behind President Trump at the event, which took place just two weeks before Patriots owner Robert Kraft would be charged with two counts of misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution for incidents that allegedly transpired at that spa.

Kraft is accused of visiting the spa on two consecutive days in January, with a worker performing a manual sex act on the billionaire during his first appointment while another worker performed an oral sex act during his second sojourn.

He is planning to fight those charges and denies claims he was the recipient of any sexual act at the spa, despite police claiming there is video evidence in the case.

Kraft is one of Trump's closest friends, while Yang is one with deep pockets.

JUST IN: Judicial Watch Uncovers Records Showing Numerous Bruce Ohr Communications with Fusion GPS and Dossier Author Steele

Once again Judicial Watch is doing the heavy lifting.
Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch announced Thursday it obtained 339 pages of very heavily redacted records from the DOJ that show former top Justice Department official Bruce Ohr regularly communicating with former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steel after the FBI terminated Steele for breaking FBI informant protocol by speaking to the media.

Judicial Watch obtained these documents from a March 2018 FOIA lawsuit against the Justice Department.

The documents reveal Bruce Ohr repeatedly thanked Christopher Steele for updates and assured him that he would pass along the info to his colleagues.

Bruce Ohr acted as a liaison for the FBI and Steele and set up meetings with Steele and regularly spoke to him over the phone.

Nadler leading Cold War-style 'inquisition' against Trump, House Judiciary panel's ranking Republican says

The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee unloaded on the panel's chairman, Jerry Nadler, in a fiery letter on Thursday, accusing the New York Democrat of conducting an unconstitutional "inquisition" into President Trump and his associates "reminiscent of Eastern regimes during the Cold War."

Nadler, who would oversee any impeachment proceedings against President Trump, this week announced dozens of document requests -- including to the National Rifle Association (NRA), WikiLeaks and key figures in the Trump Organization -- in a barrage that Nadler called the opening salvo in new and wide-ranging investigations into the White House.

Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member on the committee, charged that Nadler's investigation runs "afoul of nearly 150 years of Supreme Court precedent and over 200 years of oversight conducted by this committee."

Ilhan Omar Takes Victory Lap: Antisemitism Resolution First Vote Against ‘Anti-Muslim Bigotry’

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) celebrated the passage of a resolution against antisemitism in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, even though her own antisemitic remarks triggered the vote, because it was the first time Congress had condemned “Anti-Muslim bigotry.”

The World Jewish Congress criticized Democrats for “watering down” language on antisemitism after including a variety of other groups that had little or no relation to the controversy. The resolution also failed to name Omar.

But how does it stack up in the truth-telling department when it comes to former presidents? To determine that, you can watch its new series, The Bush Years: Family, Duty, Power, to air tonight — and then come see a small selection of what we have unearthed.

Kahane in, Arabs out: Israeli election panel disqualifies Palestinian party calling for equality, approves racist Jewish Power leader

Just hours after chairman of the far right Otzma Yehudit, or “Jewish Power” party, Michael Ben Ari was approved by Israel’s Central Election Committee to run for the Knesset on Wednesday, the same committee disqualified the joint Arab slate Balad-United Arab List from running.

The decisions were made despite recommendations from Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit who said Ben Ari should be disqualified, while the Balad-UAL list should be allowed to run. It is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court.

In addition to the disqualification of Balad-UAL, the committee ruled to prevent Ofer Cassif, a Jewish representative in Hadash, from running. The claim against Cassif was, that he “denied the existence of Israel as a Jewish state”, and in the case of UAL-Balad it also included “supporting terror” (Haaretz, Hebrew).

Ilhan Omar and the anatomy of a trope

Representative Ilhan Omar’s straight-talk about the corruption of the US political process by a foreign government was a service to her country, as well as to the cause of justice and peace in the Middle East. Omar impaled a great taboo with the first name of a remarkable, multi-talented eighteenth century American hero whose portrait appears on $100 bills. Outraged agents of that foreign government, aided by US politicians who know the truth of her words better than anyone, kicked in the center beam holding up the sky — but to their horror, the sky did not quite fall. True, she was branded a peddler of age-old tropes; yet it was difficult not to notice that the emperor was, indeed, naked.

Feds gorge themselves on lobster as part of $97bn end-of-fiscal year spending spree – report

Federal agencies splurged on lobster tail and other gratuitous frills in just one month in a convoluted plot to avoid future budget cuts, a new report claims. The spending orgy has received dozens of 1-star reviews on Twitter.

A jaw-dropping study published by a transparency NGO, OpenTheBooks, found that in the last month of fiscal year 2018 (September), the feds forked out an unfathomable $97 billion on essentials such as sirloin steak, snow crab, lobster tail, golf carts, iPads and of course – lest we forget – bombs. Is Socialism the Future of America?

Talk of socialism in America in the past was mostly relegated to historical conversations, academia, and certain populist movements, but aspiring politicians and elites today pretend to promote this ideology openly and with pride. This change in attitude is ignored by many, but is a significant transition. In order for this phenomenon to take root, a general sense of despair and envy among the people must be evident. The psychological mindset necessary for the acceptance of socialism is one ripe for exploitation, and if truly advanced would rock the foundation of elite power. But is that likely? I think not.

Paul Manafort Sentenced To Less Than 4 Years In Prison In Mueller Probe

A federal judge here sentenced former Trump campaign chairman and longtime Republican operative Paul Manafort to less than four years in prison on Thursday in a case that grew out of Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The prison term, handed down by U.S. District Judge T. S. Ellis III in a packed federal courtroom in suburban Virginia, is the first of two sentences for Manafort, who turns 70 next month. Judge Ellis said he believed a sentence in the guideline range of 19 to 24 years would be “excessive,” and said Manafort “has lived an otherwise blameless life.”

Jewish Labour Movement was refounded to fight Corbyn

The Jewish Labour Movement was revived in 2015 to battle Jeremy Corbyn, The Electronic Intifada can reveal.

A right-wing organization with intimate ties to the Israeli embassy, the Jewish Labour Movement claims to have been affiliated to Labour for a century.

But a transcript of an undercover recording, obtained by The Electronic Intifada, casts doubt on this narrative.

It indicates that the dormant Jewish Labour Movement was revived by political allies of Israel as a weapon against Corbyn, the left and the wider Palestine solidarity movement.

Jewish Labour Movement chair Jeremy Newmark told a members only function on 13 September 2016 that “a bunch of us sat in a coffee shop in Golders Green” around September 2015 to “talk about re-forming the JLM to do something with it,” the transcript of unused footage shot by Al Jazeera shows.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Effect

Thus, what was supposed to be a morale-boosting quickie regime-change operation to cheer up the rank and file on the road to Tehran – the overthrow of Nicolas Maduro’s sanctions-starved socialist state in Venezuela, the oil-rich fly in the ointment of “our own backyard” – has become just another entry on a long list of ignominious failures. Even the truest of true believers can no longer pretend that the US is in the business of spreading democracy – not when all the evidence and information available points the other way. The only remedy left for the “sole superpower” is to cut off the flow of information entirely and build an informational Iron Dome, an epistemological missile shield capable of withstanding all truth.

Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?
