Why Star Wars Fans Are Concerned About The Bad Batch and Whitewashing

This week a new Star Wars animated series on Disney+, The Bad Batch, re-introduced us to the last days of the Clone War and the rise of the sinister Empire. But amid the blaster fights and familiar faces, some fans have shown concern that the show’s major characters have had their skin tones adjusted, pushing them away from their roots.

Marvel Boss: Doctor Strange Was Cut from ‘WandaVision’ to Avoid the ‘White Guy’ Showing the Female Lead ‘How Power Works’

The popular Disney+ streaming series WandaVision was originally set to feature a cameo by Marvel superhero Doctor Strange, played by actor Benedict Cumberbatch. But Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said the “white guy” was cut so as to avoid him teaching Wanda, the strong female lead, “how power works.

Kevin Feige, made the admission this week revealing that the nine-episode series was going to feature a closing cameo by Doctor Strange. The sorcerer was apparently going to show and help Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) better understand the great powers she had developed during the series, among other ideas that were kicked around. Cumberbatch was even signed to reprise his role as Doctor Strange.

However, Cumberbatch was cut to avoid what Feige called the “white guy” coming in at the end to explain power to Wanda.

Frank Capra’s Defense of Humanity: Cinema Considered as a Moral Institution

Frank Capra (1897-1991) stands as one of the most brilliant directors/producers of the 20th Century, and sadly also one of the least understood- known at best for the film It’s a Wonderful Life played every year as a Christmas tradition, or Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Unbeknownst to even many film connoisseurs today, Capra was not only a pre-eminent cultural warrior who took every opportunity to expose fascist movements during the 1930’s and 1940’s but also fought to provide a positive principled understanding of the divinity mankind’s higher nature in all his works. When asked to put into words what motivated him to create movies he said:

“My films must let every man, woman, and child know that God loves them, that I love them, and that peace and salvation will become a reality only when they all learn to love each other”

Michael B. Jordan Addresses The Possibility Of Playing Black Superman

Actor Michael B. Jordan, who stars in the upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, recently addressed the possibility of playing a black Superman.

Jordan is no stranger to the question. Back in February 2019, he addressed a rumor that surfaced from Deadline that he might be playing Superman in an upcoming film.

Jordan appeared on Oprah where he stated, “Yeah, that was a rumor, I heard that. I heard that. I heard that. I heard a few rumors buzzing around. I think just to be in those conversations, it’s flattering. It’s very humbling.”

Then after Oprah asked him if he wanted to play Superman, Jordan responded, “It’s tough. You know why because I hate being a businessman also and understanding both sides of the situation. I think there’s a huge upside to it, but there’s being under that microscope and being picked apart and compared to so many different versions of Superman. I would rather do something original.”

Hollywood Was Born In America And Died Under The Influence Of Communist China

Travon Free used his time in the spotlight at the Oscars to scrutinize police for their use of force.

"Today, the police will kill three people, and tomorrow, the police will kill three people, and the day after that, the police will kill three people because, on average, the police in America every day kill three people," Free announced throughout his acceptance speech.

Free, who was a co-winner in the live-action short category, then proceeded to quote the late writer James Baldwin and announced it was "despicable" to be indifferent to the misery black people suffer at the hands of police.

7 Parts Of 'Rapunzel' That Were Really Messed Up

We all know the basics of Rapunzel: girl with long hair imprisoned by an evil witch, prince comes along, climbs up hair, rescues said trapped princess. (Why Rapunzel didn't just cut off her hair, knot it to something and climb down it herself is testimony to the power of Stockholm Syndrome.) But, while the original story seems to draw inspiration from several tales of women trapped in isolated places in various cultures, the Grimm Brothers' version of Rapunzel is the definitive tale — and it's one hell of a bizarre ride.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Claire located this after we watched Disney's "Tangled" last night. It is one of my favorite recent Disney movies; especially Maximus the horse (the team that animated him were brilliant IMHO). But in the spirit of "wokeness" Disney did sanitize the original tale a wee bit!

Enough of Hollywoke! Hannity blasts the Oscars as ‘a far left protest telling Americans how to think' and says viewership has tanked like it did for NFL when Kaepernick took knee. Megyn Kelly criticizes 'incessant lecturing'

Sean Hannity on Monday night criticized the Oscars for being overly political, agreeing with his former Fox News colleague Megyn Kelly that the 'woke' show had alienated viewers and driven ratings to an all-time low.

Just 9.85 million viewers tuned in - a 58 per cent drop on last year, which was already a record low, with 23.64 million viewers, according to early Nielsen numbers.

Hannity derided the Oscars as 'one big far left protest where self-obsessed celebrities berate the American people and tell them how to think'.

Nolte: Woketard Oscar Ratings Plummet 58%, First Time Below 10 Million Viewers

“In delayed fast national results just released by Nielsen, the 93rd Academy Awards were watched by a mere 9.85 million, with a dismal rating of 1.9 among the 18-49 demographic,” reports the far-left Deadline.

How dreadful is that? Well, last year’s Oscars used to be the lowest-rated in history, and this is a collapse of 58 percent below that. In the key 25-54 age demo, the collapse was a whopping – this is not a typo – 64 percent.

For comparison, just three years ago, total viewership dropped below 30 million for the first time in the ceremony’s recorded history.

The final numbers will be in later today or tomorrow, but holy cow. Who expected this? I mean, other than absolutely everybody.

Oscar Nominee Andra Day: School Textbooks ‘Are Designed to Continue White Supremacy’

Oscar-nominated star Andra Day has claimed the textbooks used in American schools are designed to perpetuate “white supremacy,” alleging they deliberately downplay or hide the accomplishments of black historical figures, including singer Billie Holiday, whom she plays in the Hulu movie The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

The pop star, who is a best actress nominee for her role in the movie, also praised Stacey Abrams (D) in a wide-ranging interview with left-wing cultural critic Roxane Gay for The Hollywood Reporter.

During the conversation, Andra Day attacked school textbooks, claiming they frequently omit historical accounts of black people, like the controversy surrounding Billie Holiday’s song “Strange Fruit,” which was a protest song against racist lynchings.

“We didn’t know because textbooks are designed to continue white supremacy, right? In schools and colleges. I didn’t know about [the women of] Hidden Figures because we weren’t supposed to know,” she said.

Oscars 2021: Regina King Kicks Off Ceremony with Threat to Protest if Derek Chauvin Case ‘Had Gone Differently’

Actress-turned-director Regina King wasted little time Sunday by kicking off the 93rd annual Academy Awards by declaring she would have protested in Minnesota “if things had gone differently this past week,” in an apparent reference to the verdict in the Derek Chauvin case.

Regina King began with a long track through Union Station in downtown Los Angeles before ending up in front of a live audience.

“I have to be honest: if things had gone differently this past week in Minneapolis I might’ve traded in my heels for marching boots,” King said. “I know many of you want to reach for your remote when you feel Hollywood is preaching to you, but as the mother of a black son who fears for his safety, I know the fear that so many live with. And no fame or fortune changes that. OK?”

Watch: 11 Woke Rants at the Oscars

Oscar winners and presenters at the Academy Awards are famous for using the platform to preach politics in grandiose speeches that have pushed left-wing narratives and promoted Democratic Party positions.

The 93rd Academy Awards, slated for Sunday, is likely to be no exception. TV ratings for the telecast have hit history lows. Still, sanctimonious speeches have been commonplace throughout the years — from global warming activist Leonardo DiCaprio launching into a climate-charged rant in 2016 to Kumail Nanjiani and Lupita Nyong’o giving a shout out to “Dreamers” in 2018.

Here is a look back at some of the most woke rants at the Oscars in recent years.

Holding the Oscars in a train station makes sense – the show was a ghastly train wreck

As evidenced by this most recent disastrously dull and incoherent ceremony, the annual Academy Awards are on the fast track to irrelevance.

My biggest question regarding 2021’s egregiously bungled and boring Oscar telecast is…if an awards show collapses but no one is watching, does it make a sound?

Interest in the Oscars has been in steep decline for years now, and after suffering through the entire three hour and twenty-minute show last night I can dutifully report that the 93rd Academy Awards came in with a whimper and left with a whimper, too.

New World Mordor: Amazon and New Zealand’s Lord of the Rings deal lays bare the ‘idyllic’ nation's role in global surveillance

Amazon’s forthcoming Tolkien production is anticipated to be the priciest TV show ever made, with the retail and streaming giant spending $250 million on the rights alone, plus hundreds of millions more on filming each season.

But there’s no worry of Amazon Studios going bust fulfilling its Middle Earth fantasies, because the New Zealand government is subsidising the series via a special 25% rebate for production costs. As well as being the most expensive TV show in history, Amazon’s Lord of the Rings project will also enjoy what is likely the biggest government cultural subsidy of all time.

Oscars hits an all-time LOW: Only 9.85million viewers tuned in to Academy Awards - down 58% on last year as three-hour long 'wokefest' gets panned

The number of people who tuned in to watch the three-hour long 'wokefest' that was the Oscars has hit an all time low with just 9.85 million viewers.

The television ratings for the 93rd Academy Awards on Sunday night is a 58 percent drop compared to last year's already record-low 23.64 million viewers, according to early Nielsen numbers.

The huge drop in ratings for Hollywood's biggest night continues an overall multi-year downward trend for the Academy Awards, which were above 43 million as recently as 2014.

Major Hollywood Studios Release Woke Statements Following Conviction Of Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin

This Tuesday, Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted on all three charges he was facing in the death of George Floyd — namely of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter.

Following the former police officer’s conviction, of course some of the major, woke Hollywood studios had something to say — releasing virtue signalling statements that promoted the Black Lives Matter organisation and even pushed the anti-police agenda.

“George Floyd’s murder is another chapter in the history of police brutality against Black people,” reads a statement shared on Twitter by HBO Max.

The statement continues, “Former police officer Derek Chauvin’s conviction was just, but the result is not the norm and the battle for racial equity continues. We remain committed to the Black community, especially our Black colleagues, storytellers, and fans, in this fight.”

‘Last Man Standing’ Star Tim Allen Condemns ‘Willful Process’ Working To Divide The American People

"Last Man Standing" star Tim Allen defied Hollywood norms to call out the "willful process to divide us" that's happening in our culture.

These days, Hollywood is dominated by liberals who have no problem with the government controlling as many aspects of our lives as possible. “Last Man Standing” star Tim Allen, however, has never been afraid to defy the Hollywood norm by speaking his own mind.

Allen did just that over the weekend by calling attention to one cultural trend in America with a powerful tweet that many of his fellow Hollywood stars will not like.

Tim Allen Sounds Off On Divisiveness

“I sense a willful process to divide us by connecting crises where no connection exist. Cui Bono. Who would benefit by this?” Allen wrote.

Video: Madonna Pushes Gun Control as the ‘Vaccination’ America Needs Most

Pop star Madonna posted a video Saturday in which she pushed gun control as the “vaccination” America needs at this time.

The video, posted to Instagram, shows Madonna walking among buildings, putting up gun control posters.

In the course of hanging the posters, Madonna says, “All safety is an illusion.”

Toward the end of video she turns, looks into the camera, and says, “Beware of this new vaccination for America to keep us all alive; it’s gonna keep us all safe. It’s called gun control, okay? It’s called gun safety, alright?”

She added that the “new vaccination…should be mandatory.”

Conservative Hollywood is Struggling To Get Their Voices Heard

A documentary film about an African American lawyer who grew from poverty and dictatorship in the Deep South to the highest court in the land would seem natural for Black History Month. In February, however, at the very time, its Prime Video service was starring films featuring black history makers, Amazon without reason stopped offering digital streams of “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words.”

While the film was removed despite having at one time reached No. 1 on Amazon’s documentary charts, the world’s largest online retailer proceeded to make free streams of less-popular documentaries, including a favorable one on Anita Hill, the former Thomas colleague who nearly wrecked his Supreme Court authorization.

Actor Zach Avery Arrested for Allegedly Running Multi-Million Dollar Hollywood Movie Ponzi Scheme

Actor Zachary J. Horwitz, best known under his stage name Zach Avery, was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles in connection with a massive Hollywood Ponzi scheme, which federal authorities allege defrauded investors out of more than $227 million.

Avery is accused of fabricating licensing deals with Netflix, HBO, as well as other platforms, in order to secure funding for his film distribution company, 1inMM Capital LLC, according to the FBI.

Avery's lawyer and publicist did not immediately respond to PEOPLe's request for comment.

In a sworn affidavit filed in Los Angeles federal court, FBI agent John Verrastro said Avery then used the funds for "personal benefit" and to make payments to previous investors "in the style of a classic Ponzi scheme."

Avery founded the Los Angeles-based 1inMM Capital LLC in 2013, claiming to distribute English films to the Latin American market through partnerships with HBO and Netflix, the FBI said.

Makers of ‘Gosnell’ movie to ‘blow the lid off Biden corruption’ with ‘My Son Hunter’

An Irish-born filmmaking couple will “blow the lid off Biden corruption” with their just-announced film My Son Hunter.

The creators of Gosnell and ObamaGate shared their plan to film a biopic of Hunter Biden — centered around his corrupt business dealings and scandalous lifestyle — that will include revelations from Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”

“This movie is going to tell the whole story,” said Phelim McAleer as he announced the film with his wife, Ann McElhinney. “China, Russia, Ukraine.”

“We know that Twitter suppressed the story in the New York Post,” McElhinney noted, referring to Twitter’s banning of a New York Post bombshell report revealing that Joe Biden was aware of his son’s Ukrainian business dealings.

V for Vendetta Might Be Even Better 15 Years Later

There’s a point about halfway through V for Vendetta when a character is looking at headlines and sees one that reads: “80,000 Dead.” The thought that some singular event could have killed so many people is meant to shock both him and the audience. In 2006, when V for Vendetta was released, it probably did. But in 2021, in the midst of a global pandemic that’s killed almost three million people worldwide, it feels not just plausible, but all too relatable, and revisiting the film reveals far, far scarier notions than anyone involved could have possibly imagined.

Bette Midler Suggests Texas Deadly Winter Storm Is ‘Payback’ from God to Senators Cruz, Cornyn

Ted Cruz and John Cornyn.

Bette Midler tweeted her divine retribution theory late Tuesday, describing the Republican senators from Texas as “hateful,” “vicious,” and “cruel.” She implied that God is punishing the politicians for voicing objections to the Electoral College certification in January.

Judas and the Black Messiah exposes Black Lives Matters for the establishment-controlled bourgeois bulls**tters that they are

The new Black Panthers movie is one of the best of the year. But it’s being critically misinterpreted in order to scuttle working class solidarity in favor of maintaining the status quo through racial hysteria.

Judas and the Black Messiah, which opened in theaters and on the streaming service HBO Max on February 12, recounts the true story of the betrayal of Fred Hampton, the charismatic chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers, by Bill O’Neal, an FBI informant.

The flawed but fantastic film, written and directed by Shaka King, features a fascinating story and scintillating performances from Daniel Kaluuya as Hampton and LaKeith Stanfield as O’Neal, making it among the very best movies of this thus far cinematically calamitous year.

This Proves the NYPD Really Does Love Donuts

Like the stock market or COVID, you likely heard there’s a lot of snow on the East coast right now. You’ve probably also heard the old stereotype that cops love donuts. I’ve never really understood where that comes from. Also, who doesn’t love donuts? Either way, that’s beside the point. Amidst the snowstorm in NYC, an NYPD officer got caught enjoying a few snow-nuts in a Ford Explorer Interceptor whilst on the clock. Tsk tsk tsk.

Do cops really like donuts?
I won’t speak for all cops, but the NYPD clearly does. The police are hard at work as the city shuts itself in for the night after a gleeful snow day. What would anyone do with a cop car you didn’t pay for, a snowy parking lot, and the right to act a fool with impunity? Snow-nuts!

Yellowstone 'Zone of Death' is a 50-square-mile region in Idaho where 'you can get away with murder' because it has zero population and no one to sit on the jury of a criminal trial

Yellowstone National Park stretches more than 3,400 square miles through Wyoming and Montana, but a small portion of the park dips into Idaho that is known as the 'Zone of Death.'

Within this 50-square-mile area of Idaho is a loophole in the US Constitution that would allow someone to theoretically get away with any crime, including murder.

The technicality stems from the Sixth Amendment that states an individual charged of with a crime has the right to a jury summoned from the state and district where the crime was committed.

However, the 'Zone of Death' falls in a district that has a population of zero and any criminal act conducted in the region would technically have to be dismissed by a court of law.

Researchers across the US have petition Congress to end the loophole by adding the lawless land to the District of Wyoming, but have been shot down because officials say the judicial system would 'prevail' regardless of the loophole

Correspondence between the families had become heated after the O'Neill's pursued Sturridge in court for £67,000 of unpaid rent, saying he breached the lease by moving out five months early.

Alan, 50, and Katie, 47, from Mere, Cheshire East, now say that, unbeknown to them at the time, their 17-year-old daughter visited the property with three of her friends and the group stayed overnight.

But when Sturridge discovered about the visit, which happened after he moved out but was still technically an occupant, he claimed for return of the rent, which was granted by a judge who found the teenager was 'taking repossession' of the home.

An award-winning Jewish filmmaker is to release a documentary film aimed at offering LGBTQ+ Catholics with homosexual iconography of Jesus.

Director Yuval David, a Jew "married" to his Catholic "husband," says he noticed the absence of LGBTQ+ portrayals of Jesus in Catholicism — a faith where icons play a significant part.

The lack of visual representation of a "gay Jesus" led David to create a feature-length movie exploring the challenges and aspirations of LGBTQ+ Catholics.

The film "Wonderfully Made" will be released in early 2021 and features interviews with homosexualist Jesuit Fr. James Martin and openly gay priest Fr. Bryan Massingale.

However, potential viewers are shrugging their shoulders in scepticism and apparent disbelief.

HiddenLight Productions, a new production enterprise started by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, her daughter Chelsea, Roma Khanna, as well as UK production company Sundog's Sam Branson and Johnny Webb, has acquired the series adaptation rights to the currently best-selling story "The Daughters of Kobani" by author Gayle Tzemach Lemmon.

Netflix is Losing Subscribers in the US: The Untold Reason

Netflix’s 2019 second-quarter results were nothing less than disastrous. The streaming company saw its first major loss of US subscribers (over 130,000 cancellations) while the number of international subscriptions barely reached 50% of what was forecast (2.7 million new paid customers). Stocks dropped by more than 10% immediately after the release of the report.

Several reasons were cited for the loss of US subscribers: The price hike from $10.99 to $12.99, competition from other streaming services, the arrival of new streaming services (WarnerMedia, Disney, and Apple) and the stagnation of Netflix’s content library.

‘F**k every single Trump voter’: Biden may be in, but Hollywood’s & media’s crusade to destroy conservatives is just beginning

Joe Biden’s calls for “unity” mean nothing to his most public supporters, the liberal celebs who celebrate their victory by spewing vitriol at Donald Trump and his supporters, and who have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is going nowhere. If you find yourself hoping Joe Biden’s presidency means we can, for better or worse, turn the page on the four years Trump occupied the White House, then you are an optimist whose blinkers are screwed on so tight that oxygen is being cut off from your brain.

Watching the reactions to Biden’s inauguration and Trump’s final hours as president, one would assume the election results were flipped and we were headed into another four years of Trump.

“Fuck Trump, fuck his whole family, fuck anyone that chose to work with him and fuck every single Trump voter,” comedian and Elizabeth Warren supporter Billy Eichner tweeted.

“The last inauguration I refused to watch. This one I’m excited for,” Rosanna Arquette enthused.

“We are now entering the final 24 hrs of this madness. We have all dreamed and prayed and worked for this day,” Michael Moore wrote.

Mark Wahlberg BREAKS SILENCE And Destroys Every Trump Hating Celebrity In EPIC Interview

There are few celebrities in Hollywood that seem to get it, but Mark Wahlberg is one of them.

Celebrities today seem to think they have the right to tell us how to lead our lives and what we should believe in.

They seem to think their ability to make-believe and play pretend every day makes them better than the rest of us.

Mark Wahlberg, however, does not quite see it that way.

He actually realizes that people like Robert De Niro are actually hurting the industry by getting up on their soapboxes and slamming Americans with conservative beliefs.

After Wahlberg made “Patriots Day,” a movie about the attack during the Boston Marathon, he had a rather eye-opening message to his fellow actors and Americans.

He stated, “A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t [talk about politics].

“You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway.

“They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table.

British film censor claims Flash Gordon villain Ming the Merciless is a 'discriminatory stereotype' and 'offensive' for being played by a white actor as it puts warning on 1980s movie

Viewers have been warned about an 'outright offensive' character in the iconic movie Flash Gordon.

The British Board of Film Classification has added a warning about Ming the Merciless, advising the audience that the character played by the late Swedish actor Max von Sydow is a 'discriminatory stereotype'.

The 1980 movie was reclassified as a 12A earlier this year, and the BBFC said Ming is 'coded as an east Asian character' and would now be considered, 'dubious if not outright offensive'.

Cut off Trump’s oxygen! Biden brings with him a wave of dangerously validated celebrities spewing violent rhetoric

Joe Biden winning the election has done nothing to stop the violent talk from liberal celebrities. In fact, it actually appears to have made things worse as Donald Trump’s loss has seemingly validated their wildest views.

For four years, the sky has been falling for celebrities. While their lives have remained relatively unchanged based on who sits in the White House, that has not stopped a constant barrage of attacks against President Donald Trump, his supporters and anyone else who doubts Joe Biden and his horde of Democrat pals are the answer to all the world’s problems.

One would think Biden’s victory on election day would have been a moment to tone down the rhetoric and rejoice the victory in their fantasy battle against a man they just can’t stop accusing of being a misogynist, homophobe, white supremacist or worse. Even Biden has offered hollow calls for unification as Trump’s days in the White House wind down.

A pro football game on a Wednesday afternoon is rare. Advertisers getting a pricing discount for NFL games is also usually unheard of.

But it’s happening.

TV networks are feeling the strains of disappointing NFL ratings, as they are forced to restructure deals with advertisers to make up for the smaller audience, and their opportunity to make money off remaining games during the lucrative holiday season narrows.

NBC made the unusual move of lowering the price it charged advertisers that already had committed to run in a Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game planned for Thanksgiving night after a Covid-19 outbreak on the Ravens forced the game’s postponement to the following Wednesday.
