Central banks worldwide buying up massive amounts of gold in a shift away from US dollar – Goldman Sachs

RT
December 10, 2019

Gold prices will climb to $1,600 per ounce over the next year, Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs projects. It says that central banks are consuming a fifth of the global supply of the yellow metal.

“De-dollarization in central banks – demand from central banks for gold is biggest since the Nixon era, eating up 20 percent of global supply,” the head of global commodities research at Goldman, Jeff Currie, told Bloomberg. “I am going to like gold better than bonds because the bonds won’t reflect that de-dollarization.”

Citing “fear-driven demand” for the precious metal, Goldman analysts said last week that investors should diversify their long-term bond holdings with gold.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, we may want to take a good hard look at this development; we have a lot of economic manure, hitting the ventilation system in the next couple of weeks, internationally, so please; if you can, do think about this as a way of protecting, please look at the possibility, even if you had not considered it before.

Russian fighter jets have intercepted Israeli warplanes that were flying over southern Syria, media reports say.

According to Russian publication Avia.Pro, Russia’s warplanes intercepted the Israeli warplanes that had been seeking to attack the T-4 Airbase in Syria's western province of Homs last week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have wondered just how long Putin will put up with this nonsense, before he does something substantial; at the moment, he seems to be content with deflecting Israeli bombs, which were intended for targeting Syria.

But I cannot believe that he will not take a harder stance, at some point in the near future, against Israeli government impudence in this area.

Yemen/Saudi-led war on Yemen killed over 3,600 Yemeni children, paralyzed 800

After 1,700 days of a Saudi-led war on impoverished Yemen, more than 3,600 children have been killed, 800 paralyzed and 400,000 others hit with malnutrition.

According to a report released on Sunday by the Yemeni-based Organization for Women and Children’s Rights, 7,500 children have fallen victim to the ongoing Saudi-led war, since its start in March 2015.

Of these ill-fated children, 3,672 were killed and 800 others were paralyzed, it said, adding that the rest were either maimed or received other kinds of life altering injuries.

The war of aggression also hit 400,000 other Yemeni children with malnutrition, Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah television network further cited the report as saying.

Separately on Sunday, Yemen’s health ministry also confirmed that 800 children are suffering from permanent disabilities due to wounds they received in Saudi-led airstrikes during the past five years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US military has been aiding and abetting these Saudi war crimes in Yemen, and yet there does not seem to be any remorse, any consideration of the horrific genocide done to these children, on the part of US civilian or military officials.

To understand that the government of the country of which you are a citizen, is routinely involved in war crimes around the world, is adding insult to injury. Mr. President, please; pull US forces out of both Saudi Arabia and Yemen now!!

You never should have allowed one of your BFFs in the Middle East, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to talk you into any further commitment by the US military, to further engage in what can only, ultimately, be solved diplomatically.

Google blocks access to YouTube accounts of Iran’s Press TV, Hispan TV

Google has targeted Iranian broadcasters Press TV and Hispan TV once again, blocking access to their official YouTube accounts without any prior notice.

Over the past years, the US tech giant has recurrently been opting for such measures against Iranian media outlets. It has taken on Press TV more than any other Iranian outlet given the expanse of its viewership and readership.

The most recent move came on Tuesday. Users shortly flooded both the networks with messages asking why the international networks' YouTube channels had been put out of service.

The two networks were last targeted in April, when Google similarly shut their YouTube and Gmail accounts.

The previous attack also denied the networks any advance notification, sufficing to cite a nebulous “violation of policies.”

Who Told Giuliani the WTC was Going to Collapse on 9/11?

“I went down to the scene and we set up headquarters at 75 Barkley Street, which was right there with the Police Commissioner, the Fire Commissioner, the Head of Emergency Management, and we were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse. Security Alerts, Disabled Fire Alarms, and Unused Elevators: Suspicious Events at the World Trade Center Before 9/11

At least three notable anomalous events occurred at the World Trade Center in the weeks and months leading up to September 11, 2001, which may have related to the imminent terrorist attacks but could not have been caused by al-Qaeda, the group supposedly responsible for 9/11.

There was an increase in security at the Trade Center in the two weeks before 9/11, for reasons that are unclear, which only ended the day before the attacks. Also, the fire alarm system in World Trade Center Building 7 was placed on "test condition" every morning in the seven days before the attacks and on the day of 9/11. While it was in this mode, any alarms would be ignored. WTC 7 was a massive skyscraper located just north of the Twin Towers, which mysteriously collapsed late in the afternoon of September 11. And some of the elevators in the Twin Towers were out of service in the months before the attacks, supposedly due to maintenance work or modernization.

Sometimes ... a building is surrounded by structures that must be preserved. In this case, the blasters proceed with a true implosion, demolishing the building so that it collapses straight down into its own footprint (the total area at the base of the building). After Rockets Hit Baghdad Airport Base, US Says Iran Targeting Americans

On Monday four rockets of unknown origin struck an Iraqi military base near the Baghdad International Airport, also site to many US and coalition forces. This follows at least nine "increasingly sophisticated" rocket attacks on joint US-Iraq military facilities over just the past five weeks.

The Pentagon believes Iran is behind these and other attacks, CNN reports, according to several US defense official sources, who say further Iran's Shia proxies are involved in planning "new provocations against US troops and interests in the region."

Monday's major assault near the sprawling Baghdad airport appeared to target a main training center where US troops advise members of the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service. No Americans were reported hurt; however, six Iraq security force members were injured according to official statements, with two in critical condition.

Former radioactive site collapses into Detroit River, raising drinking water safety concerns

A site on the Detroit River that was used to produce radioactive materials during World War II collapsed last week, raising concerns about whether the adjacent water supply is safe to drink.

While officials in the United States say the water is free of radioactivity, the city of Windsor on the Canadian side is raising concerns.

Canadian member of Parliament Brian Masse released a statement Thursday from his office, which alleged that, "on November 27, 2019, the Revere Copper Site on the American side of the Detroit River collapsed most likely due to the weight of the aggregate stored by Detroit Bulk Storage on site."

Masse later provided a letter to Canada's House of Commons further expressing his concerns and calling for both the US and Canadian governments to work together to assess any possible threat.

Democrats play havoc with history, cite King Louis XVI in effort to impeach Trump

Imagine my confusion when I sat down with a hard copy of the ‘Constitutional Grounds for Presidential Impeachment’ - the Democrats' legal case for impeachment against Trump - and randomly flipped open to page 32, which began with not only a blast from the past, but from an altogether different country: “Many officials were impeached for non-criminal wrongs against the British system of government,” the line began, before naming “the Duke of Buckingham (1626), the Earl of Strafford (1640), the Lord Mayor of London (1642), the Earl of Orford and… Governor General Warren Hastings (1787).”

In case the reader missed the true essence of that quote, allow me to repeat it: “Many officials were impeached for non-criminal wrongs…” In other words, it appears that the Democrats are attempting to build an impeachment case against Donald Trump on the premise that it’s perfectly legitimate to oust a sitting President who has committed no real crime.

On December 9, Russian forces entered the city of Raqqa for the first time since the start of their anti-terrorism operation in 2015. A unit of the Russian Military Police set up a temporary humanitarian point and provided locals with aid. According to the Russian side, such humanitarian actions will be a regular practice.

A series of firefights erupted between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces and Turkish-led forces to the southeast of Ras al-Ayn. Nonetheless, no side carried out offensive actions. Local sources links the recent clashes with individual initiative of some field commanders.

Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units have deployed large reinforcements near the Syrian-Iraqi border, west of Mosul.

Despite the European Union attempts to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which saw Iran reduce its low-enriched uranium by 98% and eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium in return for economic relief, JCPOA is hanging by a thread because of Washington’s withdrawal from the deal in October 2017.

The European Statistical Office revealed that from January to September trade between the EU and Iran was at €3.86 billion, a massive 74.92% drop compared to the same period in 2018. The report revealed that Germany (€1.23 billion), Italy (€734.78 million) and the Netherlands (€376.73 million) were Iran’s top three trading partners in EU while trade with Greece (€32.08 million), Luxembourg (€506,316), Spain (€207.36 million), France (€296.5 million) and Austria (€102.11 million) had plunged by 97.13%, 91.38%, 91.17%, 86.79% and 82.38% respectively.

Former CIA director Brennan lied to Congress about Steele Dossier, IG report reveals

A dossier of salacious anti-Trump gossip was used to pad out the intelligence community report on supposed Russian election interference, and CIA Director John Brennan may have misled Congress about it, a new report reveals.

According to the Justice Department Inspector General’s report into the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign, the information contained in the now-infamous ‘Steele Dossier’ was used to inform the Obama administration’s Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on Russia’s “Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections,” published several weeks before President Donald Trump assumed office.

A summary of the dossier was included in the assessment, former FBI director James Comey told the Inspector General’s office, because Brennan and a cohort of intelligence personnel felt it “important enough and consistent enough” to warrant entry.

Schiff Confirms Impeachment of Trump is All About 2020

“The argument ‘Why don’t you just wait?’ amounts to this. Why don’t you just let him cheat in one more election? Why not let him cheat just one more time? Why not let him have foreign help just one more time? That is what that argument amounts to. The President’s misconduct goes to the heart of whether we can conduct a free and fair election in 2020. It is bad enough for a candidate to invite foreign interference in our political process, but it is far more corrosive for a president to do so and to abuse his power to make it so. Despite everything we have uncovered, the President’s misconduct continues to this day, unapologetically and right now. As we saw, when he stood on the White House lawn and he was asked, ‘What did you want in that July 25th call?’ and he said the answer was ‘a simple one.’ And not just a simple one on July 25th, but a simple one today, and that is he still wants Ukraine to interfere in our election to help his campaign.

BBC crisis: Broadcaster ‘on brink’ among young viewers - shock leak

The latest BBC viewing figures reveal young people are turning away from the broadcaster, as 16-34 year-olds are turn away from watching its three main channels: BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4. The reach of these channels among young viewers has fallen from 51.9 percent to 46.6 percent in a year, according to the document obtained by the trade magazine Broadcast. The report warned the BBC was “dangerously close to the brink” if it fails to halt the decline.

The leaked document has shown that despite BBC iPlayer seeing a rise in younger audiences, the growth is not enough to offset the sharper decline in broadcast TV.

This is not something unique to the BBC, with other broadcasters, such as ITV and Channel 4, suffering from a long-term decline in conventional viewing as audiences switch to streaming channels Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

Putin, Zelensky, in first sitdown, agree to exchange all prisoners, revive peace process

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed Monday to revive peace talks in order to de-escalate tensions between the two nations amid the five-year separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine that has reshaped geopolitics in the region.

Both leaders agreed to exchange all prisoners and implement a cease-fire by the end of the year in the first face-to-face meeting between the pair since Zelensky, a comedian-turned-politician, was elected in April, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“We unblocked dialogue with Russia, a positive step... Unfortunately, we couldn’t settle all issues today,” Zelensky said at a joint news conference in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who mediated the talks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My fingers are crossed here; hoping that this dialogue can extend in a way that is both peaceful and substantive.

Unfortunately, there are too many people, with too much invested in a Ukraine/Russia war scenario, for this to be achieved without a lot of intelligent, rational problem solving, and more than a bit of arm twisting, to get peace.

It is a blessing that both Zelensky and Putin want to opt for peace here

Worse still, StrandHogg will still direct users to the legitimate app once they’ve inputted their details. So, from your perceptive, all you’ve done is log into your banking app – unaware that hackers have just been handed over all the details they need to do the same.

The Appendix identifies a total of 51 Woods procedure violations from the FISA application the FBI submitted to the court authorizing surveillance of former Trump campaign aide Carter Page starting in October 2016.

A whopping nine of those violations fell into the category called: “Supporting document shows that the factual assertion is

CALIFORNIA WOMAN SUES TSA FOR DETAINING HER, FORCING HER TO SUBMIT TO “GROIN SEARCH”

The blue-shirted TSA employees of which all travelers are familiar hold the job title, “Transportation Security Officer.” But despite the “officer” title emblazoned upon the plastic badge on their chest, TSA screeners are not law enforcement officers, do not have the authority to make arrests or hold travelers for any length of time, and if you break the law at a checkpoint, their only option is to call the real police to deal with the situation.

Unfortunately, that plastic badge appears to occasionally cause TSA screeners to “forget” the boundaries of their authority.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These screenings have utterly nothing to do with security, and everything to do with getting people to cower in front of anyone wearing a badge, which identifies them as a would-be Federal Agent.

US CITY TO PAY REPARATIONS TO AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY WITH TAX ON MARIJUANA SALES

SOURCE: TELEGRAPH.CO.UK
A city in Illinois has announced it will create a reparations fund for its African American community through a new tax on marijuana sales.

Recreational use of the drug will become legal in the state from January and officials in Evanston, which is 12 miles north of Chicago, have voted to approve a 3 per cent tax on the sales to fund a local reparations programme.

The tax is expected to generate between $500,000 and $750,000 annually for the reparations fund, which will be capped at $10 million over the next ten years.

The city's lawmakers will meet next week to determine exactly how the fund will be distributed, but one idea being proposed is for the money to go towards things like skills training or financial assistance for down payments on a home in the area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will be a bell-weather program, and if it appears to succeed, will see other states adopt other ways of doing this.

But I have to ask; what about people whose families were indentured servants, trading labor for their freedom?!? What about Chinese immigrants who were literally gang-pressed into service for building our nation's critical rail infrastructure?!? There is a lot of victimhood to be found folks, if one wants to really look for it.

I am thinking out loud here, but what if the funding actually went to raising the standards, and educational excellence of schools which are primarily minority attended?!? There are some incredible lessons to be learned from the Kumon Schools, (www.kumon.com); the Waldorf Schools; www.waldorfeducation.org) and the Montessori Schools; Schoolshttps://amshq.org/Educators/Montessori-Careers?)

And BTW, have you ever heard of a school shooter attempting to attack one of the children from the above private schools?!? The short answer is, never.

And these are the kinds of schools kids want to come back to in the morning, because they have have had fun, and learned, simultaneously.

But it cannot just be the kid involved here; it has to be the parents (or parent), or closest family member involved with these children, as well; when families fail, children fail. when families succeed, so do their children.
So whatever it takes to get the families involved in their kids' education, even if they are just starting in preschool, has to be factored in as well.

Federal Lawyer Durham Objects To DOJ IG Report Clearing FBI's Russia Investigation Of Bias

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz released a report Monday concluding that the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s look into Russian interference in the 2016 election was fundamentally unbiased. However, U.S. Attorney John Durham was quick to say that he did not “agree” with these findings, begging the question: What did the federal lawyer find that Horowitz did not?

Durham was picked by U.S. Attorney General William Barr to conduct an investigation independent of the IG probe. Both focused on whether the FBI's actions to surveil Donald Trump and members of his 2016 campaign for their connections to Russia was tainted by bias or involved unlawful surveillance of Trump and his team. Last week, it was reported that insider sources aware of Durham’s investigation expected the federal lawyer to agree with Horowitz’ conclusions.
