"There is no worse mistake in public leadership than to hold out false hopes soon to be swept away. The British people can face peril or misfortune with fortitude and buoyancy, but they bitterly resent being deceived or finding that those responsible for their affairs are themselves dwelling in a fool's paradise." -- Winston Churchill
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday took a shot at Trump without saying his name.
McConnell said it is highly unlikely that Trump will ever be elected president again for dining with Kanye West and his surprise entourage.
“First let me just say that there is no room in the Republican Party for anti-Semitism or white supremacy. And anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view — in my judgment — are highly unlikely to ever be elected President of the United States.”
Engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are developing a group of robots with built-in intelligence that are capable of building almost anything, including buildings, vehicles, and even replicating themselves into bigger robots.
In the 2024 GOPe roadmap for 2024, analytically and strategically South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem would be anticipated as the second-to-last entrant, followed by a carefully introduced Governor Ron DeSantis.
The most likely establishment framework would be for the prior entrants, Nikki Haley, Liz Cheney, Tim Scott and the two Mikes Pence/Pompeo to do the maximum negative attack damage against President Trump prior to the dynamic duo arrival. Flow through the ’24 primaries and Trump, DeSantis and Noem would be the last three standing before the wunderkinds team up after Nevada for the final assault. Standing where we are today, something like that seems most likely. It tracks.
With that in mind, and reminding ourselves that Noem has already pre-seeded with the customary and proverbial book launch, it is worthwhile paying close attention to how Team Koch and Kristi Noem organize their staging. In this interview, which reflects her very good and pragmatic position as a sponge for base voters, Mrs. Noem outlines her current views on the state of all things political, and, similar to Team DeSantis, stays high-road and reserves her jabs for Biden.
In an urgent letter to the editor-in-chief of the medical journal The BMJ, Dr. Angus Dalgleish, Professor of Oncology at the St. George’s University of London, asks for UK’s unnecessary covid vaccine program to end immediately,
The cancer specialist of more than 30 years writes that the link between Covid vaccine and “blood clots, myocarditis, heart attacks, and strokes is now well accepted, as is the link with myelitis and neuropathy.” He adds that he already predicted these side effects in June 2020.
Liberals are pushing the idea that criminals such as pedophiles should be given another chance once they serve their time in prison.
They maintain that known sexual predators should be let out and allowed to resume their regular duties of citizenship without ever having to be monitored.
The Gateway Pundit reported that an article by the Washington Post was highly sympathetic to pedophiles and favored them being treated fairly even though they are a danger to youth.
The article, as reported by the Pundit, called pedophiles “brilliant” and even sought to rebrand them as victims of society by claiming that they are mistreated after they have served their prison time. They fail to understand that the consequences of their actions will follow them for the rest of their lives.
Mastercard lost an appeal in a London court on Tuesday against a ruling in a 10 billion pound-plus ($12 billion-plus) collective action that allows the claims of around three million people who have died since the lawsuit began to continue.
The global payments processor is facing a lawsuit brought by consumer champion Walter Merricks on behalf of approximately 46 million adults in the United Kingdom, which became the first mass consumer action to be approved in the UK in 2021.
The case was certified last year after a nearly five-year journey from the first-instance Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), which initially refused to give the go-ahead, to the UK Supreme Court and back.
In March, the CAT said the date for determining whether members of the claimant class are based in the UK should be when the case was filed in 2016, meaning the claims of roughly three million people who had died since could be continued by their estates.
Several names of Chinese policy experts mysteriously disappeared from websites for a prominent Washington DC think tank just a week after Daily Caller News Foundation revealed that some of those experts had direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace had at least 16 expert’s names disappear from their website after the revelations. The Daily Caller News Foundation revealed 20 individuals with ties to the CCP, so more names might disappear from the website soon.
The Democrat Governor of Colorado says that he does not endorse the assault weapons ban proposed by President Joe Biden.
Governor Jared Polis took a stand against his party on this one. However, he says he is willing to look closer at licensing requirements for high-powered weapons within the state. Thus, he takes things a step further than many Republicans would like, but at least he is not going as far as fully signing on to an assault weapons ban.
Polis spoke with NBC News about this stand and said: “In Colorado, we have a magazine limit – 15 bullets, no more than 15 bullets in a magazine. So effectively, it reduces the ability of high-powered weapons to do harm. So look, I think all these things, including the red flag law, and expanding its use should really be looked at.”
For decades, it has been an open secret that many among the elite are deeply attracted to practices that are unspeakably evil. But for most of that time, those that were engaged in such practices tried very hard to hide their involvement. Unfortunately, societal attitudes have changed very rapidly in recent years, and that means that many among the elite no longer feel that it is necessary to hide who they really serve. Some of the things that I am going to share with you in this article are very disturbing, but it is imperative for all of us to fully understand what we are now facing.
Let me start by discussing Disney, because at one time Disney was one of the few entertainment giants that parents could trust to produce family-friendly material that was safe for children.
Of course that has now completely changed, and at this point Disney is constantly making headlines due to the extremely alarming content that it is continuously putting out.
As the UK faces a severe economic downturn and cost of living crisis brought on by rising inflation, the impact of COVID and Brexit, close observers of the British defense industry are wondering if the situation will lead to a surge of takeovers by US and foreign investors, -‘Breaking Defense’ admits.
Interest from across the Atlantic in UK military technologies has been plainly obvious for decades, making acquisitions a common but no less worrying aspect of the British defense scene.
Multiple UK defense companies routinely trade “at a discount versus their US peers,” said Kai Balder, Partner at Roland Berger, a strategic consultancy firm. “The share price of aerospace and defense companies that predominantly sold to the US defense market were least impacted by COVID, but companies outside the US and who were exposed to civil aerospace, were most severely impacted, among those were UK companies.”
The civilized world does not need NATO, a "criminal organization" whose member states account for just about 12% of the world’s population, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday.
"NATO countries account for not more than 12% of the planet’s population. The civilized world does not need this organization. It should repent before the humanity and dissolve itself on the grounds of being a criminal organization," Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the Russian security official, NATO "easily forgot" what it had done all over the world, including orchestrating state coups and toppling legitimate state leaders. The organization and its leadership also seem to have forgotten about numerous civilian casualties, caused by its operations and arms supplies to extremist regimes, Medvedev added.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has warned that Patriot systems and their personnel will become legitimate targets for the Russian army in case they are supplied to Kiev.
"If, as [NATO Secretary General Jens] Stoltenberg has hinted, NATO supplies Patriot systems with NATO personnel to Kiev fanatics, they will immediately become a legitimate target for our armed forces," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Tuesday, adding that he hopes that NATO understands that.
Earlier in the day, Stoltenberg told a news conference after the first day of the NATO ministerial meeting that NATO is discussing the issue of possible supplies of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
UK politicians should reflect on whether baseless anti-Russian propaganda amounts to hate-speech, which the West opposes so much, the Russian embassy to the United Kingdom said in a comment to TASS.
The embassy said it was outraged by "the apparent willingness of prominent UK officials to uncritically reproduce the vile and primitive anti-Russian propaganda of the Kiev regime."
Among other things, Russian diplomats noted recent remarks by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who claimed on Monday that the Russian military was setting up booby-trapped toys and installing torture chambers in Kherson. Meanwhile, earlier that day UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly "seemed to imply the responsibility of Russian Armed Forces in committing 'atrocities' of a sexual nature."
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has held meetings with the foreign ministers of Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, who earlier arrived in Kiev.
"This visit to Ukraine is a gesture of the partner countries' strong support and solidarity with Ukraine, especially at a time of serious challenges. I am grateful to the Baltic and Northern Europe states for their unfailingly active and efficient assistance for Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity and independence," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Zelensky as saying in a social media post. According to the presidential website, Zelensky also highlighted the challenges of the winter period and emphasized the need to provide urgent support to the Ukrainian energy system.
Furthermore, he underscored the importance of these countries' participation in implementing the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative, which was suggested by Ukraine, and the significant role of each partner's financial contribution to maintaining food security worldwide.
The US authorities have allocated vast funds to help Ukraine but have no precise information on how the money was used, Senator Bill Hagerty (Republican, Tennessee) said during a hearing of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
The hearing was devoted to nominations to a number of posts. One of the speakers was Richard Weiner, nominated to be United States Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Speaking about the bank’s potential effort to raise funds for rebuilding Ukraine, Weiner said: "Oversight is critical, accountability is critical, transparency is critical."
"We’ve got to make sure the money is spent for its intended uses. Ukraine is historically considered the third most corrupt country in Europe. And we’ve got to make sure that high integrity standards are applied to American taxpayers’ dollars spent in support of Ukraine," he added.
French retail chain Fnac has stopped selling a card game based around the far-left extremist group Antifa after a complaint by a French police union, removing the item from their website.
The French retailer removed the “Antifa: the Game” product from their website after complaints on social media over the weekend when the Union of Commissioners of the National Police (SCPN), a national police union, and members of the populist National Rally (RN) highlighted the game.
The game had been on sale on the retailer’s website since November 10th but was removed on Sunday evening, broadcaster BFMTV reports.
