SYRIAN WAR REPORT – DEC. 17, 2018: SYRIAN ARMY IS SET TO RESPOND TO ANY FUTURE ISRAELI ATTACKS

The Syrian Armed Forces will respond by force to any Israeli attack on its bases as a part of new policy, which was adopted by the Syrian leadership following the incident with the Russian Il-20 plane last September, the Kuwaiti al-Ra’i newspaper reported on December 15 citing a high-ranked Syrian official.

The unnamed official clarified that “this means that a strike on an airport in Syria will be met with a strike on an airport in Israel and so on.”

According to the same report, Moscow gave Damascus a green light for such actions in response to attacks that would destroy Syrian military capabilities or kill foreign advisers supporting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The source denounced Israel’s claims regarding the destruction of the Syrian missile capabilities and claimed that Damascus had received medium and long range missiles guided with the Russian satellite navigation system, GLONASS. The report says that the SAA can use these missiles to respond to Israeli attacks.

Russia's New Rules Of Engagement In Syria

Syria will adopt a new rule of engagement with Israel now that Russia has taken a tougher and clearer stance on the conflict between Israel and the “Axis of the Resistance”. Henceforth, Damascus will be responding to any Israeli strike. If it damages a specific military target it will reply with a strike against a similar objective in Israel. Decision makers in Damascus said, “Syria will not hesitate to hit an Israeli airport if Damascus airport is targeted and hit by Israel. This will be with the consent of the Russian military based in the Levant.”

US Commits To "Indefinite" Occupation Of Syria; Controls Region The Size Of Croatia

"We don't want the Americans. It's occupation" — a Syrian resident in US-controlled Raqqa told Stars and Stripes military newspaper. This as the Washington Post noted this week that "U.S. troops will now stay in Syria indefinitely, controlling a third of the country and facing peril on many fronts."

External Actors' Standoff Holds Syria Stabilisation Back – Ex-Turkish Minister

Full stabilization of the situation in Syria will take time because of conflicting interests pursued by key global and regional powers involved in the conflict, former Turkish Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis said on Thursday.

'Stabilization in Syria is not for tomorrow. I don't see any bright future light at the end of the tunnel. It may continue to become more stable but its full stabilization is not for tomorrow. Because the major actors [such as] the United States, European countries, Turkey, Russia and Iran have divergent views, divergent approaches. Their policies [are] not the same,' Yakis, who served as Turkish foreign minister from November 2002 till March 2003, said.

The statement was made at a panel discussion in Moscow, centring around Turkey's relations with Russia and the European Union in light of recent developments in the Middle East.

US-backed Kurdish militants slam Turkish threats as 'declaration of war'

The so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a US-backed coalition of mainly Kurdish militants that maintains a grip on northeastern Syria, together with its component, the People’s Protection Units (YPG), have censured Turkish threats of a new operation in the crisis-hit Arab country as a “declaration of war”, calling on world powers to stop the assault.

“All the forces in north and east Syria...are asked to agree on strategies to confront this aggression,” they said in a statement released on Friday.

Syrian Kurdish militant groups have vowed to fight “to the death” in the event of a new Turkish operation in northeastern Syria.

In America's hidden war in Syria, troops face peril on many fronts

This ruined, fearful city was once the Islamic State's capital, the showcase of its caliphate and a magnet for foreign fighters from around the globe.

Now it lies at the heart of the United States' newest commitment to a Middle East war.

The commitment is small, a few thousand troops who were first sent to Syria three years ago to help the Syrian Kurds fight the Islamic State. President Donald Trump indicated in March that the troops would be brought home once the battle is won, and the latest military push to eject the group from its final pocket of territory recently got underway.

In September, however, the administration switched course, saying the troops will stay in Syria pending an overall settlement to the Syrian war and with a new mission: to act as a bulwark against Iran's expanding influence.

The Entire Nation Mobilized, Syria has Won the War against US-Sponsored Terrorism

Yes, there is rubble, in fact total destruction, in some of the neighborhoods of Homs, Aleppo, in the outskirts of Damascus, and elsewhere.

Yes, there are terrorists and ‘foreign forces’ in Idlib and in several smaller pockets in some parts of the country.

Yes, hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives and millions are either in exile, or internally displaced.

But the country of Syria is standing tall.

It did not crumble like Libya or Iraq did. It never surrendered. It never even considered surrender as an option. It went through total agony, through fire and unimaginable pain, but in the end, it won. It almost won. And the victory will, most likely, be final in 2019.

Up to 15,000 Syrian rebels ready to back Turkish operation in northeast

Up to 15,000 Syrian rebels are ready to join a Turkish military offensive against U.S.-backed Kurdish forces in northeast Syria, but no date has been set for the operation, a spokesman for the main Turkish-backed Syrian rebel group said on Thursday.

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Turkey would launch the offensive in a few days, targeting a border region east of the Euphrates river which is held by the YPG Kurdish militia.

The announcement prompted a sharp rebuke from the Pentagon, which said any unilateral military action into northeast Syria would be unacceptable.

The United States has been supporting the YPG in the fight against Islamic State insurgents since 2015. Following cross-border shelling from Turkey into Kurdish-controlled territory two months ago, U.S. forces have set up three military observation posts near the border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, let me get my head around this; the US government is supporting the Kurds in Syria, but Edrogan wants the Kurds completely out of Syria; so are we now looking at a war with a sister NATO member, if things don't go in the direction the US wants?!?

How in heaven's name, did we get here in Syria, a country which did not ask for our assistance, but has reached out to to Russia and Iran for military aid, which was granted?!?

What happens if we tick off the Russians, or attempt to break into Russian air space?!?

There are a myriad of bad scenarios possible, with this announced raid, that I have to wonder about Erdogan's sanity; is he looking at claiming that this area where the the fighting will happen, as part of Turkey?!? YIKES!!!

Russia Slams Illegal US Occupation of Southwest Syria

On Tuesday a top Russian military official slammed the United States for “illegally occupying” a massive zone in southwest Syria surrounding the American garrison of al-Tanf, effectively protecting some 6,000 armed militants that Russia has designated terrorists.

The Head of Russia’s National Defense Control Center, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, called the US-occupied area “the last stronghold of evil” which continues to fester with militants “on the territory of the independent state.” He identified a 55 km zone surrounding the base in a desert region along the Syrian-Iraq border, which American special forces and US-backed FSA groups have held since 2016 after taking the key crossing from ISIS.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – DEC. 14, 2018: RUSSIAN FORCES START SIEGE OF US BASE IN AT-TANF

Russian forces have established several military positions near the US-controlled zone of at-Tanf, pro-government media activists reported on December 12.

A source familiar with the situation, told SouthFront that several air-defense systems and other military equipment were deployed at the Russian positions. More weapons, including heavy rocket launchers, are reportedly expected to arrive there in the upcoming few days.

The Saudi London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat even claimed that Russia is going to deploy an S-300 system to the province of Deir Ezzor. However, this type of rumors is common for the Saudi outlet, which has been actively working to fuel tensions between the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance and the US-Israeli-led bloc as well as between Russia and Iran.

Syria condemns "illegal excavations" by U.S., France, Turkey in northern Syria

The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned what it called the "illegal excavations" in historic sites in northern Syria by the United States, France and Turkey, state news agency SANA reported.

The excavations are being carried out in the northern cities of Manbij and Afrin in Aleppo Province as well as in ancient sites in the northern cities of Idlib, Hasakah and Raqqa.

The ministry said it has information that the illegal excavation work has been increased in the areas where the aforementioned forces have a presence and a clout over local militia groups.

"These actions represent a new war crime added to the crimes committed against the Syrian people and the Syrian heritage," said the ministry, adding that the looting of artifacts is part of the scheme to destroy the cultural heritage and historic identity of Syria.

BBC CLAIMS CHEMICAL WEAPONS HELPED ASSAD BUT FAILS TO EXPLAIN HOW | NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK

The BBC published an article in October titled, "How chemical weapons have helped bring Assad close to victory" in which it claims chemical weapons have been "crucial" to Syrian President Bashar Al Assad's "war-winning strategy."

Superficially - the article appears impressive - loaded from top to bottom with colorful charts, graphs, and photographs of supposed victims in gas masks, expended munitions, and craters.

However, never once does the BBC provide an actual explanation as to how chemical weapons brought Damascus closer to victory. Even at face value, the article's entire premise is challenged in each paragraph by the statistics and events the article itself presents.

Alleged Chemical Weapon Casualties are a Drop in the Ocean

The article begins by claiming (emphasis added):

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is consistently my observation, that demonization in the (alleged) press, totally fact-free, is generally a prelude toward another war against Syria by the West.

But I have to wonder at this point; does the West (AKA the US and UK) really believe that Russia will just walk away from the victory which Al Assad enjoyed after Russian involvement getting rid of the jihadists responsible for the attempted overthrow?!?

I seriously doubt this.

Russian Experts: US Supports Terrorists in Syria by Taking 50,000 Civilians Hostage in Al-Tanf
Russian experts said that the US is supporting the terrorists by incarcerating thousands of civilians in Homs province, referring to Washington's occupation of al-Tanf base in Eastern Syria

The Arabic-language website of SANA news agency quoted the experts as saying on Thursday that over 5,000 US military men are deployed in Northeastern Syria and al-Tanf region.

They added that the US troops are occupying al-Rukban camp in al-Tanf region as a cover to support the remaining ISIL terrorists in the region, while keeping 50,000 civilians in the camp as they face shortage of humanitarian aid.

The experts also said that presence of the US forces and their allies in Syria and their military measures in Syrian territories without any permission from Damascus is clear violation of the international laws, which should be prosecuted through the international court of justice as a war crime.

Other reports also said that human trafficking has increased in al-Tanf region and the terrorists plunder civilians' properties.

Pentagon: Turkish Unilateral Action in Northeast Syria Would Be 'Unacceptable'

A Turkish unilateral military operation in northeast Syria if launched would be unacceptable and Ankara should consult with the United States to address the security situation, Defense Department spokesperson Cmdr. Sean Robertson told Sputnik.

Earlier, Ankara announced that the Turkish military would launch an operation against Kurdish forces.

"Unilateral military action into northeast Syria by any party, particularly as US personnel may be present or in the vicinity, is of grave concern," Robertson said on Wednesday when asked about Turkey’s announcement. Hundreds of Terrorists Leave Yemen for Northern Syria Battlefields

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik quoted well-informed sources as disclosing that almost 400 non-Syrian terrorists have arrived in Idlib through Turkey's Southern border with Syria in the last two months.

It further said that the terrorists that had arrived in the region from Yemen crossed the Turkish border into Syria's border towns of Sarmada and Atmah in Idlib in 8 and 15-member groups, adding that the terrorists' transfer from Yemen to Idlib was supervised by a regional state.

The report did not mention the name of the regional state that had assisted the move, but said that Horras al-Deen militants have settled the newcomers in one of their bases between Idlib and Northern Hama that had been set up 20 days ago.

The news agency said that Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) has eased transfer of the terrorists to regions under Horras al-Deen's control in Idlib.

1,411 residential areas have been liberated from ISIS terrorists since the start of the Russian military operation in Syria, Head of the Russian National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said on December 11, during a joint meeting of the interdepartmental coordination of the Russian and Syrian headquarters for the return of refugees.

He noted that the Russian Armed Forces successfully completed their operation of mopping up terror groups in Syria, including thousands of ISIS fighters. According to Mizintsev, only a few ragtag US-backed groups survived in the Trans-Euphrates region and near Al-Tanf. The remaining members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (Jabhat al-Nusra) were blocked in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

US Sets Up 8 New Military Bases Near Iraq's Borders with Syria

A commander of Iraq's Hashd al-Shaabi (popular forces) revealed that the US forces have established 8 military bases in Western Iraq, near the border with Syria, warning of Washington's plots to gain control over the strategic and oil-rich region.

He added that the Americans will take control of Western and Southern al-Rotba, which has not yet been cleansed, once it is through with setting up these bases.

US-Supported Terrorists Use Toxic Chlorine against Civilians in Aleppo City. Analysis

On November 24, US-supported terrorists fired Western-supplied shells containing toxic chlorine at al-Khalidyia, al-Neel, and Jamayat al-Zahra Aleppo City neighborhoods.

Unless quickly treated, toxic chlorine inhalation can cause asphyxiation and other severe respiratory problems. According to area hospital sources, 107 civilians were admitted, suffering from what was believed to be chlorine gas inhalation, acute cases treated in intensive care.

The US, UK, France, Israel, the Saudis and Turkey are involved directly or indirectly in delivering sarin, chlorine, and other toxins to jihadists in Syria they support.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has what it called “irrefutable evidence of the use of munitions filled with toxic agents against the civilian population on November 24, 2018 in Aleppo.”

Israel announced yesterday morning a military and engineering operation, which it dubbed “Operation Northern Shield”, aimed at destroying what it alleges are offensive tunnels belonging to the Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, on the border with Lebanon. This operation represents Israel’s new approach to war, which has been Israel’s favourite in recent years. It calls this approach “the War Between Wars” (WBW) which involves fighting battles with limited goals and avoids direct confrontation, instead relying on intelligence. It focuses on air force and special forces operations in a manner in line with the army’s 2015 strategic document. Why WBW and why “Operation Northern Shield”?

Syria is a launching pad for US perpetual war in the Middle East

In the grand geopolitical framing that informs most Western analysis of the Syrian conflict, the United States has effectively ceded Syria to Russia and Iran. The US military campaign was regularly criticised for its limited scope in only targeting Islamic State group (IS) while not engaging regime military targets, except in a few incidents - so far.

These battlefield strategies paralleled feeble political efforts to shore up the United Nations-led Geneva peace process. This is taken by many, especially hawkish advocates of military intervention, as a serious abdication of US responsibility and a sign of decreasing US power.

But such assumptions that there are geopolitical winners and losers betray the trajectory of both US and Russian policy as well as the compatibility of both countries' strategies toward Syria.

These fighters reportedly surrendered 650 units of weapons and military equipment to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The chief of the general staff also praised the role of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties, which carries out humanitarian operations across the country. Ambitious Goals Have US Set for Another Long War, This Time in Syria

President Trump came into office harshly critical of endless wars in the Middle East, but seems to be staring down the barrel of another such conflict in Syria. This reflects the Pentagon’s determination to stay in the country, and the administration’s ambitious goals not being really attainable.

The US wants an “enduring defeat of ISIS,” as ever, but has also tacked onto that a full withdrawal of all Iran-backed forces from the “entirety of Syria,” along with an irreversible political process that officials have maintained can’t involve Assad or other top Syrian officials.

So in addition to wanting ISIS defeated, the US wants to ensure they never come back. Meanwhile, they want not only Iran ousted, but all Shi’ite militias in Syria. On top of that, they also want regime change, even though the rebels are all but wiped out.

US Envoy: Russia-Led Syria Peace Talks Must End

With the US seemingly gearing up for an open-ended military involvement in Syria, US envoy James Jeffrey looks to be trying to undercut any peace efforts, demanding that the world “pull the plug” on the Russia-led Astana talks.

The Astana talks involve Russia, Turkey, and Iran, and Jeffrey says the US opposes the “rather strange initiative” and wants it scrapped in favor of a new UN effort, presumably one which the US would be given a priority position in.

The US never supported the Astana process in the first place, and has demanded that the end of the Syrian War involve unconditional regime change. Russia has said they want the end state to be settled with a free election, which would include the possibility of existing officials running for office. The US says that can never be allowed.

Syrian Military Deploys Troops, Battle Tanks Near Idlib

On November 30th, Khalid al-Mahamid, a prominent figure of the Syrian opposition, revealed that there is “an international agreement” to eliminate Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Idlib. Al-Mahamid is known as the godfather of the reconciliation process which took place in southern Syria in 2018. The UAE-based businessman reportedly persuaded thousands of former FSA fighters in the governorates of Daraa and al-Quneitra to join the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) 5th Assault Corps.

On the same day, a military source told SF that units of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 4th Armored Division were redeployed from the northern al-Suwayda countryside to frontlines in the northern Lattakia countryside and the northwestern Hama countryside.

Russia expands air defense network in Syria to US dismay: Report

Russia has reportedly completed an advanced anti-access/area denial network in Syria, posing a challenge to US military presence in the Arab country and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in new report that in 2015, Russia began to establish a partial independent air defense network in Syria to protect its military assets at the Hmeimim Airbase and Tartus Naval Facility on the Mediterranean Coast.

Since then, the report said, Moscow has deployed S-300 and S-400 missile defense systems as well as four unique electronic warfare systems to Syria.

It also stationed at least one advanced 1L122-1E targeting radar and Barnaul-T mobile command-and-control system for short-range air defense systems in the war-torn state, the report added.

Dec 04 08:35

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – DEC. 4, 2018: 270 SYRIAN ARMY ELIMINATED 270 ISIS MEMBERS IN AL-SUWAYDA PROVINCE

Government forces have eliminated more than 270 ISIS members as well as seized a large amount of weapons and munition, including 12 TOW anti-tank guided missiles, in the province of al-Suwayda since middle November, Oleg Makarevich, a spokesman for the command of the Russian task force in Syria, announced on December 3.

“The terrorists had been there for a long time, flocking to the area for several months. Among them were militants who were able to leave Yarmouk and Damascus in advance and also arrived from al-Tanf. Another difficulty was that tanks and heavy artillery have very limited maneuverability there, while the militants had many grenade launchers, anti-tank missiles and 82mm mortars,” the spokesman stated.

A World Declaration of Liberation from Criminal Israel!

The Temporal Court of the World Public is now in session, the more or less honorable, Judge Visible presiding! Be seated.

“Peoples of the world, I have reviewed your petition and I find the following to be righteous and true that a criminal banking and extortion empire was created in a land, formerly known as Palestine and now, illegally known as Israel. I have studied all of the documents and briefs pertaining to the historical record of actions, events and incidents that led to the illegal and immoral founding of this parasite, crime syndicate upon the previously named territory of Palestine. I find all arguments for legitimacy and continuance of the illegal state of Israel to be untenable and declare all of them null and void.

UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY URGES ISRAEL TO COMPLETELY WITHDRAW FROM GOLAN HEIGHTS

The vote followed US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley's announcement that Washington plans to reject a UN General Assembly resolution on the Golan Heights region given the document's "anti-Israel bias".

A resolution urging Israel to withdraw from the entirety of the Golan Heights has been adopted by the majority of the countries represented in the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

The Syrian Golan resolution was approved by a vote of 99 in favor, 10 against and 66 abstentions during the UNGA's Friday session.

The document declared that Israel's decision to extend its legislation on the Golan Heights is null and void and that the Jewish state should withdraw from the strategically-important territory.

Munzer Munzer, acting charge d’affaires of Syria’s permanent delegation to the UN, accused Israel of continuing to occupy “a precious part of our land” as Syrian people there “continue to suffer because of this occupation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unless Israel is forced, militarily, to get out of the Golan, such a "give back" of this territory will only happen... when pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

Iran: Diplomacy Only Solution to Syrian Crisis

Special Assistant to Iran's Foreign Minister in Political Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari renewed Tehran's support for a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and said that the West should bring to a halt its support for the terrorist groups.

"Iran has been staunch supporter of reaching a peaceful and political solution to the crisis in Syria," Jaberi Ansari said.

The remarks by the special assistant to Iran's foreign minister in political affairs came after his meetings and talks with Syrian and Russian representatives to Astana peace talks on November 28-29 in the Kazakh capital.

Senior officials from Iran, Russia and Turkey met at the 11th round of the Astana peace talks in the Kazakh capital as part of efforts to find a permanent political solution to settle the Syrian crisis.

Israel and Syria Exchange Missiles; IDF Denies Missiles Fired, Netanyahu And Other Officials Recommended Indicted As UN Passes Anti-Israel Resolutions

By Aaron Kesel

Tensions are rising again between Israel and Syria as the two countries have exchanged missile fire over the past 24 hours.

According to The Jerusalem Post, an IDF Spokesperson confirmed that Israel’s air defense system identified a single Syrian surface-to-air missile that fell into Golan Heights after the Syrian regime stated it had downed “hostile targets” over the southern part of the country.

However, the spokesperson denied that Israel had struck an Iranian base in Syria despite several reports indicating an attack had taken place against Iranian militia...

SYRIAN FORCES ELIMINATE UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL OBJECTS NEAR DAMACUS. ISRAEL DENIES REPORTS ON ITS WARPLANE SHOOTDOWN

Last night, the Syrian Air Defense Forces (SADF) shot down several unidentified aerial objects over the district of al-Kiswah south of Damascus, according to the state-run media.

Local sources told SouthFront that the SADF had also engaged targets over Damascus and Quneitra. The recently supplied S-300 air defense system was not employed.

Pro-Israeli and pro-militant sources claimed that the Israeli Air Force had successfully destroyed multiple “Iranian” targets near Damascus.

The Israeli military has not commented on the incident itself, but said that reports regarding an Israeli aircraft or an airborne Israeli target having been hit by the SADF are false.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOV. 30, 2018: 15,000 AL-QAEDA-LINKED TERRORISTS REMAIN IN IDLIB PROVINCE

There are about 15,000 Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) terrorists in the province of Idlib and Russia is ready to provide the Syrian government with help to eliminate them, Alexander Lavrentiev, Russian presidential envoy for Syria, announced during a press conference on the sidelines of the Astana talks on November 29.

Meanwhile, reports are appearing that radical militants have been amassing forces and deploying missiles as part of the preparation for a confrontation with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the demilitarized zone.

On November 29, there was another notable armed confrontation between the SAA and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) in northern Hama. NFL units attacked SAA positions near Karnaz but were forced to withdraw under intense artillery fire. The area near the Christian town of Mahardah is also point of constant clashes between the SAA and various militant groups.

The Double Standards of US Foreign Policy

It’s easy for many Americans to perceive the effects of war as short-lived, this is in part due to mainstream media’s lack of coverage; the aftermath and hypocrisy of war are rarely presented. While the news might show the public a glimpse of the initial bombings raining down on the "US enemy," this is stealthily unveiled through the eyes of the military industrial complex, romanticizing the attacks while fascinating over the American firepower strength.

"I am guided by the beauty of our weapon," Brian Williams said cheerfully on MSNBC as he watched the Pentagon-provided footage of the US missile strike in Syria, quoting Leonard Cohen’s song "First We Take Manhattan."

Is the Trump Administration Pivoting the Fight in Syria Toward a War with Iran?

The largest American military base in Syria covers more than five hundred acres, but it can’t be seen from the road. When I visited in mid-October, on the condition that I not reveal the exact location, I thought my taxi-driver had brought me to the wrong place. All I saw were a few Kurdish soldiers standing around a barricade. But, past the checkpoint and up a hill, a vast encampment spread out before us. The perimeter was constructed of dirt berms, sod-filled gabions, and razor wire. The runway was more than a mile long, and sunk below grade, so that planes would seem to disappear as they landed. There were hastily constructed wood buildings, huge clamshell tents, stacks of shipping containers, rows of white trucks and sport-utility vehicles, prefabricated trailers housing showers and latrines, and a dusty athletic field where soldiers were jogging around a track in the desert twilight.

"MYSTERIOUS HELICOPTERS" RESCUING ISIS AND AL-QAEDA - A BRIEF TIMELINE

Although the United States government routinely denies that it in any way cooperates with ISIS, reports continue to manifest themselves demonstrating exactly the opposite, particularly in Syria. Over the course of the war and ever since the emergence of the terrorist organization on the world scene, there have been a number of “mysterious helicopters” that extract ISIS fighters from battlefields in which they are facing imminent defeat either by the legitimate government of the countries in which they are fighting, pro-government militias, or even ahead of “anti-ISIS” strikes by the alleged “anti-ISIS coalition.”

While not attempting to go in to a detailed explanation or analysis of each incident, below are a number of reports of such “airlifts of evil” that have surfaced over the last two years. The Pentagon, as mentioned above, has repeatedly denied these reports.

BIG SURPRISE - Israel denies report its jet was downed during Syria raid as ‘bogus’

The Israeli military has described reports that one of its jets was brought down while carrying out airstrikes in Syria as “bogus,” amid reports that the country’s air defense systems engaged and downed several “hostile targets”.

Israeli Defense Forces have refused to comment on the country’s alleged role in the attack, with a spokesperson saying that they’re not commenting on reports in foreign media. Yet the IDF has denied a particular report that it had lost a warplane during the raid on Syria.

A Syrian security source earlier told RIA Novosti that an Israeli jet was among the targets downed by the air defense. “Our air defense have downed an Israeli jet and four rockets before they could reach their targets,” the source said.

The Arab tribes issued a statement and firmly condemned the SDF's forced conscription of young men, saying that they will not allow their sons to join the militia.

The tribes also demanded a general strike to grow more united against the SDF.

A fresh wave of anger has covered the Arab tribes in the region as the SDF casualties in battle with ISIL includes 98 percent Arab fighters and only 2 percent Kurdish gunmen.

The Arab tribes' opposition rose after the SDF announced that young men between the ages of 18-30 have to join the militia, or will be legally prosecuted.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOV. 29, 2018: US IS ESTABLISHING ‘OBSERVATION POSTS’ ON SYRIAN-TURKISH BORDER

On November 28, Russian air-defense forces deployed intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near the Russian Hmeimim airbase in the province of Lattakia, according to local sources.

The intercepted UAV was probably an armed UAV launched by militants in a fresh attempt to attack Russian personnel and aircraft deployed at Hmeimim. The resumption of UAV attacks on Russian facilities in Syria is another sign of the wanng influence of the de-militarization agreement on Idlib province. It’s highly unlikely that radical militants are going to abandon their hostile approach anytime soon if a military operation to punish them is not launched.

Cells of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) continue their successful attacks on Turkey-led forces in the area of Afrin. ISIS Producing Chemical Weapons And Is Planning Attack In Syria

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, militants of the terrorist group Daesh [ISIS] are planning an attack on the US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to provoke an air strike by the international coalition against the Syrian Army.

“The manufactured chemical ammunition is for use against positions of the Kurdish Army, which is conducting, with the support of the United States, military operations against terrorists in the Hajin area, in the province of Deir ez-Zor,” said the Russian Defense Ministry.

Russia also believes that terrorists plan to use chemical weapons against Kurdish troops by firing close positions at Syrian government forces so they can blame Damascus and provoke a massive US air strike against Syrian troops.

ISIS to launch false flag chemical attack on Syrian Kurds – and Russian military is watching closely

Islamic State terrorists are plotting to shell Kurdish-led militia with chemical-filled munitions in Deir ez-Zor, Syria, Russian military said. The terrorists want to frame Damascus for the attack to trigger new US-led airstrikes.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) has launched production of toxin-filled mortar shells in the east of the Deir ez-Zor province, Russian military said on Wednesday. The shells are filled with chemicals by a crew of 11 terrorists, who received foreign training and came to Syria specifically to carry out the false-flag attack.

US Military Says It Can’t Take Out Remaining ISIS Fighters Because They’re Hiding In Tunnels

As 2018 draws to a close, it is unclear if U.S. troops and their Arab-Kurdish allies have made a dent in ISIS’ last stronghold in Syria.

A spokesman for U.S. military operations in Iraq and Syria estimated in December 2017 that fewer than 3,000 ISIS fighters remained in both countries. Since then, defense officials have said consistently that roughly 2,000 ISIS fighters are trapped in Syria’s Middle Euphrates River Valley.

Army Col. Sean Ryan, a spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, repeated the 2,000 figure when briefing reporters on Tuesday. However, it is difficult to determine exactly how many ISIS fighters remain in their last enclave in Syria because they are dug in deeply and the terrain is difficult for combat operations, he said.

“The numbers game is difficult to count because ISIS is underground – they’re in tunnels; they’re hiding,” Ryan said. “So it’s not like we watch them walk into to a building and we’re counting as they go in. They’re spread apart.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This response, is Orwellian double-speak, writ large.

IF the US military knows where these tunnels are, why do they not then blow them up?!?

Perhaps because they want to "save and groom" these US-funded and equipped forces to fight another day?!?

Trump Admin Mum on Syria “Rebel” Chemical Attack in Aleppo

On Saturday evening, a barrage of mortars filled with chemical weapons was launched into Syrian government-controlled territory in the Aleppo province by “rebels” linked to al Qaeda in the nearby Idlib province.

The attack – which was confirmed by both pro-government and pro-opposition sources – left over 100 civilians hospitalized after the gas released by the mortars caused “difficulty breathing, eye inflammation, shivering and fainting,” according to the head of the Aleppo Doctors Syndicate, Zaher Batal, as cited by Reuters. Batal and other Aleppo doctors suspect that chlorine gas was the substance responsible for the symptoms of those affected.

Despite the fact that chemical weapons were used by al Qaeda-linked militants in Idlib, the U.S. government and its allies have thus far been silent about the recent attack, even though the incident was covered by mainstream Western outlets such as CNN and Reuters. Instead, the U.S. announced a UN Security Council meeting — not to denounce the chemical-weapons attacks launched against civilians by an internationally recognized terror group but to address the recent hostilities between Russia and Ukraine over Crimea.

US Envoy: US, Russian Forces Have Clashed a Dozen Times in Syria

Speaking to Russian reporters, US Ambassador James Jeffrey, the special representative for the Syrian War, was asked to comment on incidents in which US troops killed large numbers of Russian military contractors working for the Syrian government. Jeffrey refused to offer details of that incident, but revealed that US and Russian forces have gotten into around a dozen clashes inside Syria over the course of the war, sometimes with direct exchanges of gunfire. Jeffrey further insisted that all the US troops in Syria are “legitimately” there to fight against ISIS, and that all the fighting against Russia was in keeping with the US “right of self-defense.” Russia has not commented on the engagements. Perhaps the most curious aspect of all of this is that, other than the incident in which the US killed all of the Russian contractors, these direct confrontations have largely gone unreported.

US Sets Up Observation Posts Along Syria-Turkey Border

The US has set up at least five observation posts alongside Turkey's border with Syria despite strong opposition by Ankara, a Kurdish commander said Monday. The Arabic-language Sharq al-Awsat quoted an unnamed Kurdish military commander as saying that the US forces started the operations to set up observation posts in regions under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces along Syria-Turkey border. "The US forces have set up three observation posts in Tal Abyaz region in Northern Raqqa and two others in Kobani in Northeastern Aleppo," the Kurdish commander said. He noted that the move by the US comes as Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar had previously voiced displeasure over the US plan to set up observation posts along borders with Syria, and said the US measure will make the situation more complicated.

Airstrikes by the US-led coalition warplanes killed many more civilians in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur, informed sources said on Monday. "The US-led coalition warplanes struck the homes of civilians in the town of al-Shaafa in Eastern Deir Ezzur, killing at least 14 civilians from a family most of them children and women," battlefield sources in Eastern Deir Ezzur said. The sources noted that many other civilians were also injured in the US airstrikes on the residential areas. "A large number of houses were destroyed and the region's infrastructure was extensively damaged in the US warplanes' raids," the sources added. Meantime, the Orient Base affiliated to militant groups reported that the US-led coalition fighter jets also targeted and pounded the village of Abu al-Hassan on the outskirts of the city of Hajin in Eastern Deir Ezzur, leaving at least 21 civilians dead and many others wounded.

Tahrir Al-Sham's Chlorine Attack on Aleppo Shows Turkey's Lack of Control

The Arabic-language Al-Watan newspaper quoted sources close to Nureddin al-Zinki terrorist group as saying that Tahrir al-Sham terrorists were responsible for the chlorine gas attack on residential areas in Aleppo. "The attacks on Aleppo's residential areas were done by rockets and shells that had been chemically armed by White Helmets," the sources said. The sources noted that Tahrir al-Sham's chemical attacks were launched from the demilitarized zone specified under the Sochi agreement. The attacks from the demilitarized zone display that Ankara has no control over the terrorist groups operating in zone, and has thus failed to hold up its end of the bargain. In a relevant development on Sunday, Syrian Foreign Ministry said that the Aleppo chlorine shelling was made possible because Western countries had been supplying weapons to militants so that they staged chemical attacks.

Russian Jets Hit Targets at Militants' Staging Ground for Aleppo Chemical Attack

Syrian media reported on Saturday that militants based north of Aleppo bombarded the city with chlorine-filled shells, causing over a hundred people to be delivered to hospitals with symptoms typical for poisoning such as suffocation.

Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed that Russian jets hit the targets of terorrists who had reportedly shelled Aleppo with deadly chlorine gas on Saturday.

According to the ministry, intelligence services identified in the Idlib de-escalation zone the fire weapons that were used in the Aleppo gas attack. They also found that the terrorists were preparing for another poisonous shelling. All the targets were destroyed; Turkey was warned about the strikes in advance via a hotline.

The statement further noted that terrorists from the al-Nusra* group used hand-made 120-mm mines with poisonous substances to shell Aleppo.

US Training 30,000 Syrian Kurdish Fighters to ‘Contain Iran’

Following Defense Secretary James Mattis’ announcement that the US is building observation posts on the Syria-Turkey border, officials are also starting a training program for the Kurdish YPG’s Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The plan is to train 30,000 more SDF fighters, which are being presented as a plan to both combat what ISIS fighters remain and to “contain Iran.” If the training plan is successful, it would bring the SDF to 90,000 fighters.

There are reasons to be skeptical, however, as the US has had several training schemes for groups in Syria in the past, and has tended to produce but tiny fractions of their intended numbers. Even then, those newly-trained fighters have proved to be of limited effectiveness and questionable loyalty.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But, if these fighters do wind up "defeating both Syrian and Iranian operatives, what happens then?!?

Has Sec Def Mattis promised them a permanent "homeland", by telling them that it will let them occupy certain sections of Syria, permanently?!?

And have Presidents Putin; and Al Assad;and Edrogan gotten the memo yet on this move?!?

Russian Warplanes Strike Syrian Rebels After Poison Gas Attacks

In response to a Syrian rebel attack that sickened scores of civilians with exposure to chlorine gas released in shells, Russian warplanes carried out airstrikes against parts of rebel-held northern Syria.

Russian military officials say that the targeted areas were rebel positions belonging to the group behind the poison gas attacks on Aleppo. This included al-Qaeda-linked Horas al-Din and Ansar al-Din Front.

The rebels targeted were meant to have been part of the Turkey-Russia truce deal, but had refused to cooperate with the deal, saying it was a conspiracy to undermine them. The chemical attack seems to have provided Russia with a justification to pound their territory.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOV. 26, 2018: OVER 100 CIVILIANS SUFFERED FROM MILITANT CHEMICAL ATTACK ON ALEPPO CITY

In the late hours of November 24th militants launched several rockets containing chlorine gas at residential areas in the northern part of Aleppo city, according to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). 107 civilians reportedly suffered asphyxiation, including many women and children.

These attacks came a few days after SANA reported that French militants arrived in Idlib to equip shells and rockets of local groups with toxic gas. They entered the country through the border with Turkey.

In its first response to the chemical attack, the SAA shelled several positions of the militants in the western Aleppo countryside and the southeastern Idlib countryside. It is possible that the chemical attack may become the tipping point which, would force the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to kick off a military operation in the area.
