As a totally inexperienced, pre computer person, I always wondered how these oooold women and men looked so non-wrinkly, when I knew darn well that unless make-up was slapped on with a trowel, there would be wrinkles. Yet there they were, skin as smooth as a bay's bottom, even when not in a studio setting. Fake news aided by fake photography and a million and one other deceptions.
