Bo Burnham’s ‘Inside (The Songs)’ ineligible for comedy Grammy

The accompanying album to Bo Burnham’s Netflix comedy special Inside has been deemed ineligible for the Best Comedy Album award at next year’s Grammys.

The comedian, musician, actor and director surprised fans in May by releasing Inside, his first comedy special in five years. A month later, he shared ‘Inside (The Songs)’, an LP featuring songs from the special.

According to Billboard, the Recording Academy has decided that ‘Inside (The Songs)’ does not meet the criteria to compete in the category for Best Comedy Album at the 64th annual Grammy Awards.

The album hasn’t been shut out completely as it will compete for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media. The soundtrack for Jojo Rabbit won in the same category last year.

Forget cancelling provocateur Chappelle… it’s the black celebrities who disgrace their own race who REALLY deserve our ire

Instead of targeting comedy genius Dave Chappelle, we should be reserving our contempt for those black stars who diss their own people by perpetuating commonly held stereotypes while unapologetically sucking up to the ‘man’.

Dave Chappelle. Don’t you just love him? I mean, hate him? I mean, love to hate him…? Whatever. While debate still rages over whether the self-proclaimed “transphobic comedian” deserves to be persona non grata for making squillions of dollars out of telling jokes that some people may find offensive, Netflix has suspended a lowly trans employee who tweeted that Chappelle’s latest special, ‘The Closer’ was an “attack” that pitted “us [the trans community] against other marginalized groups.” Oh, dear.

Music Festivals Will Now Admit Unvaccinated Attendees Who Show Proof of a Negative COVID Test

By B.N. Frank

Vaccine side effects, injuries, deaths have been reported for decades. They continue to be reported about the COVID jabs as well, hence increasing American opposition to COVID vaccine mandates and lawsuits filed against them.

Some experts have also testified that the U.S. COVID death count is not being accurately reported. Businesses seem to be paying attention to all of this, including concert promoters...

"Foreign Is Dangerous" - China's Censors Are Banning Hollywood Films From Domestic Market

Just like American political leaders and financial giants, Hollywood has also misjudged China's intentions. After Dalian Wanda's takeover of the American production company Legendary Entertainment, some warned that Beijing was trying to subvert American audiences' opinion of China by injecting subtle Chinese propaganda into American films.

But it turns out, Beijing and President Xi had no intentions of embracing Hollywood: instead, it appears they're trying to keep Chinese consumers from absorbing Hollywood's decadent cultural values. Which is why American films have been increasingly blocked from being shown in the Chinese entertainment market in recent years.

Disney Documentary On Fauci Getting Brutal Reviews

The new Disney documentary on Doctor Anthony Fauci is getting some brutal reviews from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

The documentary features Fauci, the Biden administration’s top infectious disease specialist, and chronicles his career and rise as a public figure during the pandemic.

Disney describes the Fauci documentary as “a revealing portrait of one of our most dedicated public servants, whose work saved millions.”

Top critics on Rotten Tomatoes seem to agree with that assessment, but audience reviews have come to a different conclusion, giving an ‘audience score’ of just 2%.

Woke SNL PLUMMETS in ratings—season premiere down 35 percent from last year

This year's Saturday Night Live (SNL) season opener was watched by just 3.5 million viewers on Saturday, dropping 35 percent from the previous year.

The long-standing Nielsen agency released the data, which was drawn from 44 different areas. It should, however, be noted that this data is imputed and preliminary in nature, and that Nielsen will release the full data on Tuesday.

According to the New York Post, the show pulled out all the stops in order to get viewers to tune in. The show was hosted by actor Owen Wilson along with cast member Kenan Thompson. It also featured singer Kacey Musgraves, who, surprisingly, disrobed completely for her musical number, singing with only her cowboy boots and her guitar to hide her otherwise complete nudity.

These results are in line with the ratings of the last two episodes of SNL's 2020-2021 season, despite being a season opener. It also should be noted that the show's ratings were steadily sliding all throughout the previous season.

William Shatner will launch into space with Blue Origin on Oct. 12

Captain Kirk will boldly go where some men have gone before, on a suborbital flight aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard launch system.

Actor William Shatner of "Star Trek" fame and Blue Origin's Audrey Powers, the vice president of missions and flight operations, will fill the last two seats on the company's second crewed flight, due to blast off from New Shepard's west Texas launch site in just over a week, on Oct. 12. Rumors were swirling in late September that the 90-year-old actor would be on the company's second flight, which today's announcement confirms.

"I've heard about space for a long time now," Shatner said in a Blue Origin statement. "I'm taking the opportunity to see it for myself. What a miracle."

Shatner and his crewmates will fly just shy of three months after New Shepard's first crewed flight, which carried the company's founder, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, and three other passengers on a 10-minute flight that reached 66.5 miles (107 kilometers) in altitude.

Hollywood Stageworkers Consider First Strike In History In Threat To "Cripple" Content Studios

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, one of Hollywood's most prominent unions, is eyeing a strike.

In what could be a massive blow to movie and TV studios, many of whom are still trying to deal with fallout from the pandemic, the union's leaders have hit an impasse while seeking shorter working hours as part of a new contract, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The request has been in response to longer hours that have become the norm since Covid shut down a large portion of the industry.

The union has a membership of about 60,000, most of whom are based in Los Angeles. They are threatening to walk off the job, should the union's leadership - which is countrywide - decide. This means that a strike would affect studios across the U.S., not just in Los Angeles.

In total, 1 million jobs "directly tied to film and TV production" could be affected.

Broadway show to be held for “black-identifying” audiences only – and they’ve figured out how to make it legal

Broadway has announced that only whites will be allowed to attend Chicago in a special series of “white only” performances next month. The announcement sparked a great deal of controversy…oh, never mind.

What in fact did happen is that producers of a “critically acclaimed” Broadway show Slave Pay announced they would hold performances for a limited engagement in November for “Black identifying” people only, Breitbart News tells us.

Yes, this is 2021 and it may as well be 1963 since we have apparently rewound the time machine back to when everything was about race. Dr. King must be rolling in his grave.

According to Breitbart, the show was nominated for 12 Tony Awards however garnered none during the clearly racist awards ceremony that took place last week.

Fauci Flop? New Documentary About COVID Czar Fails To Disclose Box Office Results

A new documentary called "Fauci," released by National Geographic Documentary Films two weeks ago, honors Dr. Anthony Fauci's work to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic. Since the release two weeks ago, there's been no data on ticket sales by major film sites, according to Just The News.

The new documentary was released in theaters across York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, D.C., and New Orleans on Sept. 10. No major film site, including RottenTomatoes.com, Boxoffice Pro, IMDB.com, and BoxOfficeMojo.com, has calculated ticket sales or earnings for the film.

The documentary "follows the renowned infectious disease specialist's work in two health crises: AIDS and the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Fauci agreed to participate as long as it didn't interfere with his work," NYT tweeted.

Shawn Robbins, the chief analyst with Boxoffice Pro, said it's "incredibly uncommon" for a major studio not to release box office earnings.

New BET movie ‘Karen’ is 2021’s most rabidly racist film, as it tries to make hating white women culturally cool

Black Entertainment Television’s ‘Karen’ is a truly toxic movie riddled with the same identity-based hate that it supposedly aims to expose. The fact it’s been made at all makes a mockery of the serious subject matter.

When people inquire about what I do for a living and I tell them I’m a film critic, they often ask, “What’s that like?” My pat answer is, “It’s better than digging ditches.”

Having suffered through the atrociously awful new BET original movie ‘Karen’, I realize that statement isn’t true, as I would’ve been better off spending that hour and a half digging a ditch in which to bury myself alive.

‘Karen’ tells the story of Malik and Imani, a young black couple who move into a mostly white suburb of Atlanta. The titular character is their white racist neighbor Karen Drexler, who’s like the creature from the white lagoon, as menacing music accompanies her every appearance on screen.

How the CDC used the movie ‘Contagion’ to exploit the anthrax plot and increase their staff and budgets

Newly released documents have revealed the extent of the CDC’s role in the 2011 film, and how they milked the positive publicity. But they also beg the question why they weren’t more prepared for a real pandemic, like Covid.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of the fastest-growing federal agencies of recent decades. In 1987, their budget was $590 million but by 2020 it had ballooned to over $8 billion, leading journalist Eric Boehm to observe, “If the agency had grown with inflation since 1987, it would have a budget of about $1.3 billion today. Total federal spending, meanwhile, has grown from a hair over $1 trillion in 1987 to $4.4 trillion last year—which means that the CDC's budget has grown faster [than] the government’s overall spending.”

Biden Says Children Must Be Masked, But Celebrities Are Exempt? - (Video)

The Emmys were skewered on social media as observers took notice of the lack of coronavirus safety measures, especially masks.

The 2021 awards show was one of the first to return to the typical in-person format after over a year of delayed and adjusted ceremonies like the Oscars and Golden Globes. Some of the stars in attendance on Sunday were seen on the broadcast wearing masks or observing social distancing suggestions.

Although host Cedric the Entertainer noted on the broadcast that everyone in attendance had to show evidence of vaccination, as well as test negative for COVID-19, stars like Seth Rogen, came out swinging at the lack of requirements. He wasn’t the only one.

Reinventing the deliciously female Jessica Rabbit is a step too far from the joyless revisionists who are destroying Disney

The news Jessica Rabbit is to be reimagined in a role “more relevant to today’s culture” confirms that common-sense has left the building at Disney, a company which now seems to focus more on virtue signalling than entertaining.

Okay, I have to admit to something that’s not exactly cool. Ready? I had a crush on a cartoon character when I was a teenager. It wasn’t Marge from The Simpsons. Nor Betty Rubble from The Flintstones. Nope.

It was Jessica Rabbit, from the late ’80s Disney flick ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. Nightclub singer Jessica Rabbit was most definitely – voluptuously – female and, to my adolescent self, very, very sexy... er, for a drawing.

The Dragon Like Legs of Dong Tao Chicken

A rare Vietnamese chicken breed called the Dong Tao, prized for its delicious meat, has one of the most thickest legs usually not seen among birds of that size. This chicken breed is endemic to the Dong Tao commune in Khoai Chau district, about 30km from Hanoi. Once bred exclusively to serve the royal family and mandarins, this rare breed is now prized by chicken breeders and its meat is served in expensive restaurants that cater to the wealthy. The legs themselves are a delicacy.

Paleontologist Robert Bakker’s exclamation to his colleague, Jim Kirkland, on the phone back in 1991 was quite literally about a big discovery.

Digging in Gaston Quarry in Grand County, Utah, Kirkland had uncovered fossils of giant newly discovered raptor. Snout to tail, the ferocious creature would’ve been about 20 feet long and six feet tall, with long, curved, razor-sharp talons on each foot measuring nearly a foot in length.

At the time, Bakker was consulting with some of the dinosaur artists on Steven Spielberg’s upcoming Jurassic Park, and he had a problem. He knew the now-iconic Velociraptors in the movie were going to be about three times larger than they actually were — or exactly the size of Kirkland’s soon-to-be-named Utahraptor (pronounced “Utah-raptor”).

Biden to meet Disney chief, other CEOs in 'rallying cry' for vaccine mandates

U.S. President Joe Biden will meet on Wednesday with business leaders as he pushes companies to require workers to be vaccinated amid a surge in COVID-19 infections among those without a dose.

Participants in the meeting include the chief executives of Walt Disney Co, Microsoft Corp and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, the White House said.

Biden last week announced here vaccine mandates for nearly all federal employees, federal contractors, and larger companies as the number of U.S. infections continued to rise, hospital beds in some parts of the country filled up and mask requirements returned.

Some Republican-led states are defying recommendations from health officials, citing economic or freedom-of-choice arguments. Biden, a Democrat, has chosen to dig in on the issue, embracing vaccine requirements despite fierce opposition.

Still, opinion polls have shown a majority Americans support some form of mandates.

“DeSantis is the new Jim Jones…” Baldwin wrote, without offering any further explanation.

Monica Lewinsky Says Bill Clinton 'Should Want to Apologise' Over 90s Sex Scandal

A former White House intern who happens to have been engaged in an affair with ex-US President Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky is now one of the producers of the show "Impeachment: American Crime Story", set to hit small screens on Tuesday.

The Great Replacement Comes for Captain America: He’s Now Black. In Marvel Cinematic Universe, Whites Have No Place

The Great Replacement will not leave anything created by the Historic American Nation untouched. That includes Captain America, the quintessential Historic American. Two years after killing off the most important Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, the very white Captain America and Iron Man, in Avengers: Endgame, Disney plans a fourth theatrical release: Captain America 4. But now it will star black actor Anthony Mackie, also the lead in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney + miniseries, where he was sort of a moral compass showing whites True North; i.e., how to internalize anti-white propaganda, and assist in their own dispossession.

Both projects are the creations of Malcom Spellman, who is half-black, half-Jewish and wholly anti-white:

Porn games are ready for their big data money shot

Nutaku claims that MindGeek has been willing to invest in it because the porn powerhouse simply wants to tap a huge, underserved market for hentai games. But a number of adult industry insiders and observers, as well as information security experts, suspect there may be another motive at play: the absolutely obscene amount of user data that companies can potentially mine out of porn games. Data is, after all, far better than cash in the bank for any modern digital company — but its rampant collection is extremely worrying for any modern digital consumer.

The Suicide Squad is a grotesque, grisly, jingoistic state-sponsored horror show propagandising US foreign policy in Latin America

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is the latest superhero military propaganda vehicle, courtesy of the Pentagon’s Hollywood office. The result is a cynical, bloody glamorisation of US black ops in Central and South America.

The Suicide Squad is struggling at the pandemic-affected box office but has met with acclaim from critics and praise from audiences who have been largely starved of tentpole movies over the last couple of years. Jodie Whittaker’s torrid term in the TARDIS proves that, if Doctor Who hopes to have one, the future isn’t female

Militaries Plunder Science Fiction for Technology Ideas, But Turn a Blind Eye to the Genre’s Social Commentary

By Will Slocombe, University of Liverpool

Military planning is a complicated endeavour, calling upon experts in logistics and infrastructure to predict resource availability and technological advancements. Long-range military planning, deciding what to invest in now to prepare armed forces for the world in thirty years’ time, is even more difficult.

One of the most interesting tools for thinking about future defence technology isn’t big data forecasting and the use of synthetic training environments, but narrative and imagination. And we get this from science fiction.

Songwriter Iain Archer tells MPs streaming model is unethical

But in written evidence to the DCMS inquiry, he said that even if a song he had written was streamed one million times he might only earn about £450.

"On a song such as Be A Nobody by the artist Soak, this work had 1,402,712 streams in the year 2014 for which my publisher collected £118.80," Mr Archer said.

"I am clearly severely out of pocket on the costs incurred.

"Over six years I stand to make £1,355 from this song on 5,671,142 streams.

"All the above will also be reduced by a publisher's cut, management commission and tax."

Mr Archer said that level of payment for his work was "clearly not sustainable".

Diversity as Cover for the Creativity Crisis

The push for diversity comes at a moment when Hollywood creativity is at a low. Almost all original ideas are considered too much of a creative risk, especially in film

So maybe one of the reasons Hollywood accepts all these diversity mandates is that this will open up a new market: remaking or remixing almost every hit movie to correct the lack there of racial diversity in the original

Disney already prints money making live action remakes of almost every one of their animated films.

The next logical step is for them to remake even somewhat recent hits but in a new kind of Technicolor — BIPOColor.

It’s not creative bankruptcy — it’s a morally much-needed diversity remastering of a film.

The “racial reckoning” provided a self-righteous cover for a black “Pretty in Pink,” “Black to the Future,” etc.

Review: The Obamas’ Netflix Series ‘We the People’ Is a Woke ‘Schoolhouse Rock’

Imagine Schoolhouse Rock crossed with a corporate diversity seminar — along with a little acid — and you’ve got something close to Netflix’s We the People — a ten-part animated series from Barack and Michelle Obama that seeks to “reframe” how children think about the U.S. government, American history, and civic engagement.

The best that be said about this superficial civics lesson is that each episode is only five minutes long. The series brings together psychedelic animation and instantly forgettable songs to teach kids about citizenship, voting, taxes, and activism. In case you were wondering which way the political winds are blowing, the musical line-up includes left-wing stalwarts Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andra Day, Janelle Monae, and Bebe Rexha.

Film censors bow to snowflakes: Classic films including Rocky, Flash Gordon and Star Wars are slapped with stricter ratings to appease woke audiences

Also uprated was 1976 boxing classic Rocky, which was moved from a PG rating on video to a 12A for the 2020 theatrical re-release.

Its reclassification was due to 'moderate violence, mouthed strong language and domestic abuse', the BBFC said.

The extended edition of The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring was moved up to a 12A for its 'moderate fantasy violence and threat,' the BBFC said, bringing it in line with the other two films in the trilogy.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was also re-released and was classified PG for 'moderate violence and mild threat'. It had been a U film, meaning it was suitable for all ages.

The Elephant Man, the 1980 drama starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir John Hurt, became 12A for 'moderate threat, upsetting scenes and injury detail'.

Netflix has always been adamant that it won't force its users to watch adverts with CEO Reed Hastings saying last year: “We’ve got a much simpler business model, which is just focused on streaming and customer pleasure.

"There’s much more growth in the consumer market than there is in advertising, which is pretty flat.”

However, financial pressures and the growing list of streaming rivals may mean Netflix is forced to change its mind.

“Although Netflix management continues to strongly dismiss the idea of advertising, we think that view will be seen as a strategic mistake if future rates of subscriber growth start to fall short of Street expectations,” said Nathanson.

Amazon Studios’ new ‘playbook’ makes it official: diversity – not talent, skill or merit – is what now matters in entertainment

The document is shameless in its disdain for artistry and individuality, and its zealous worship of all things woke. But if it persists in putting identity politics above art, Amazon is dooming itself to cultural irrelevance.

The entertainment industry and the art of cinema took a gargantuan step on their relentless death march into the hellscape of the woke Mordor recently, when Jeff Bezos, the Sauron of Amazon Studios, released his new “diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) playbook”.

How’s Tarantino’s macho minstrel show working out for black males, anyway?

"Utopia" - Amazon Show Plot Featured Fake Virus, Global Vaccine Program To Sterilize World Population

An Amazon series released at the height of the COVID pandemic revolved around a plot where a virus is deliberately released and then a vaccine offered to a terrified public as a form of population control.

Utopia is a remake of the UK Channel 4 series originally released in 2013 and stars Jessica Rothe, Rainn Wilson, and John Cusack.

The plot centers on a group of comic book fans who discover an unpublished manuscript for a graphic novel which turns out to be a real life plot to fake a global pandemic in order to thin the earth’s population.

People are killed or poisoned to convince them that the virus is real before a traumatized population is convinced to take a vaccine which sterilizes the vast majority of them, lowering the planet’s population to just 500 million people total in a single generation.

The comic book fans are hunted down by a shadowy deep state organization after attempting to expose the conspiracy.

Documents reveal how Ben Affleck got into the CIA, promising to ‘do the Agency proud’

The 2012 spy drama Argo, starring Ben Affleck and based on the real-life CIA operation to exfiltrate six embassy staff trapped in Tehran following the 1979 revolution, was a big publicity boost for the agency.

In late 2012 Ben Affleck was on the promotional circuit for Argo. Naturally, this led to questions about the CIA-Hollywood connection and, in one interview, Affleck commented “Probably Hollywood is full of CIA agents, and we just don’t know it.” When he was asked if he was working for the CIA Affleck replied, “I am, yes, and now you’ve blown my cover.”

Nina Simone’s Family Blame Kamala Harris For Taking Singer’s Estate Away From Them

The singer’s granddaughter claimed that Simone's family no longer runs her estate. “Wanna hold someone accountable,” she wrote. “Ask Kamala Harris why she came for my family.”

Nina Simone’s daughter and grandchildren have declared they will no longer be silent, claiming her estate had been “taken away” from them and they are placing the blame on Vice President Kamala Harris.

It kicked off on Friday evening when RéAnna Simone Kelly, the daughter of Simone’s daughter Lisa Simone Kelly, praised Chlöe Bailey’s sexy rendition of the singer’s iconic song “Feeling Good”.

“Everyone’s coming at @ChloeBailey for her performance…But what y’all don’t understand is that grandma was a free-spirited woman herself,” RéAnna tweeted. “She would’ve loved that performance as much as I do! Relax. Chloe killed it.”

LGBTQ Writers Demand More Hollywood Jobs, Punishment of States with ‘Anti-Trans’ Legislation

LGBTQ writers in Hollywood are claiming widespread discrimination in the entertainment industry and are demanding executives take decisive steps to hire more queer, gay, and transgender writers.

They are also demanding Hollywood studios take action against states that have passed “anti-trans legislation” — which presumably refers to laws banning transgender drugs and surgery for minors, as well as laws prohibiting transgender women from competing in girls’ sports.

In an open letter sent Friday, the LGBTQ+ Writers Committee of the Writers Guild of America, West said Hollywood must do more to increase on-screen representation and fight discrimination.

The world is rocked by the arrival of aliens in Invasion teaser trailer

Apple TV+ has a solid hit with its alternative-history sci-fi drama For All Mankind, which just wrapped its second season, and the streaming platform clearly hopes to repeat that success with a new forthcoming sci-fi drama Invasion.

Don't confuse this ambitious project with the 2005 ABC series of the same name about water-based creatures taking over the bodies of people living in a small Texas town after a severe hurricane (basically an aquatic riff on Invasion of the Body Snatchers). Apple TV+'s Invasion is more of a 21st-century riff on War of the Worlds. Shot on four locations on four different continents—New York, Manchester, Morocco, and Japan—the series is intended to "make you question what you would do under extraterrestrial threat," per the official premise, and "takes a global look at how one alien invasion would affect us all."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Children’s cartoon Blue’s Clues features LGBTQ pride parade with drag queen & ‘trans’ animals

A popular children’s television show, Blue’s Clues, has been accused of indoctrinating its young viewers after releasing a LGBTQ singalong with lyrics many adults don’t even understand, in celebration of ‘Pride Month’.

Published on the show’s YouTube channel, the video, titled “The Blue’s Clues Pride Parade Sing-Along,” features a cartoon version of Nina West, an American drag queen, who leads the children in a song set to the tune of ‘The Ants Go Marching’. Floats with animals waving rainbow and transgender flags pass by on the screen as West sings.

The song features words such as “queer,” “trans,” “bi,” as well as “pan” and “non-binary,” with the lyrics displayed at the bottom of the screen so that children can sing along.

For example, as a group of beavers decked out in LGBTQ and trans regalia ride by, the drag queen sings:

Welcome to another edition of "Indiana Fun Facts." An ongoing series where I share with you tidbits of trivial knowledge I discover about our home state. In today's edition, we learn that Elvis's last concert took place at a venue in Indianapolis just two months shy of his death.

Throughout his career, no one was a bigger star in the music world than the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, Elvis Presley. Men wanted to be him, women wanted to be with him, he was charismatic, handsome, and unbelievably talented both on stage and in front of the camera. Unfortunately, like so many other musicians who ride the highest of highs, Elvis succumbed to the vices that often go along with fame when he died at Graceland of heart failure due to abuse of opiates on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42.

We mustn't talk about Israel. No, no, no. It's the ultimate political quagmire. Just leave it alone. It's way too complicated and, well, the actual details are ancient and a little bit boring for a generation who define their entire existence in 280 Twitter characters and other social media posts.

Bill Maher tests positive for COVID, forcing cancellation of Friday 'Real Time' episode

COVID-19 has sidelined comedian Bill Maher and, for one week at least, his HBO talk show, "Real Time with Bill Maher."

The "Real Time" Twitter account Thursday announced the cancellation of Friday's episode after the fully vaccinated host "tested positive during weekly staff PCR testing for COVID." The tweet continues that Maher "is asymptomatic and feels fine."

"'Real Time' production has taken every precaution following COVID CDC guidelines. No other staff or crew members have tested positive at this time," the tweet says.

Maher, who most assuredly will comment on the situation when he returns to his show, tweeted thanks to well-wishers later Thursday, while noting that he doesn't feel sick. He also lamented missing an episode, ending a streak that he says started in 1993 with an earlier show, ABC's "Politically Incorrect," and extended to "Real Time," which premiered in 2003.

Elon Musk Brings Ratings Lift to ‘Saturday Night Live’

Elon Musk’s turn as “Saturday Night Live” host brought the NBC late-night mainstay its third-highest ratings of the season.

The May 8 edition of “SNL” averaged a 4.8 household rating in Nielsen’s overnight metered markets and a 2.7 rating in adults 18-49. That put Musk’s episode at No. 3 behind Dave Chappelle’s outing as host on Nov. 7 and the Oct. 3 season premiere fronted by Chris Rock. Musk tied the ratings mark set Oct. 24 with the episode hosted by Adele with H.E.R. in the music slot.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made headlines by revealing that he has Asperger syndrome during his opening monologue. Musk marked the rare choice of a business world personality to host the NBC late-night institution although his pop culture profile has grown in recent years thanks to some of his antics and business ventures, all of which were spoofed on “SNL.”

Frank Capra’s Defense of Humanity: Cinema Considered as a Moral Institution

Frank Capra (1897-1991) stands as one of the most brilliant directors/producers of the 20th Century, and sadly also one of the least understood- known at best for the film It’s a Wonderful Life played every year as a Christmas tradition, or Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Unbeknownst to even many film connoisseurs today, Capra was not only a pre-eminent cultural warrior who took every opportunity to expose fascist movements during the 1930’s and 1940’s but also fought to provide a positive principled understanding of the divinity mankind’s higher nature in all his works. When asked to put into words what motivated him to create movies he said:

“My films must let every man, woman, and child know that God loves them, that I love them, and that peace and salvation will become a reality only when they all learn to love each other”
