Obama details plan to aid small businesses

President Barack Obama on Monday offered a fresh package of aid to small businesses - "the heart of the American economy" - in an aggressive push to get big banks that got federal bailout money to do more lending to these struggling entrepreneurs.

===

Unfortunately, any plan that is not going to help average consumers out, from under the massive debt load the government has piled on them, is doomed to fail. Businesses are failing because nobody has money to spend. Lending businesses money won't BUY them customers. It will only put them further behind the 8-ball.

Jewish Canadians Concerned About Suppression of Criticism of Israel Censored by Canadian Media.

Jewish Canadians Concerned About Suppression of Criticism of Israel

James Deutsch, M.D., Ph.D., Judith Deutsch, M.S.W., R.S.W., Miriam Garfinkle, M.D.

Over 150 Jewish Canadians signed a statement expressing their concerns about the campaign to suppress criticism of Israel that is being carried on within Canada. The signatories include many prominent Canadians, including Ursula Franklin O.C., Anton Kuerti O.C., Naomi Klein, Dr. Gabor Mate, and professors Meyer Brownstone (recipient of Pearson Peace Medal), Natalie Zemon Davis, Michael Neumann, and Judy Rebick. *

The signatories are particularly concerned that unfounded accusations of anti-Semitism deflect attention from Israel’s accountability for what many have called war crimes in Gaza. They state that B’nai Brith and the Canadian Jewish Congress have led campaigns to silence criticism of Israel on university campuses, in labor unions and in other groups. Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff unquestioningly echo the views of these particular Jewish organizations.

Patriot or crackpot? Seattle man's mission to prosecute Bush

Ask Bob Alexander how often he's heard the word "quixotic" recently. The approximate answer: all the time.

Of all the people who read Charles Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi's best-selling "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder," this 57-year-old Seattle coffee merchant is the only one jolted to act on it in a substantial way. The SuperBeans proprietor has become a super-activist.

With the help of a handful of volunteers and donations, Alexander has sent 2,200 copies of Bugliosi's hardcover to prosecutors around the country.

Now he and his volunteers are following up with each one of them by phone and e-mail, as well as gathering signatures for petitions urging the prosecutors to indict the former president.

As a reward for killing 1,400 Palestinians in the Gaza blitzkrieg, ignoring U.S. demands to stop the building of "settlements" on the West Bank, and vigorous efforts to breach our security and steal highly classified information via its Washington fifth column, Tel Aviv has been reassured by President Barack Obama that $30 billion in aid will not be cut. World financial crisis? Impending US bankruptcy? Obama's newfound sense of fiscal responsibility? Put it out of your mind. All it takes is one phone call from Chuck Schumer, a tête-à-tête with Nancy Pelosi, and an editorial or two in the Washington Post, and – poof! – "change" turns into continuity. Obama will keep Bush's promise, and you can take that to the bank.

Bernard Madoff's winning clients try to block victims

Investors are stashing profits that they made from Bernard Madoff’s $65 billion (£47 billion) Ponzi scheme as the trustee of the phoney funds gears up to claw back cash to compensate hard-up victims.

Lawyers report being besieged by investors seeking advice on how to protect their money from the clawback by Irving Picard, the trustee of the Madoff business. One lawyer in Manhattan, who declined to be named, said: “People are thinking about how to protect their returns. It’s something we’re getting a lot of questions about, as are other firms.”

FLASHBACK - Who is Bernard Madoff, the man behind the $50 billion fraud?

Bernard Madoff's plea of guilt on 11 charges is merely a ruse to protect his Zionist co-conspirators, especially those Zionists in high positions at two private Israeli banks apparently involved in the fraud.

Bernard Madoff's guilty plea of March 12 was clearly meant to do two things essential to protect the billions of dollars of assets stolen in this huge crime: prevent him from having to cooperate with investigators and thus keep hidden the secrets of where the stolen money is – and how it got there.

AIG's Not Very Transparent List of Counterparties

It's good that AIG has released a list of its counterparties. But if it really believes in "the importance of upholding a high degree of transparency with respect to the use of public funds", this is a very odd way of releasing the information.

If you're not already familiar with the intricacies of AIG's operations, it's very easy to just start adding up the numbers in the various appendices, coming up with a kind of bailout league table: Goldman got $12.9 billion! Barclays got $8.5 billion! But in fact it's much more complicated than that.

Banks scramble to return bailout funds

A growing number of healthy bank chains across the country are bailing out of the $700-billion federal banking bailout program, saying it has tarnished the reputation of banks that took the money and tangled them in unwieldy regulations.

Electronics-frying "e-bombs" have been discussed for decades — but rarely, if ever, deployed. Knocking out computers and communications gear with electromagnetic radiation is nice, but commanders prefer the proven method: blowing stuff up.

Apple Adds Still More DRM to iPod Shuffle

Even as it attacks DRM on music, Apple is continuing to add more DRM to its own hardware (we recently documented all of Apple's various hardware DRM restrictions). The latest example is the new iPod Shuffle. According to the careful reviewers at iLounge, third-party headphone makers will have to use yet-another Apple "authentication chip" if they want to interoperate with the new Shuffle.

Normally, of course, independent headphone makers could simply reverse engineer the interface. The "authentication chip" is there so that Apple's lawyers can invoke the DMCA to block those efforts. So this shows us, yet again, what DRM is for -- not stopping piracy, but rather impeding competition and innovation.

Whenever I hear about a rampage massacre like the one that just took place in southern Alabama a few hours ago, so far leaving 11 dead and untold wounded (casualty numbers seem to tick up every hour), the first thing I look for is how the company treated the shooter or the workforce as a whole: did they recently fire him in the usual callous manner that companies do it these days, leaving him desperate and devastated? Has the company been following the typical post-Reagan management model in which workers are squeezed with endless downsizings, slashed benefits, and more time at the job for less pay, all in order to fatten the filthy-rich executives’ already-obscene bonuses?

The answer in the case of today’s Alabama shootings already appears to be yes.

How to Spot Atheists and Report Them to the FBI

In any case, it's important for you to report any anti-Christian behavior (whether it comes from Catholics or full-blown Atheists) to your local police department as soon as possible. Since the President of the United States doesn't even consider Atheists as citizens, and even acknowledges that they are a threat to our country, it should be no problem getting these so called "people" deported to France (The Home of Atheism). Please use the list below as a guide to spot an Atheist in your community.

Jews ask pope for Holocaust studies in schools

If the Pope thought that caving on on Bishop Williamson would quiet things down, he was sorely mistaken.

As travel declines, aircraft 'boneyard' in Victorville fills up

With the economy in a tailspin, aircraft "boneyards" across the country are filling up with Boeing 747s and other jetliners no longer needed to ferry passengers. Call it airline limbo.

Air carriers are grounding planes at a rate not seen since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and industry experts say this year is likely to set a record for planes sitting on the ground.

AT LAST! THE IDEA THAT TALKING TO PEOPLE MIGHT BE A BETTER IDEA THAN KILLING THEM IS BEGINNING TO SINK IN.

Though it might be hard to believe in the light of the recent warcrimes committed by Israel in the Gaza and the continued violence in both Afghanistan and Iraq what with the neocons calling for a massive increase in violence in Afghanistan, there is a definite tend away from thinking war all of the time and some consideration is now actually being given to talking.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Global Cooling Continues

Continuing a decade-long trend of declining global temperatures, the year 2008 was significantly colder than 2007, and global temperatures for the year were below the average over the past 30 years.

The global temperature data, reported by NASA satellite-based temperature measurements, refuted predictions 2008 would be one of the warmest on record.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here in Hawaii the average low temperature for March is 67. So far the low temperatures have been 55 to 58.

The Global Warming Scam

NASA's press office "marginalized or mischaracterized" studies on global warming between 2004 and 2006, the agency's own internal watchdog concluded. In a report released Monday [4/4/2008], NASA's inspector general office called it "inappropriate political interference" by political appointees in the press office. [PhysOrg]

A simple method of manipulating surface temperature data which does not involve rocket science is to
place temperature monitors in areas prone to heating or next to heat outlets.

GM mosquito bred to destroy malaria

Scientists in America have engineered a species of mosquito which is resistant to the malaria infection. Its ability to block the infection suggests that it could come to dominate mosquito populations if released into the wild.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ummmmm, doesn't that mean that the mosquito population will INCREASE? And that means we will be bitten more often?

Which means people will use MORE pesticides (because these cheap bug zappers the hardware stores carry now don't work), good for the profits of the pesticide companies but not to good for the environment.

And given some of the evidence that GM creations have unexpected side effects not tested for in the labs. I think it is very reckless to release a frankenbug into the wild that by design is injecting its saliva into humans.

Man arrested after 'stabbing to death teenage boy who was trying to burgle his house'

A man stabbed to death a teenage boy who was trying to burgle his house, sources said today.

The man, who is in his early twenties, was arrested after he attacked the 17-year-old boy, who was said to have been breaking in to the house with two other youths.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the man was arrested by the police to save them the embarrassment of once more being shown to be totally ineffective.

I mean, this proves yet again that the police never arrive in time to PREVENT a crime. They only arrive afterwards and stand around in their spiffy uniforms looking stern and promising justice revenge.

More crimes are prevented by private citizens then by the police, so the police, in order not to have to stand around looking totally useless, arrest the guy who was the VICTIM of the original crime.

Now Coca-Cola feels force of Chavez' colourful revolution

It happens to be Coca-Cola's colour, but the red banners draped outside a distribution plant in west Caracas offer the company no comfort. That red belongs to President Hugo Chávez and Venezuela's socialist revolution.

Nor can the company feel sheltered by the high walls surrounding the site. Every inch has been painted with murals depicting historic scenes of indigenous tribes and patriots expelling foreign interlopers with axes and swords.

DOLLAR CRISIS IN THE MAKING

Increasingly ominous clouds are gathering in what could soon be the perfect storm against the United States dollar and against the present dollar-centric global financial order.

This is not shaping up to be a storm that anyone is trying to initiate, not even those who are actively driving for a new global financial order that is no longer centered on the dollar. Instead, it will result from a correlation of forces arising out of the deepening global financial and economic crises, coupled with recurring and conspicuous miscalculation on the part of some of the world's political, financial and economic leaders.

Labour 'double standards' as smoking ban is lifted for G20 world leaders

Labour has been accused of double standards for amending legislation to allow world leaders to use smoking rooms during the G20 economic conference.

Dozens of heads of state, politicians and diplomats will be meeting at the Excel Exhibition Centre in Docklands, London, next month.

It is believed that laws have been changed to get around the smoking ban and provide specialist rooms that the visiting dignitaries can use.

Smoking in all enclosed public spaces and places of work was banned under the Health Act 2006, and came into force in England in 2007.

It is not clear which Government department has amended the law for the venue or whether is only a temporary measure.

Riding out the tsunami in paradise

I think the best action for the United States and the rest of the world would be a massive act of peaceful civil disobedience. Stop paying mortgages. Stop paying credit card bills and student loans. It's over. The money you spend now will be money that you wish you had saved (or converted into land, gold, or something of value) Stop paying taxes. And don't give back your keys. Take your homes back and stop funding the government. Take care of yourselves. Do what you have to do to survive because this is your right as a human being. You are not responsible for Wall Street. You are not responsible for any of this. It's collapsing. Don't let them control the outcome. Don't give away your power. Don't give away what few resources you have left to those who created this.

Living in U.S., rejecting its laws, targeted as terrorists

For the past couple of years, the back room of Sami V’s Signs has been home to the “Sovereign People’s Court for the United States,” the main local gathering place for the sovereign citizens movement. Nationwide, tens of thousands of Americans have declared themselves sovereign citizens, above the government’s jurisdiction and not obligated to pay taxes.

The sovereign citizens movement, which has its roots in the notorious anti-tax group Posse Comitatus of the 1970s, has been rising in popularity the past couple of years, fueled in part by the declining economy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I find it hilarious that the same US Government that lied to us all about Saddam's "nookular" bombs accuses these people of fraud.

And frankly, I do not see any difference between these people and the Founding Fathers just before they kicked out the last government that thought it was okay to tax the people into poverty to pay for foreign wars.
