China Is About To Get Angry: US Senate To Vote Show Of Support For Hong Kong Protesters

As noted moments ago, futures ramped to new record highs rising above 3,100 following a quote from top Trump advisor Larry Kudlow, who has figured out that he gets most bang for the buck in juicing futures when liquidity is virtually nil, around 8pm or so, when he told reporters that Phase One of the China deal is "down to the short strokes", adding that "we are in communication with them every single day right now", and repeating that "a deal is close", even if "it’s not done yet."

AFRICA IN THE NEW ERA OF GREAT POWER RIVALRY

To an extent, this is a déjà –vu all over again. As the British and French colonial empires, crippled by the two world wars which not only bankrupted them but also plainly demonstrated “colored” soldiers could fight as well as “white” ones, collapsed, the two superpowers promptly filled the void. While in some cases United States swiftly moved in as the French and the British were departing, leaving behind the elites their trained, those countries which experienced genuine national liberation movements nearly without exception opted for an alliance with USSR.

Greece Is The Centrepiece Of China’s BRI In The Eastern Mediterranean

A 2018 Pew Survey found that 89% of Greeks found their culture to be superior to others, by far the highest amount of people in Europe where it reached as low as 26% in Sweden, 23% in Estonia and Belgium, and 20% in Spain. The Greeks are by far the oldest civilization on the European continent, giving them the moniker as the founders of Western civilization, and a slight arrogance at times over other Europeans.

However, it was this very ancient civilizational pride that Chinese President Xi Jinping capitalized on during his extremely productive visit to Greece this week where 16 agreements were made that firmly puts the Mediterranean country into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

But many institutions keep their scans out of public view.

NATO confronted by China's efforts to undermine its security — Pompeo

"So it’s a complex challenge with China, a challenge that has similarities to what — to challenges America has faced before from authoritarian regimes, but different in material respects as well. We’ve never had another nation that had five times as many people as we had and an economy that is the scale of what the Chinese had that is interconnected to our economy as ours is with China today," he added.

"It is absolutely the case that we have — the people of China are working to make their lives better, and what we’re confronting today is a challenge from the Chinese Communist Party, which has also changed even in the last handful of years and engaged in activity that is deeply inconsistent with not only what I think is best for the world or what America thinks is the best for the world, but inconsistent with what they have promised," he noted.

Sadr to US: Interfere in early elections and you’ll be kicked out of Iraq

Influential Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Monday warned “occupying America” against intervening in Iraqi affairs, including their supervision of the potential early elections to meet some anti-government protester demands. Sadr vowed to end US presence in Iraq if they continued to intervene in the country's affairs.

“Enough of you interfering in our affairs. Iraq already has great [individuals] who can protect it and doesn’t need intervention from you or anyone else,” Sadr, who is head of the 2018 parliamentary election-winning Sayirun Alliance, said on Monday.

“Occupying America has proven again” that it interferes in the affairs of other countries, he added, but it is Iraqis who will settle the fate of “corrupt” officials the US “imposed” on Iraqis after it invaded the country in 2003.

China Slams US-UK "Blatant Interference" In HK As University Standoff Ends Violently

Beijing yet again slammed London and Washington for meddling in its domestic affairs after Western politicians and media have backed besieged university student protesters holed up at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University following the past days of violent clashes with police. The standoff has grabbed world headlines for its escalating violence, including students using bows & arrows, molotov cocktails, bricks and javelins against police, and after one officer was pierced through the leg with an arrow.

The waves of protests breaking out in country after country around the world beg the question: Why aren’t Americans rising up in peaceful protest like our neighbors? We live at the very heart of this neoliberal system that is force-feeding the systemic injustice and inequality of 19th-century laissez-faire capitalism to the people of the 21st century. So we are subject to many of the same abuses that have fueled mass protest movements in other countries, including high rents, stagnant wages, cradle-to-grave debt, ever-rising economic inequality, privatized health care, a shredded social safety net, abysmal public transportation, systemic political corruption and endless war.

Israeli army launches fresh air raids on Gaza, targets Hamas

Israel has said it carried out fresh air raids on the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from the besieged enclave, two days after a precarious ceasefire went into force following a round of fighting that killed dozens of Palestinians.

The Israeli army said its attacks early on Saturday did not target positions of the Islamic Jihad group but sites belonging to Hamas, which administers the Gaza Strip. There was no immediate comment by Hamas.

Palestinian UN envoy blasts Israel's killing of civilians

Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour on Friday criticized Israel's killing of civilians and called on the international community to condemn this aggression.

"Today is our national day... we bury our martyrs, the civilians killed by the Israeli occupying forces during this current aggression, which we condemn," the ambassador told reporters at the UN headquarters in New York.

"We demand from the international community, especially the Security Council, to condemn this aggression and to stop it, to shoulder its responsibility in connection with international peace and security," the envoy added.

Mansour said he was grateful to countries and parties that called for an "independent, transparent" investigation on this crime and to hold "in an accountable way" the criminals who have committed this crime and to bring them to justice from the Israeli side.

Protesters being killed by 'third party', not Iraq’s security forces: defense minister

Iraq’s defense minister has accused an unspecified “third party” of killing protesters to ignite violence with the security forces in the streets and cause national “instability”, as protests in the country’s south and center continue.

Najah al-Shimmari made the claim during an interview with France 24 in Paris on Saturday.

“The Iraqi national security forces are not who is killing the protesters,” Shimmari said. “There is a third party killing the protesters, to push protesters to clash with security forces to spread instability in Iraq.” He offered no elaboration on who said “third party” may be.

The Supreme Court Looks Ready To Uphold Trump’s Bid To End DACA

A closely-divided Supreme Court seemed inclined to uphold President Donald Trump’s bid to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program during arguments Tuesday morning.

The high court’s conservative majority appeared to think the administration has provided an adequate basis for ending the policy, and in spaces even wondered if the courts had power to review the dispute.

DACA does not confer lawful status on recipients, nor is it a defense against deportation. Instead, if delays removal for a renewable two year period and allows beneficiaries to apply for work permits. Former President Barack Obama established the program in 2012. To qualify, recipients must have entered the country unlawfully before age 16, show five years of continuous residence in the U.S., graduate high school, serve in the Armed Forces, or enroll in school.

How Western media bias allows Israel to get away with murder in Gaza

An Israeli attack on Gaza was imminent, and not because of any provocations by Palestinian groups in the besieged, impoverished Gaza Strip. The Israeli military escalation was foreseeable because it factors neatly in Israel’s contentious political scene. The war was not a question of “if”, but “when”.

The answer came on November 12, when the Israeli military launched a major strike against Gaza, killing an Islamic Jihad Commander, Bahaa Abu al-Ata, along with his wife Asma.

More strikes followed, targeting what the Israeli military described as Islamic Jihad installations. However, the identities of the victims, along with damning social media footage, pictures, and eyewitness accounts indicate that civilians and civilian infrastructure were bombed and destroyed as well.

'Gaza Fights for Freedom': An antidote to Israel’s criminal propaganda

On 1 June 2018, 21-year-old Palestinian paramedic Razan al-Najjar was shot and killed by Israeli forces while tending to casualties during the Great March of Return - the unarmed protests that had begun two months earlier along the Gaza Strip’s border with Israel and that continue to this day.

In predictable fashion, Israeli officials have cast the protesters - from children to elderly women to disabled persons - as diabolical minions sent by Hamas to lay waste to Israel via “kite and balloon terrorism” and other Scary Stuff.

As with every other manifestation of the Palestinian demand for dignity, Israel has used the Great March of Return as an opportunity to engage in mass slaughter: on a single day in May 2018, some 59 protesters were killed, including children.

Nov 18 12:15

Why did Israel bomb Gaza? Because it can

There is much speculation about the timing of Israel’s assassination of an Islamic Jihad leader, Baha Abu al-Ata and his wife, Asma.

Why rock the boat now? The killing came in the middle of Israeli coalition negotiations, that – if they fail – could lead to an unprecedented third election in a year.

It came during a period of Egyptian-mediated calm between Israel and Hamas that had raised hopes that not only would Israel’s draconian siege on Gaza be eased a little, it could secure a longer-term cessation of hostilities, as well as pave the way for Palestinian elections, long overdue.

And finally, and with a more or less simultaneous attack on an Islamic Jihad leader in Damascus (which missed its apparent target, Akram al-Ajouri, but killed a son, Muath, and a granddaughter, Batoul) it came at a time when there are plenty of other hotspots in a region that seems perpetually poised on some disastrous precipice.

Why escalate at this time?

About Trump

The timing is right for everyone to understand what Donald Trump is doing, and try to decrypt the ambiguity of how he is is doing it. The controversial President has a much clearer agenda than anyone can imagine on both foreign policy and internal affairs, but since he has to stay in power or even stay alive to achieve his objectives, his strategy is so refined and subtle that next to no one can see it. His overall objective is so ambitious that he has to follow random elliptic courses to get from point A to point B, using patterns that throw people off on their comprehension of the man.

Saturn’s moon Titan is largely covered in organic material, new evidence shows

Titan’s geology is dependent on latitude. At the equator, young dune fields dominate while lakes can be found at the poles.

But the most prominent feature of Titan is intriguing to scientists: organic plains.

The moon’s methane cycle is the driver of its geology — at the poles, humidity helps methane remain in its liquid state. Around the equator, a more arid climate allows dunes sculpted by wind to remain intact.

We have the first full map of the weird surface features of Titan

Slowly but surely, the surface of Saturn’s strange moon Titan is being revealed. Researchers have made the first map of the geology of Titan’s entire surface, and it will eventually help us figure out what the climate is like there.

Titan’s atmosphere is full of a thick, orange haze that blocks visible light from reaching the surface, making it difficult for spacecraft to take pictures. NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, which orbited Saturn from 2004 to 2017, took radar and infrared data of Titan’s surface, giving researchers a hint of the terrain below.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 18, 2019: FURTHER ESCALATION IN SOUTHERN IDLIB

Over the past days, southern Idlib, southern Raqqah, northwestern al-Hasakah remained the main points of tensions in Syria.

On November 16, the Syrian Army repelled an attack by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its allies on the hill of Khaznah in southeastern Idlib. According to pro-government sources, at least 7 militants were killed in the clashes.

The Syrian Army, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, liberated the Khaznah hill and the village of Luwaybidah on November 14 in an attempt to expand a buffer zone between militants’ positions and nearby civilian areas. Despite this, attacks in the area continued. If government forces want to remove the threat of shelling by militants to nearby villages, they will have to push deeper into southern Idlib.

US CALLS ON HAFTAR TO END TRIPOLI PUSH, WARNS AGAINST RUSSIA ROLE

The United States has called on Libyan renegade General Khalifa Haftar to stop a months-long offensive on Tripoli and said it would back the country’s internationally recognised government against "Russia’s attempts to exploit the conflict".

The statement was the most explicit call by Washington against the self-styled Libyan National Army of Haftar, who was earlier praised by President Donald Trump.

"The United States calls on the 'Libyan National Army’ to end its offensive on Tripoli," the US State Department said in a joint statement released on Thursday after talks with a delegation from Libya’s Tripoli-based Government of National Accord in Washington.

Libya has been split between rival camps based in Tripoli and the east since 2014, a result of the divisions that surfaced following the NATO-backed overthrow of long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi three years earlier.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More Russia bashing in Libya, courtesy of the New York Times; and notice, the last paragraph, in which it is stated, that "...the Russian mercenaries were believed to be controlled by an ally of President Vladimir Putin, an allegation denied by Moscow.

PROOF BE DAMNED!! We only want a SUGGESTION that Russia is supporting Haftar, and off the US government is ready to..... go and do what, precisely?!?

Are we going to offer more troops to NATO, with which to fight Haftar's troops, and the so-called Russian mercs, allegedly under Moscow's control?!?

A Decap Strike on Moscow?!?

This is the kind of foreign policy decision one can always expect from the US government, when International Policy becomes driven by dartboard, rather than driven by the best logic and intel possible; and the folks fabricating this policy toward Libya and Haftar, are not even looking at the same bloody dartboard, complicating things even further!!!

Vaccine ingredient warning: Ethyl mercury in vaccines 50 times more toxic than methyl mercury in fish

Science proves that ethyl mercury is actually far MORE toxic than methyl mercury. Most nurses and doctors parrot the myth the other way around, falsely claiming that ethyl mercury is “less persistent in the body” so therefore it’s less toxic, except they have no science to back that up, whatsoever. They want you to assume a lie before they tell you another lie.

As much as they all worship at the “peer-reviewed” altar, they can’t cite one single scientific study that’s been published to support their argument. Guess what? That’s because the science swings completely in the other direction, proving ethyl mercury to be 50 times more toxic and TWICE as persistent in the human brain. Oops.

Govt. run amok: Wisconsin family facing jail for living in RV on their own property after fire devastated their home

As reported by The Free Thought Society, the Navari family of Madison suffered the unfortunate loss of their home and nearly all of their possessions due to a fire. At that point, the family believed that things could not get worse for them, but they have since been proven wrong.

“Now, as the family battles the insurance company to pay for the damage, they are also battling a government who says it’s illegal for them to live in an RV in their own driveway while they conduct repairs,” the group reports.

A rational person would think that the family, being on their own property for which taxes are current, would be safe to live for a time following a disaster in a vehicle specifically designed to be a mobile home.

But no.

Washington threatens Egypt with Sanctions over Russian Su-35 fighter jet purchase

Washington’s latest attempt to dissuade an ally from making arms deals with Russia came in the form of a letter sent on last Wednesday to Egyptian officials warning them that they could face sanctions if they continued with their $2 billion dollar Su-35 fighter jets contract.

In addition to sanctions, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper warned Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Ahmed Zaki in Wednesday’s letter that “Major new arms deals with Russia would — at a minimum — complicate future U.S. defense transactions with and security assistance to Egypt.” The United States sends Egypt $1.3 billion annually in military assistance.

Russia has become one of Egypt’s major arms suppliers. This particular arms between Egypt and Russia for ten fighter jets was signed at the end of 2018, with delivery of the Su-35 Flanker-E air superiority fighter aircraft as well as weapons for the planes starting in 2020-2021.

Mother sues transgender clinic for lying about “safety” of hormone blockers for kids

A mother from Great Britain is suing the Tavistock Clinic in Leeds for administering to very young children “experimental” transgender pharmaceuticals that a recent study determined to be “devastating” and “irreversible.”

A prominent state-funded “gender” clinic in the U.K., Tavistock is centered around “transitioning” underage children into “other” genders using puberty blockers, which Tavistock has long claimed is a reversible process. But as it turns out, these procedures are not reversible, and end up ruining kids’ lives.

The lawsuit alleges that Tavistock is pushing these treatments on children using “inaccurate and potentially misleading” information. “Mrs. A,” as the mother is calling herself in anonymity, has a 15-year-old child of her own at Tavistock who’s being victimized by these very procedures, which she wants to see stopped.
